Who: Varric and open
Broadcast: Video, and open!
Action: The Huntress crew & visitors.
When: The end of March (after dragon stuff I guess?)
[action;]
[After taking a nice hot shower to wash off a month's worth of dust, Varric is back in business being his nosy self. You bet he's checking the food stores to see how much of the crap he imported is still there, as well as the cargo bay because 1. that's where his desk is and 2. he had a buttload of alcohol there last time he checked.
But really, he's just wandering around so that he can check on his crewmates. He's worried by some of the things he's reading, and he hasn't even set foot on the planet yet.]
[video;]
[Varric eventually settles at his desk and turns on the nearest comm console. Honestly, he looks like nothing's changed. At all. But there is a nervous energy in how his fingers dance along the edge of his makeshift desk, rustling some papers.]
Good evening. Did you all miss me? Don't be shy, we have all night. [Is his chest hair visible? Yes it is.]
I think I'm mostly caught up on what I missed during my exceptionally long beauty nap. [His brown eyes glimmer dangerously in the low light.] Something about peasant uprisings and dragons? Sounds like home.

It would have been worthy of one of your stories. Too bad you missed it, Dwarf.
[Ugh, he is so glad you're back, you little pain in the ass.]
video;
You'll just have to tell me all about it so I can write it into my next book.
[A pause, and then--] I'm glad you're still in one piece, elf.

[And because he is the opposite of a ray of sunshine: ]
Merrill has left. I do not know where. And as you can see, Hawke has a arrived. Neither yours nor mine, technically, but Hawke all the same.
[Kind of his roundabout way of checking if you're okay with all of this, bro. ]

Did you hear, Hawke's here! Not yours, though, I think, considering he is very much not a woman.

It'll take a little getting used to, but already he feels a smile coming back to his face, and something like relief. He hasn't seen Hawke in a while. A long while. Too long, honestly, and he misses her. He'll take any Hawke he can get in this insane place.]
The elf already gave me a heads up it could happen, so you won't get any shocked fainting from me. You're... about what I expected. Just less... heh, bouncy.

Anyway, someone opened a library and I don't think anyone's donated any of your books yet.

[He quirks an eyebrow.] That so? I'll see what I can do about a printing press. Do you still have the last book I loaned you?

Exceptionally long beauty nap? Are such things common place here?
video;
First time I've ever heard of it. But, considering they put books in our heads, I'm not ruling it out as impossible.
I don't think we've met. [He bows his head.] Varric Tethras. Storyteller, rogue, and occasional oversleeper.
