I have been thinking about this for quite some time, watching others come and go.. [ He sighs, rubbing at his cheek. ]

What has this place done to you or your memories? Have you gained anything from being here that you could not have wherever home is meant to be?

[ Kara knocks on the doorway to the kitchen. she looks a little more subdued than the last time she saw him but she's still smiling. she waves a little ]

Hope it's okay I came over. I heard you were looking for answers.

[ Pietro looks up at her when she knocks, easy grin sliding into place. It's still much easier to act aloof to negative situations. ]

It is always okay. There aren't many places to go, after all.

[ He offers the seat next to him or across the table. ]

That being said, whatever happens at home could easily happen here and vice-versa. We lack full control but the events - the tragedies and the joys are the same because they come from us, not from the place.

I have met people I otherwise would not have..But there are things that have happened here that-- [ He pauses, mouth drawing in a thin line. ]

If it is something that bears repeating, I don't think I can take it.

I guess... just being in space is enough. Meeting people I would never know existed back home, seeing all of these different worlds... if I wasn't here, I'd never have done any of that.

It's given me new memories, and I made new friends. I think that counts for a lot.

Yes, those are good experiences. Some of these places have been nothing like home, so that is something to remember.

I lost my husband in my world. He was killed, taken from me. Upon arriving in this place, I learned that he had been brought here as well.

I get a second chance at a life with him.

I gained quite a bit.

It's better to be here with family than home without.

Other than the fact that I can shoot weapons I never learned, I don't think I'm otherwise affected. But I haven't been here very long.

I never insisted it didn't have merit. My question was if this place has tampered with you or your memories.

[ He's had quite a number of people telling him how great their memories here are, but that's not really what he's asking. ]

[ -- is someone making tea? because peggy seems prepared to almost breeze by the kitchen door, but the scent of something steeping slows her steps and she hangs by the threshold for a moment. ]

Pietro. [ gentle-ish. his given name, too, because he is a part of this little tied-together family. she'd caught his broadcast earlier, and it had struck a nerve. an emotion. ] You're awfully pensive today.

[ she approaches the table. ]

[ He's busy browsing the network, one hand wrapped around his still-steaming mug when he hears his name. Pietro looks up. Ah, he's summoned the tea hound. He offers her a slow, crooked grin. ]

Captain. [ He takes a sip of his tea, humming. ]

It doesn't do well to keep things inside, lest they fester.

[There's so much of Pietro's short message that Erik doesn't even want to touch. But after a few hours trying not to think about it, he has to admit to himself that avoiding Pietro because of it is immature at best.]

[Pietro's probably noticed Max around, here and there, on the Starstruck. And yes, Max probably hasn't tried even remotely to talk to Pietro; no offense, but Max is kind of an asocial dick who has trust issues like no other. But. Max also has a secret care for Wanda, and he's trying to... be good.

So. He's gonna actually initiate conversation.

Memories like what?

[Gruff, blunt, but not cruel. He sits in the cargo bay with his old mutt Rock, rubbing between the dog's ears absently.]

[ Oh, hey weird cargo bay hobo. He has taken notice of Max, though he's had little inclination to talk to him. He has pet the dog on a few occasions, but usually nothing more than a quick pat to the head or rub of an ear. It's only fair that he try to get to know the rest of the crew, isn't it?

Pietro is a bit of a brat, anyway. Especially these past few months with everything happening in quick succession. He hasn't wanted to leave his room much. Or Wanda's. ]

Whatever you want it to be. Things this place has made you forget.. or remember differently? Some people have told me memories they cherish from this place. I suppose I was a little too vague in my questioning.
