[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu.  I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea.  Shut up.

...okay.  It may just be a good excuse for a party.  Sue her.]

[ Even if it's just a job and a relief one at that, Loki comes prepared. He's dressed well in Midgardian clothing and his hair curled over his shoulder, a small silver ring around it like a small ponytail. The way he moves drinks and glasses around is so deft, it feels like a slight of hand and you can't help staring at the movements. You may not even realize your drink was made until he slides it over to you, green eyes bright. ]

That is yours, I believe.

[Huh. That's some showmanship. Nami's not ordering from Loki, but she's certainly watching how fluidly he moves. She has some severe misgivings about shoving not-particularly-homicidal gods behind a bar, but she's gotta admit he brings game.]

[ He notices her watching. ]

Something wrong?

Nope. [Because she's hardly hiding what she's doing. It's a good show.] I'm just admiring your flair.

[ Loki shrugs. ]

Sometimes people need a show to get their minds off things.

[Vash watches that display and gives a long whistle once his drink arrives.] Remind me to never play three card monte with you.

[ Loki smirks. ]

It is generally unwise to play cards with me. Though I do miss the game at times.

You'll find it difficult finding players if you keep showing off how quick your hands are.

[ Loki shrugs. ]

I would have had trouble either way.

[ His name isn't conducive to fair and proper conduct. ]

[Keith stared at the glass in front of him. Showy, definitely, but Keith was a visual person. He'd been able to follow some the movements fairly well... for a midgardian that happened to also be part-alien. Though, he wasn't entirely sure where it started. He had lost it a few times during the display.

He looked up at Loki.]

What is it?

[Other than... 'a drink'. He knew that much.]

[ Loki has no idea of mortal ages. For all he knows, this person might be ten and he'd still serve them booze. ]

I believe this is called Daiquiri.

[Keith stared at it for a second.]

Never had one before.

[He cautiously took a sip.]

Mmph... [He wasn't sure if he liked it.] That's really sweet. What's in it? [He'd try another sip just to be sure.]

Rum, juice and sugar syrup.

[ Loki shrugs. ]

I can make a different one.

[Oh, hey. Lance is a little tipsy by now, but he's pretty sure that this guy--Loki, right, that was his name--must be extra skilled at this. He raises his eyebrow, but smiles as he takes the glass.]

Wow, nice! You make bartending look like... I dunno, like magic or something.

Magic is many things. It is not all glitter and glamour.

[ And Loki uses magic when he needs to. He has plenty of skills, plenty of knowledge. Magic is a tool he respects to save for last. ]

Yeah? Magic doesn't really exist where I come from. Well...cross that out, it does, I guess, but not on my home planet.

[He takes a sip of the drink. Tasty! Okay, he'll forgive this guy for throwing a knife at him back at the last system...]

[Remy WAS NOT happy at the choice of bar help they had, not at all. He wished Nami had given him a heads up, but he couldn't blame her, he never really spoke about his dislike for Loki.

Though dislike was quite an understatement.

More likely he wanted to throw him out of the closest airlock.

It was a good thing the bar didn't have one...

But he would just have to put up with it. Wasn't the place or time to be dealing with his hang ups on the guy, not while they were at work. Instead he just kept himself busy, bringing up extra ingredients as they ran low, working on mixes that he had been practicing for the night, keeping busy and keeping his mouth shut. It would be later in the night before he relaxed and started acting more like a customer than worker.

Though Remy was certainly not going to let Loki mix his drink, instead reaching over the bar to grab what he wanted and putting them into a glass.] I think 'm good on m' own. [Also he's not impressed with your smoothness, he can do that too, you know. Unless it was magic, and even then, Remy's seen it all before with Loki.]

[ Loki merely cocks an eyebrow before glancing at Nami to see if this was acceptable. Since she doesn't react, Loki merely shrugs and moves on. Dislike on sight is nothing new to him and he's hardly going to lose sleep over it. ]

[Hell, he was going to do it anyways, look or not. Loki would just have to deal with it.

That thought did sound a lot more like a certain missing friend than his own voice, enough to have him take pause while pouring his glass. Damnit, Rogue isn't even here and she's putting him in his place. Best/worse friendship ever.

Sighing softly to himself, Remy finished up with the bottle he was using, moving to put it away again before taking a large sip of his drink. He was going to need it.] Ya been here a few months by now, non?
