Sweet dreams are made of these...
( for A-M characters )
Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

This exercise will teach you about the organs. How do they feel? How stiff is it? Is it compressible?
[She wheels the cooler around to the front of the class, then stands with her hands on her hips, regarding the rest of the class. The teacher herself looks like a kindly woman, white hair done up in a bun, glasses obnoxiously square. But she appears to be a bit blurry around the edges, like Clay doesn't remember her very well.]
I know some of you don't want to do this, but it's a vital part of learning about biology. Find a group, and once you're settled, I'll give you your frog!
[The kids in the back give a furtive whisper and seem to lean forward, and Clay's shoulders tense. But before they can ask him to be in their group and thus have easy access to pick on him, the boy on Alex's right speaks up while patting first her back, then Clay's.]
These two are with me.
[Clay looks at him, surprised, yet relieved. He isn't sure what he'd do if the kids actually got to him first.]
Perfect! [The teacher is in front of their table now, cooler beside her.] Are you ready for your frog?

I get it, he's your Harper.
[They're a little older than she was when she met her old best friend, but it's a similar scenario. She hopes that whoever he is, he's still in Clay's life.
Turning back to the dream-Clay, ]
You were a freaking cute kid, dude.

Okay.
[It's Clay who speaks up this time, having finally lifted his head and trying to look like he's okay with this. But then the teacher turns, opens the cooler, and takes out a metal tray to set in front of them. And on that tray is, of course, a dead frog lying on its back, ready to be dissected.
Clay looks tense, but doesn't protest. It's not like the frog is cut open yet and all.]

[Alex slides off her stool, looking around for a way out. She is not about that life.]
