Who: Itty Bitty Obi-Wan + You
Broadcast: Y
Action: SS Huntress
When: Now
[ Video ]
[ The feed shakes for a few minutes before it centers on a young thirteen year old boy. He has the trademark padawan braid and robes as he sits on his knees in front of the camera. His expression is quiet and muted, though it seems like he hasn't had much sleep. His eyes are red-rimmed and tired. ]
Hello. If you could tell me if this ship is heading to Coruscant, I would be grateful. If not, I'd be happy to earn my way there through any duties you deem necessary.
[ He hesitates, pausing for far too long, biting on his lip. ] And if you -- you have seen Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn.
Thank you.
[ Action ]
[ Obi-Wan weaves himself through the ship, his shoulders hunched and his saber in a tight white-knuckled grip. Surely Qui-Gon wouldn't have left him here . . . not after coming back. Not after their discussion.
Then again, what rights did Obi-Wan even possess?
He tugs the hood over his face and keeps a wary eye on everyone who came close. This was a strange vessel and their responses got even more confusing. Best to keep to himself until he got to Coruscant. ]

He sings as he works, a song of strong walls and white towers (of Gondolin, although he never saw his cousin's city, only heard the tales later), and if he spots Obi-Wan, he'll start to elaborate on it, painting the pictures for the young man of the people who lived in it, a story for him to listen to - the seven great gates, the tall king and his free-spirited sister, the seven captains of his guard, his beautiful daughter and his bright young grandson. ]

Finishing he looks up to see if he can spot his listener ]
Hello? Will you come out? I promise I do not bite.
Re: action
I didn't mean to -- disturb.
action
Maglor smiles at him invitingly and pats the spot beside him in silent question ]
You did not, youngling. As you can see, I am rather at a loss, myself, although I am enjoying the learning. What of yourself? Did I distract you from something of your own?
Re: action
No. I'm just . . . supposed to be here until it's time for me to return to Coruscant. That's what everyone says.
action
I see. Coruscant is your home, then? It must be strange to be away without knowing why. Will you tell me of it? I do not think I have ever heard of Coruscant.
Re: action
[ He looks down at his saber. ] I'm really going to the Jedi Temple there . . . to see if they'll let me back in.
action
[ He follows his gze ]
Why would they not? You seem a very polite and plesant young man to me.
Re: action
action
I think 'not listening' is something we all do, from time to time! That you are willing to return, I think, speaks well of you, and shows a maturity of spirit that your Master should value.
Re: action
[ Cerasi was dead. Nield turned on him. He sacrificed everything for Melida/Daan and they couldn't accept him. ]
action
I am sorry. That is the hardest thing, to realise that the home for which you long is no longer yours. I wish you had not needed to learn that.
Re: action
No. That wasn't what was hard. What -- What was hard is -- is that she died. In my arms. I felt her go cold.
action
I am so sorry - none should ever have to know that grief, especially not so young.
Re: action
I was so close and I couldn't even stop it. If I had been more of a Jedi, I could have.
action
I do not know what the tale that brings you so much grief is, in full - but youngling, we cannot save everyone, and sometimes, no matter what we do, we cannot save even those closest to us. I am sure, you tried your best. And in the end, that is all any of us can do.
Re: action
I . . . really liked her.
action
It always hurts more when it is someone dear to us. Would it help to speak of it?

Re: action
[ He didn't resent his Master. Or blame him. It is their way. ] He keeps his emotions under control.
action
Re: action
[ It was a difficult time. He knew Qui-Gon didn't trust him, didn't know what to do with him. Obi-Wan had lost his way. ]
