[ It's very shortly after this--a few hours, a night, whichever--that Sascha anxiously making his way to Kitty's room aboard the Windrose occurs. How shaken he is by the news he's been given is evident in the way that he doesn't show up in the middle of the night, his preferred time to roam about--Sascha goes early. Or "late" for him as it were; it's actually almost a reasonable time for everyone to begin waking up for the day and starting to go about their business that the wannabe-vampire rushes to Kitty's room and practically forces the sliding door open himself.

Not to toss himself onto the bed or tackle anyone, or even to try and sneak onto the bed stealthily.

He just needs to make sure he can see her there, hands pressed into the door frame tightly as he pants for breath. ]

[Kitty is snuggled up against Winn, not ready to wake yet when she hears the first sound of the door being forced. In a flash she is on her feet and grabbing her claws. She stops as she identifies her intruder] ...Sascha?

[She stands there in a t-shirt and shorts. Recent experiences have taught her to sleep in more clothes. Seems like it paid off. Something about him stops her from scolding him about calling first or even knocking.]

[ the sound of the opening door barely registers, but when kitty gets up and speaks, he hums in protest and rubs his eyes, pulling himself up to a sitting position, in nothing but his boxers.

he frowns as he takes the scene in. ]

...what's going on?

[ Others might be embarrassed or even scandalized to come across them in bed together (even with clothes), but in Sascha's case? He's so relieved to see and hear Kitty that he doesn't even try to speak or explain why he's there (that will come after); the vampire just hurries to her and wraps his arms around her tightly...power permitting.

If she doesn't phase away he'll actually even lift her up some, burying his face in her shoulder. ]

[She stays solid for him, wrapping her arms around him after a moment of surprise.] Sascha, what happened? [Her voice is soft and she holds the gauntlet that didn't make it to her wrist out for Winn to take so she can better hold her vampire.]

[ jumping out of bed, winn grabs that gauntlet and puts it carefully away, before grabbing his shirt and pants ]

I'll just -- give you guys some privacy.

[ it feels like they have something to work through, something he'd be in the way of. ]

[ Sascha would insist he doesn't need to and feel bad for having imposed Winn out of the room if he could, but admittedly at the moment? Everything's all about Kitty, about what Kurt had told him of their world and that he'd died, that everything there was going to end which meant her too if she ever returns--and it's just too much.

He mumbles something, but it's muffled by her shirt. ]

[She gives Winn a helpless sort of look and considers asking him to stay, but Sascha isn't really answering in a way she can hear yet, so she's not sure what he needs.]

Everything's okay. Just tell me what happened.

[ he pulls his clothes on quickly, and gives sascha's shoulder a squeeze on the way out, mouthing 'kitchen' to kitty, in case they need to find him. he also makes sure to grab his communicator and show her he's got it, in case they don't want to leave the room to do so. ]

[ See Winn, this is why you're the best boyfriend ever. You just know what to do when it comes to impossible stuff like this. Sascha wouldn't know the first thing about how to ride it out if someone popped up in Bigby's room like this and latched onto him.

It's still going to take him a minute or two of swallowing and trying to get over the overwhelming sense of relief and despair he feels upon being able to physically reassure himself that Kitty's there, she hasn't died or gone anywhere yet before he can parse a reply, but when he does manage it his voice is thick with emotion and heavy, almost fearful. ]

't said...he said--your world's gone. And that means you...you are too.

[It takes a moment to process that.] Kurt said that? [He'd told her things were bad. She didn't exactly take away that it was...gone. The X-Men were dead but it's not like that's just the end, right? ...Maybe it was. Or maybe Sascha has it wrong.]

He said he was dead! [ That Sascha blurts out louder and with more desperation than he meant to, looking up at her with anxious eyes. ] And the whole universe--and everything! Even you!

[Softly.] Yes.

...But I'm alive here. I've been alive an extra almost year and a half.

But you can't be... [ Dead, in your world. Which no longer exists. Sascha's only just started to get to know her, to be friends and have someone who not only genuinely cares about him, but actually tries to work with him and help him despite his inadequacies and shortcomings. She doesn't even care that he feeds off of humans. She treats him like a person. ]

That's too soon!

It happened when it happened, Sascha. But I'm still here. Still alive.

But that means if you ever.... You'll be gone. [ He's not ready to have that happen when he's only barely met her. It feels like he's found and lost her at the same time, in a weird and displaced sort of way. Like he should mourn--only she's clearly right, and alive before him. ]

If I go back, but not if I end up in another place like this. I told you I was in a prison before and there are more places.

I barely got to even meet you though.

[ Before he found out all of this, is what he means. And that's what he's having the most trouble over: not the rational arguments and reasoning that makes perfect sense and assures him he should have no reason to worry now more than before. It's the irrationality of his emotions, his fears and worries and his growing attachment to her whcih by now far outranks anything he's experienced back home.

Abe will always have a place in his heart for finding Sascha and giving him a home, but crossing the abyss his status as a vampire presented was too much for even his kind heart. And at the time there hadn't been a chance to even begin crossing the mental and emotional bridges he's started with Kitty.

She means a lot to him, in ways he doesn't even really understand. ]

[She holds him closer and rubs his back.] I'm not going anywhere. [She can't promise it, but she doesn't intend to.]

[ And when she does he buckles a little so she'll be back down on the ground proper, desperate for that reassurance even if it's hollow at best. He knows neither of them have any influence over what the Atroma do despite how air-headed as he may be sometimes. It's just that it hit him so fast and completely unawares that he had "lost" her before they'd even really met, technically speaking.

Even if he'd outlive her in regular time anyway. It's a hard thing to really work out, and it's going to take a bit of time for him. He's already started checking on Kurt as soon as he wakes up every evening. ]

You have to live a really long time and grow old. Okay?

[ It's practically a plea. ]

I'll do my best. [But that doesn't even feel remotely possible to her. Old? Does he mean like 30?]

Come on. Let's lay down in the bed. [Because she doesn't want to drop to the floor or hold him up like this and because she knows that's important to him and he's hurting right now.]

[ HE'D PREFER 70 AND UPWARDS, ACTUALLY...

But lying down on the bed sounds good, and not just because it's a comforting spot for him and smells like Kitty. She makes it sound like she's actually going to be there with him this time, and that's really what he needs right now. To have her be there.

So he nods mutely even though he's obviously reluctant to let go of her in any fashion, so she might need to take the lead on this one. Normally he'd be all for hopping onto the bed and dragging her over, but... ]

[Wow, dreaming big for one of the X-Men who isn't Logan.

She gently pulls back, but takes his hand so as not to break contact fully. She leads him to the bed and lays down first scooting back and coaxing him to join her.]

[ Why can't any of you die of old age???

Sascha's hand grips her firmly when she takes it, not rough or anything but enough that it's clear he's loathed to be parted from her in any sense right now. The moment she makes room for him on the bed he's right there, huddling up as close as he'll let her. Any other day he'd be wary and careful about it, but right now he just needs that reassurance. ]

[She secures her arms around him and lets him be as close as he wants.] You hear my heartbeat, right? I'm okay.

[And not to be rude and not completely present, but she does sneak her communicator into her palm to send Winn a message.]

He found out I died.
