Sweet dreams are made of these...

[ Calibration Rooms ]
( for A-M characters )
Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

[The painting seems to fill your field of vision and the following memory plays out. It's... short. And recent. Very recent. All the images Ahsoka saw, all the feelings Ahsoka felt, they're still sharp and fresh as the day it happened.

Here's the context: you're running through the industrial pipeline system for your life. You've just escaped from prison, wrongly detained for a crime you didn't commit. But despite your protestations of innocence, nobody believes you. And the more time passes, the more evidence turns up that seems to miraculously implicate you, even though you know you didn't do it.

So escape is the only option. If you stay, you'll be found guilty, and you have no intention of going down for this. So you run. You run and you run, with Clone Troopers hot on your tail, determined to escape and find the real murderer who's framing you for this. It's clear now that's the only way you'll be able to clear your name.

But losing the Clone Troopers isn't easy. They're trained for this-- but then again, so are you. They've given you a rough chase out of the military prison so far, and though the pipeline is making it easier, you're still far from ditching them. Your heart thuds in your chest like it's going to explode, even though you're at the peak of physical fitness and could probably continue running for hours. It's the terror, though, not the exertion.

Finally, it seems like you've made some distance between yourself and the Troopers, and you run towards the light at the end of the pipeline. Only... it's not exactly an exit, you discover. It's an exit that looks out over the thousands of levels of Coruscant. You know you can jump several hundred storeys and land safely without injury through use of the Force, but thousands is pushing it. What do you do now? If you backtrack, the Troopers hot on your tail will surely find you.

Right on cue, that's when Anakin catches up with you, and the conversation in the memory plays out. Oh, your master. You want so badly to stop running. To go with him. To believe the things he's saying-- that you could turn yourself in and it would be okay. That he'd protect you, and he would prove your innocence. But you know it's not true. You trust Anakin, but you don't trust anyone else. Not any more. Someone in the Jedi Order is framing you. Someone is deliberately setting you up to take the fall.

"Anakin. You have to trust me now," you say to him, imploring him to understand. You trust him. Does he trust you? Does he really, truly trust that you're innocent?

You jump. He could easily have stopped you. ... But he doesn't.

    He trusts you.]

[ The fear comes alive first. Compressed and put away because the plan needs to be first. Running, and running. Skidding to a stop near the exit, and feeling the fear uncurl and spread, the helplessness going with it. That's thousands of levels and maybe a few ships but a whole lotta luck and Jim's inner quiet, prepared tendencies rebel against it. ]

[ The thought of trust comes after, just as ground becomes space and the world turns into a blur of shapes. That man could've stopped them, forcibly. If he really wanted. And he didn't — he took a leap of faith. Jim steps away from the holoform, and murmurs something inaudible. Then, out loud, ]

He's not around anymore, is he?

    ... Who, Anakin?

    Sure, he's around.

It might be more accurate to say I'm the one who's not around.

I left the Order shortly after that.

[Calibration!Ahsoka states it flatly, without any emotion attached to it. In this room, it is simply a fact.]

[Ahsoka leads him to the next painting over, and as Jim stands in front of it, the memory begins to play already this time without input. It only takes a few minutes all up, but it's the most devastating few minutes of Ahsoka's young life to date.

But if you want the long version: you stand on trial before the Jedi Council, accused of murder, terrorism, treason and sedition. You know you are innocent. You know you're being set up. But nobody other than Anakin believes you, and the evidence is overwhelmingly against you.

This isn't even the official trial that will determine your innocence or guilt.

No. This is the Jedi Council, deciding that you're guilty before the official trial has even begun, and casting you aside. This is the Council deciding that politics are more important than their Code. They would rather bend to the whim of the Senate and be seen washing their hands of you than to stand by you as you claim your innocence time and time again. It isn't fair. Why does nobody believe you?

You can only feel unending despair as Master Yoda proclaims the verdict-- lifelong exile. You can feel Anakin's anger from all the way across the room as he rages at the Council. But even as they rip your padawan braid off your head, you can't even find your own rage anymore. You're long past that. All you feel now is a hollow emptiness, and a desperate struggle not to cry rising from your stomach. You've haven't cried since you were a child. And you're not a child any more. You never cried even when you were marching into the front lines of a war at fourteen, when General Grievous was choking you to death, when you were shot multiple times, when you were kidnapped by hunters, when you saw your friends die in front of you because of decisions you made...

No. You didn't cry then and you won't cry now.

But you fought so valiantly for so long. You were so loyal. You believed in everything they told you. So how could they believe you capable of such atrocities? That's what hurts the most. The Jedi Temple is your home. The Order is your way of life. It's all you've ever known since the age of three. It was... your family. The one thing you stood for, that you would stand by, no matter what.

And now it's thrown you to the wolves.]
