[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

MINGLING/BAR

[ tonight sees the fateful return of peggy's blonde wig -- this time curled and pinned to at least give the illusion of a shorter cut -- so she could complete her costume as ginger rogers. throughout the night, there might also appear a hat of somewhat dramatic proportions.

she's social enough: making idle chit-chat with familiar faces, once she puzzles through their costumes. or she's caught at the bar, trying to order something that most resembles a stiff whiskey. frankly, halloween doesn't mean much to her. but the pumpkin pie? she adores the pumpkin pie. someone might very well catch her pilfering a second piece. ]

WILDCARD

[ take your chances asking ginger rogers to dance. or maybe you want to try and talk her into chaperoning you through the haunted house -- either way, most people might find it a bit of a challenge to coax her away from the mildest of mingling. ]

[Kitty doesn't recognize the "blonde" at the bar when she stands next to her trying to decide what to get. She is pretty noticeable in her red, white and blue costume though.]

[ as dry british phrases went, the delivery of this is both exceptionally dry and exceptionally british. peggy picks up her drink, takes a long gulp, and eyes the costume standing next to her. ] Poor thing. Did you lose a bet?

[ that uniform was, is, and will always be a chorus-show tragedy. ]

[Kitty glances down at herself as if she doesn't know what she's wearing.] Well, the guy who suggested it is named Winn, so I kind of always lose by default.

[Okay, the pun's a little forced. That threw her off though. She's already a little embarrassed about the outfit, worried that Steve might find it offensive.]

Not a fan? Is it because I look like a flag exploded on me?

Not that I'm not a fan, precisely, only -- [ goodness. what's the kindest way to say it? ] It brings back memories. As USO tailoring goes, I actually think the dancers were better dressed.

[ best to just rein it in entirely, she supposes: ] Winn, though. I've met Winn. Knowing him, the suggestion must have been well-intentioned.

Oh, yeah, of course it was well-intentioned. We wouldn't make fun of Steve. Winn just knows about... [Trailing off. Not weird, right?]

So, memories? You weren't a USO dancer, were you?

[ oh, now she will laugh. ]

Me? A dancer. No -- not at all. [ a little ironic, she thinks, given her costume. but that's neither here nor there.

putting it mildly: ] But I saw a few of the shows. His shows.

Mingling!

Backwards and in heels?

[It takes a moment, but Natasha figures it out. She's quick that way.]

That sounds about right.

[ a flicker of confusion crosses her features -- mostly because it's a quote about ginger that she hasn't had the pleasure of living through, yet. but the sentiment isn't exactly lost on her. peggy recognizes natasha and allows herself a mischievous smile. what a costume! ]

Good God, woman, [ she raises her brows. ] You'll have them all walking into walls while they try and catch a glance.

[Natasha knows it's one she's appreciated at times, at least. Women face the same thing in so many fields.]

I don't think anyone's quite that desperate. But might as well put on a show, right?

[ she imagines desperation has little to do with it -- but she doesn't quibble the same sort of off-handed deflection she might also make. instead, she tips her over-sized hat in a gesture of respect. ]

I'm not convinced I quite understand the physics of the garment so -- yes, quite a show indeed.

[ what is double-sided tape? or reliable elasticity? ]

[Double sided tape was used judiciously, you better believe it.]

You came as a dancer, didn't you? You make it sound like you're not going to be, one way or the other.

[There's a slightly serious note in her voice, gone almost before it can register. It's replaced by something more humorous.]

Ginger always danced best when she had the right partner. [ well-disciplined, she doesn't let her eyes wander the hall in search of her matching astaire. ] And the right music. I wouldn't know the first thing to do with some of this -- throbbing, electronic stuff. There seems to be an awful lot of wiggling involved.

[ she laughs. ]

[ sliding up next to her as she's taking that piece of pie to refill his own plate, he offers her a little smile that may be a touch apprehensive - a little kitty whispered to him that she may not be the biggest fan of her costume, and he wants to make sure no offense was given, because absolutely no offense was meant. to him, these costumes are a show of respect.

pulling off his mask so she can easily recognize him - and also because it gets hot in that thing - he reveals the dismal state of his hair under there. it's ok to laugh. ]

Pretty good, right? [ nodding at the pie ]

[ thinking herself unobserved, peggy sucks a smudge of pumpkin pie filling off the edge of her thumb. so -- when winn slides up beside her -- she lets out an awkward, thin-sounding chuckle. with his mask removed, she quickly identifies him. ]

Mister Schott. [ a dip of her chin -- a mild greeting. neither chilly nor warm. as is her way. ] Who made the pie?

[ mister schott, it makes him feel like he's in trouble already. ]

It was a Party Team joint effort.

Whoever said that too many cooks spoil the broth clearly hadn't had the pleasure of meeting your...party team, [ she seems uncertain, at first, about committing to the funny little term. ]

It's all quite lovely. [ if tacky, though she's assured by natasha that tackiness is part of the point. ] I can't say we ever did much in the way of Halloween back home.

[ england, this time. and not simply the '40s at large. ]

Thanks - [ he smiles widely at the compliments. ] well, now's your chance to make up for lost time, it's the funnest holiday.

[ it's pretty clear that he, at least, is having a great time. ] I like your costume - who's it of?

[ well, it's a question that was bound to rise eventually. ]

I suppose it's possible the name Ginger Rogers doesn't carry much water by the year twenty...sixteen, was it? Or is it fifteen?

[ it's hard to differentiate, sometimes.

[I got your alien not!whiskey right here, Peggy. Nami slides it over, giving the costume a look somewhere between confused and admiring. It's another one she doesn't recognise.]

I like the arrows.

They're iconic, [ peggy explains as she trades credits for booze. ] Though admittedly, that's only the case of people of a certain time and place. This holiday seems to be a bit tricky like that.

Iconic, huh? Like... Valentine's Day? [It's the only thing she can think of.]

Like Carefree. As in the film. But cinema, I imagine, is a fickle reference point. We don't all have it in common.

You'd be right. I've never heard of cinema before. But films are like... the Errol Flynn movies, right?

Precisely. [ a beat. ] Now, Errol Flynn. He's a handsome man.
