any time after the shuffle, some Accendo bar
The second plus? The bar. Absolutely the bar. Ordinarily she saves drinking for special occasions or when Sera or the Iron Bull are particularly persuasive, but it has been a very long week on top of a very long campaign against evil. She's ready for a break, a real moment to relax.
She's having a bit of trouble at the bar, however.]
Maraas-lok, it's- well, it's a bit like drinking fire, not at all pleasant, you must- oh, never mind. Just something strong, then.
[Once she has her drink, she'll set up shop in a less populated area and likely stay for far too long, people watching and drinking, like any good elf would do.]

His head perks up at the sound of Qunlat, and he turns to look at Jove from his corner near the bar. He recognises her from the network, and gives an appreciative whistle.]
You actually drank Maraas-lok? And you have all your motor functions? I'm impressed.
no subject
It was only once, to be fair. After killing a dragon. Would you mind if I joined you?
[Familiar faces sticking together and all that.]
no subject
[He gives her a look, she IS a mage, but he has learned to be more tolerable, largely because he's been stuck with Merrill for so long. Most mages are better company than Merrill is. He gives a non-committal shrug.]
If you wish. I am not always enthralling company.
no subject
I do. The Iron Bull, was the name he chose for himself. He was very insistent on the the. Did you spend a lot of time in Seheron?
no subject
[That is something, indeed. Not even the rebels did that, not truly.]
A little. I spent a few months with a group of Fog Warriors.
no subject
[She misses them, all of them, even though she tries not to dwell. When had she become so dependent on the inhabitants of Skyhold anyway?]
Bull mentioned the Fog Warriors, once. About how their fog would roll in and there would be no hope, just the "vints" shouting for their slaves and hearing no answer.
no subject
[He loves them like family. Except Anders. Fuck Anders. ]
That is very accurate, yes. I certainly admired them, they were impressive warriors, truly free.
no subject
Right, of course. It will just have to be their loss, then.
[She's starting to put things together here, to get a picture of exactly why Fenris had been so curious about Dorian. To her knowledge they Fog Warriors were a strictly Qunari thing, and the Maraas-lok had been specially imported from Seheron. If Fenris is an elf for Tevinter, the picture painted can be few things.
She won't ask, she won't pry and she won't hint. It isn't a topic that ever feels easy to talk about and she hardly knows Fenris, but she'd like to keep things as positive as they can be. Maybe she's wrong. She would very much like to be wrong.]
Did you have Maraas-lok with them? You still seem to be in control of your own motor functions.

He walks in, and he can't help but smile at the familiar shock of white hair. Dorian steps close and gently rests a hand at her waist, coming to sit beside her at the bar.]
Well, aren't you a sight for sore eyes.
no subject
He may sit, but she doesn't. Once she knows the hand belongs to him and she hears his voice, there's no stopping her.]
Dorian.
[She throws her arms around his neck and hugs him as tightly as she can, hands grasping at the fabric of his shirt with no care for any wrinkles it might cause. He'll have to live with it because she's not about to let go.]
no subject
So he held her close, and tried to choke back the tears in his eyes because she was here, and he wasn't alone, now. Certainly, he had the others in the fleet, but he was only inching toward closeness with them. Jove was more dear to him than he knew how to say, and when he pulled back from her, he wiped at his eyes and smiled.
Dorian was always an emotional boy, for all of his facade. He felt things, and felt them deeply, and right now he looked at her and felt joy.]
Good to see you, too. It was beginning to feel like you were trapped in that ship for ages.
no subject
Believe me, I know.
[She's reluctant to let go of him, so she compromises but taking his face in her hands and wiping his tears away with her thumbs. A year ago the idea of a human becoming her best friend would have been enough to make her laugh herself sick, but there's no denying it now. She adores this man and likely will for the rest of her life.]
None of this, now. You're far too handsome and you'll ruin your lovely mustache.
no subject
Dorian was never a typical man in Tevinter in some ways, and certainly, others would only think of him poorly for being so fond of an elf. But he never cared what others thought of him- he followed his heart. In his heart, he knew that Jove was a remarkable woman, even aside from all of the Inquisitor business.
It wasn't what she was, but who she was, that he cared for.]
Oh, indeed. And here I am, only recently being able to wax it properly. I'm glad that you didn't have to see me before I discovered Adsum. Dreadful, dreadful business, I looked worse than I did when I first arrived in Ferelden.
no subject
[She tilts his head down enough for her to go up on her tiptoes and kiss his forehead, then finally releases him in favor of taking his wrist in one hand and retrieving her drink with the other.]
Come with me, we're going to sit and talk and drink until we can't see straight.
no subject
[He smiles. Her kiss is like a benediction, not one from the Herald of Andraste, or from a holy figure, but the mundane sort of blessing that he never got from his mother.
He lets himself be led away, and he smiles a bit.]
You'll have to let me go at some point, but until then, I'll drink with you. Believe it would be frowned upon if we fell sleep at the table, and I have an engagement on Adsum...best that I don't arrive reeking of alcohol, much as I'd love to drink you under the table.
no subject
[She lets him go only once they've reached a table so she can pull out a chair to collapse into, and once she does she puts her hand over heart.]
Forsaken already. I see how fickle you are.

[Either way, she definitely had the air of someone from the fleet. So when she sets up shop not far from where he's sitting, he'll speak up. Even in this bar, it was easy for someone with his hearing to hear her order at the bar]
You know, if you want liquor that's unpleasant and tastes like fire, you could always ask if anyone's got leftovers from the last couple planets we visited.
no subject
I really was only looking for something strong, if I'm honest. You do have me curious about the other planets now, though. Were they unpleasant, if their alcohol was that bad?
no subject
Oh, I'm afraid so. One was a dust ball with people who liked wearing skull facepaint, another was a place stuck in a perpetual winter...
[He considers a bit]
The third wasn't bad. It had a spa, and an enchanted forest that wasn't full of undead or monsters. Never seen that before.
no subject
Which begs the question, have you seen enchanted forests that are full of undead or monsters?
no subject
Sure. I went to school near one. Grizzly place.
no subject
There was a school near something so dangerous?
no subject
Well, it wasn't in the backyard, but yeah. You could see it from the rooftop, sure.
Most knew to stay out of it, and it was pretty rare for undead to wander out of the forest, so it's not like we were constantly fearing for our lives.
no subject
And that was seen as... normal, to have a school so near that?
