[ The feed starts with Sara adjusting the camera and pursing her lips, then flashing a waxy smile that doesn't go anywhere near her eyes ]

Hi, so, I'm going to need you to go ahead and let me out of here and return me to my ship. I mean, we could do this the long way, but you really, really won't like that. It will be long. And painful. Possibly over days. The thing I'm going to assume you didn't realize about me before you decided to make this incredibly idiotic move is that I don't take kindly to cages. They're not really my thing, and I have a particular prejudice against the people who want to put me in them.

But hey.

[ She puts her hands up in a conciliatory manner ]

Maybe I'm reading this entire situation the wrong way. Just come and get me, we'll talk, and I won't even break your fingers for it. Promise.

[ She rolls her eyes, sighs, and switches off the camera ]

Yeah. That would be Rip, who used to be the captain. But things happen, founders go on to found time cops, you know. The usual.

Magneto never founded time cops that I know of, but I guess some people are just really into founding things.

Magneto? Tell me that's not what his parents named him.

Erik. Magneto was his codename. That was kind of a thing. [A thing that isn't all that secret back home or she wouldn't have just offered Erik.]

I do, but in my defense I was only fourteen when I chose it.

[She smiles back.] Where did the Canary part come from?

I just like birds. I assume it's the same for cats for you.

[ of course that's not it, but she doesn't actually know kitty well enough to talk about her family ]

It's more because my name is Kitty and I thought it kind of went with the claws. [Not that she's mentioned the claws and they aren't extended, but she is wearing the gauntlets on her wrist. Of course when they're in they just look like very extra bracelets.]

But a girl who hates cats isn't going to voluntarily call herself Kitty.

Mmm... [She sticks an arm out, away from Sara and pops the claws sending 3 sharp blades out of their containment.] Had to get it rebuilt here though since weapons didn't come across with me.

Very nice. Not bulky at all. Bet you could do some real damage with those.

Definitely can. The adamantium ones from home were stronger, but we found some tough alien metal. And easier than carrying around a sword all the time.

Is there somewhere we go for weapons or do we have to buy them on planets?

You can get a gun from the ship-provided arsenal, make something or commission someone on a planet or in the fleet to make something, or buy something on the planets. I usually find the weapon options on the planets limited in suspicious ways. What's your go-to?

Anything at hand, but I usually have batons with me.

You could probably get those made pretty easily at least in wood. There were some elves with a forge doing metal work too. Not sure where that's at or if those elves are still around.

Also, a forge in space sounds like a dubiously wise idea. But I also do need knives.

[She nods.] Elves. Demons. Gods. Mages. I think we're currently out of vampires and werewolves. But the absolute weirdest ever were the small, colorful, talking horses. They were great, but that one took a minute. [It's still taking a minute.] I still don't know how they could bake. They didn't have hands.

I haven't seen magical talking horses since college at least.

Are we sure this isn't one big mushroom trip?

[She points at her—fear not, the claws are away again.] I think you're on to something.

Okay, our next stop is the Cargo Bay which is a catch all room for exercise equipment, a pinball machine, and our hanging gardens, plus, the shuttles and some storage.
