[You know those bizarrely dangerous little home chemistry sets that used to be sold to kids in the 50s? Mikleo's kind of set up one of those using the Huntress supplies in a district of town where a bunch of food is available, canned or fresh, and he's switching between checking his comm, flipping through what probably might pass for a science textbook, dripping this chemical onto that food sample, and... well, he probably thinks he looks professional, but he's really just messing around- and in at least one attempt, making an actual, literal mess. There might be a fire. Be glad he's a water seraph.
Oh, and for those without resonance, all those floating beakers probably look super weird.]
( b. he definitely wasn't scared )
[So, someone convinced him to go watch a horror movie at the cinema. Who was it? Was it you? Who knows, doesn't matter. He's there, either way. And he endures it for a while! He's very brave. Fought lots of monsters. He makes it a good ways in.
And then...]
I was not scared! It only startled me!
[It's a very bold proclamation for someone who completely decimated the screen during a jump scare. Seriously, it's a disaster- if you go in there's still massive chunks of ice sticking out of the back wall behind the torn screen. Good thing it'll be fixed tomorrow!
Oh, and he does the same thing to one of the roller coasters at the amusement park, so have fun with that.]
( enough is enough )
[Like many others, it doesn't take Mikleo long to be seriously creeped out by this place. So don't be surprised if he's just kinda... following you around... but it's not because he wants to be alone anywhere in this place, no sir.
In other words, wildcard!]
b
Meebo, you just -- you killed the thing -- Mikleo--!!
[ Please, don't murder him like you did the movie. ]
no subject
Stop that! You were surprised too, weren't you!? It looked like a hellion!
no subject
[ He's still snickering, reaching out to nudge Mikleo gently. ]
C'mon, it was kinda funny.

Weird combination of chemicals or somethin'? Heh. What's that all supposed to tell you anyway?
no subject
...It's supposed to help detect poisons or impurities in the food. Theoretically.
[He waves a hand over the surface of the table, trying to blow away some of the lingering smoke. Now his samples are soggy...]
no subject
Ohh. Did you see anything before it caught on fire? ... Then got soaked? ... D'you need more food?
[ He jerks his thumb toward the nearby convenience store. At least there's no worry about wasting anything?? ]

If it falls apart so easily, then it's a good thing I broke it before it killed someone while they rode it! Look at that, thing, it's a death trap.

[He sits in his seat nearby with his hands held out in the loosest 'guess I'll just die' pose and a look of both surprise and mild disappointment. Man, he spilled his popcorn everywhere from that ice jump scare you just performed in-person.]

What the hell was that thing!?

A!
[By this point, Pete is less weirded out by the strange floating beakers and more grateful for them- it gives him a definite indicator of where his invisible captain actually was.
That way, when he sets down the box full of freshly cleaned petri dishes, beakers, and other assorted supplies, he can make sure he doesn't set it on him. After that, it's just a matter of unpacking them, then gathering up the next batch to be cleaned up- why do some of them have scorch marks?]
Find out anything?
[like whether it's the apples or the oranges that are flammable? Because honestly Mikleo how did you even]
no subject
No indication of poison or dangerous contents yet... though that's assuming I'm even doing this correctly.
no subject
Hey, that's what those augment things are for, right? It's...probably right.
[Then again, testing for poison >> accidentally setting the place on fire is an odd direction, but he's gonna have faith.]
But, hey, if you really wanna be sure, I can grab some of the hazardous stuff off the ship. You can run the same test on those- I mean, we already know it's dangerous, so you could check your accuracy that way!
[Giving Mikleo dangerous chemicals to work with might not be the best plan, but it's at least a plan.]

b
I apologize, shall we pick a movie more tame next time?
no subject
THAT'S DOUBLY SCARY!!]

She just wishes she had more water. She can practice her control and her stamina this way, but not really push her strength. ...oh well.
She settles in with some basic moves first, just practicing her forms. She moves the water with graceful, precise movements.]
no subject
It's rude to just sit here and watch for too long, though, so finally he calls out,]
Your form is very beautiful.
[Testing the waters, so to speak- he has no idea of her resonance, after all. He's hopeful, though! It'd be nice to talk to a fellow water enthusiast.]
no subject
She gasps and turns around, the water coating her arms, to see...
Sand. A few scrubs of grass. The moon overhead.
...] Hello? I can't see you. [She wants to ask 'Is someone there', but that feels stupid, because... well, someone clearly spoke, and it was a kind compliment, but, you know... where did the voice come from?]
