Iskaulit Mingle - Problems with Psychics
Who: Anyone on the Iskaulit!
Broadcast: If you'd like?!
Action: Iskaulit!
When: Today, as Sora's augment glitch starts.
[It's your average day on the Iskaulit. Absolutely nothing seems out of place initially, but without any warning- you might find yourself or your friends experiencing some problems. What's up on that?
In other words, it's an Iskaulit mingle with a twist! Come on in everyone! You don't need to interact with Sora to have it effect you, so feel free to start your own threadstarter! Or talk to Sora, that's cool too. ]

Soon enough he hears the quiet steps approaching him, the rustle of clothes, and the proximity of another body. He can smell the leather of Dezel's jacket, faint and familiar. He hadn't really noticed it much before, but now it's all he has. He lifts his head to look (not that it'll help), and while there's no wound on his eyes or around them, the colour is a pale silver instead of the violet it ought to be, and his gaze won't focus on Dezel directly.]
It doesn't hurt... it just feels weird. What about you?

[He lets out a sigh of resignation, soft but still noticeable. He'd hoped Mikleo was just disoriented and not totally blind but the proof is right there in front of him. He feels so damn guilty. He'd never trade his powers with anyone else on purpose; he'd never inflict his curse on anyone else willingly.
Maybe someone else would find some levity in this situation and joke about it, but Dezel's never really been the type. He finds comfort in cold, hard facts. He can lean on those. He thinks Mikleo is the same.]
It's probably an augment glitch. You can always tag along inside Sorey and wait it out.
[He makes a thoughtful noise.]
If you walk with me, I can answer your questions while we look for him.
no subject
I'd rather avoid telling Sorey for now. He'd just worry too much if he saw this.
[He'd only recently recovered from his temporary death and revival. Seeing him stumbling around again, and blind on top of that, would just bring back bad memories of those days, surely.]
You'll... have to lead the way for a while, though. [A pause, and then-] You can see, can't you?
no subject
All right.
[He doesn't let go entirely; one hand stays on Mikleo's upper arm, keeping him grounded. Dezel knows how easy it is to float away when you feel the wind around you.]
... Yeah, I can. It's...
[He never thought he'd miss it but it's kind of nice to see what his friends actually look like. He's already started to forget the exact angle of Rose's cute nose, which is something he's ashamed of. The brief flashes of being in the armatus were always limited by battle. It's not like he could just stop in the middle and ask Rose to pose for him or something.]
It's strange after all this time, [he says finally.] Not bad.
You look about as young as you sound, but it still surprised me somehow. [It's okay, Dezel. Mikleo is super cute.]
no subject
That's good, actually, and it helps Mikleo to relax a little. This is his first real glitch, but he's seen how temporary they can be, and if that's what it really is... it's worth it, if it gives Dezel the chance to experience what he's lost. To see his friends, and to enjoy the sights that they've all taken for granted. He's not happy to be the unfortunate trade-off, granted, but this is something he can tolerate. Dezel deserves it.
...And then he goes and says that, and all of Mikleo's charity bursts like a bubble.]
I'm not that young! I'm not even that much younger than you!
no subject
Are you saying I look like a kid?!
[The temptation to ditch Mikleo somewhere is real.]
I'm at least twenty... something... I think. [You know what, not important.]
no subject
[Eighteen is totally close to twenty-something! Or at least close enough. This isn't like comparing himself to Edna, who's probably like a thousand years old.]
Anyway, obviously this means you should find Sorey, at least. He'd be happy to know you can see.
no subject
Dezel gets Mikleo's angle here, but he's not having any of it.]
I'm not leaving you alone like this. Not until you can get around by yourself.
no subject
[He likes being self-sufficient, but that doesn't mean he's happy to stumble around the ship looking like an idiot. And he's essentially trapped on the Iskaulit unless the situation changes or someone flies him back. He can't fly a shuttle blind.]
Just... at some point. Before this reverses itself.
[It'd be nice for the both of them, okay?]
no subject
But they should take the good things where they can, and leave the rest.]
All right.
[He gently guides Mikleo around a corner, steering him with patient tugs to his sleeve and slow, measured steps. After a moment, he slips his hat off his head and plonks it down on Mikleo's.]
This is probably the best place to learn how to read the wind. When it's gusty it tends to go everywhere. You'll find it easier to concentrate with the dead air.
But first you need to learn how to control the wind. You have to tell it where to go-- you have to give it a purpose. A destination. [Not unlike wind seraphim.]
no subject
[Also not unlike wind seraphim. He lifts a hand to touch at the brim of the hat, brows furrowing, and tries to reach out to the air around them, the way he would reach out for water.
He feels something graze over his hand, almost gently, and then it suddenly bursts between them like a miniature tornado, blowing the hat to a jaunty angle on his head, a mere inch away from falling right off.]
...Like that. I didn't tell it to do that.
no subject
You thought about the hat. That's what it picked up on.
[Trying to be serious, now.]
Concentrate on the walls in here. You want to know where they are without touching them. If it helps, you can hold out your hands.
no subject
....
Using. The. Wind.
Right.
Dammit.]
You make this look way easier than it actually is.
no subject
[Anyway.]
If you're that tense, you won't be able to concentrate... You're thinking too hard about what it is. [He sighs lightly.] Let's think about water instead. Think of all the water that's suspended in the air, even if you can't see it. Imagine you're pushing it away from yourself.
no subject
He can't reach for it the same way as he used to - it hurts, that cruel disconnection of such a huge part of himself - but the feeling is the same. There are echoes, found in this new experience. He tries using that instead of forcing it, closing blind eyes as if that'll make a difference. After trying for a while, his brows furrow, fingers curling.]
I think... I can feel them? A little bit, anyway. The wind keeps bouncing off of something in every direction.
[While he's messing around, a small gust of the drifting air bumps into Dezel, too.]
