[ loki is no stranger to space ships. though the kind of ships asgard uses are quite different in nature, he's read enough to be familiar with the make and feel of this one. he quietly turns on the recording device, squinting at it. very primitive but it'll have to do. he straightens himself, as befitting a prince, quiet and somber despite the nervousness. ]

Greetings. I am Prince Loki of Asgard. I wish to know about my whereabouts and swift return to Asgard. My father will not be pleased.

[ a pause as loki thinks of what else to add before pulling out a large knife he stole from the kitchens. ]

Also I have a knife.

[ loki isn't sure what to make of that. ]

Yeah, you're a god? [Albeit a tiny Angus-sized one now.] I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.

But if you wreck that knife stabbing someone, I'll go on strike and you'll be eating protein gel only. No one wants that.

[ loki shakes his head. ]

If monsters come, I need to protect myself.

How about this. I, the great and benevolent wizard, Taako, will absolutely blast the fuck out of any monsters that come for you.

[ his brow furrows. ]

An elf wizard?

[abracafcku]

Yeah, not so that weird where I come from.

[So that resolves the issue of whether or not Loki has any inkling of what's going on or who he is. But this might be a good way to curry another favor from him.]

Listen, you hungry? I'm making cake.

[dothelokimotion]

[ okay, one hand: cake

on the other hand: stranger?? ]

I think I shall wait until my father comes to fetch me.

You're going to waiting awhile. Might as well come eat something.

[He fumbles a bit with video and shows the almost finished berry cream cake.]

[ . . . tempting. ]

[abracafcku]

That's fair. How about I eat a piece first when you get here?

[Tiny Prince Loki is wise not to trust people, but Taako wants his damn knife back.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ a slow nod. ]

That would be suitable.

[abracafcku]

Then come on down to the kitchen.

[A beat]

Bring the knife back with you. I'll trade you.

[ loki turns off the feed before heading to the kitchen. he keeps his knife close, just in case. he doesn't know what's going on and while no one has threatened him, he's heard many stories of what could happen to royalty.

he stops short, keeping his distance from taako. ]

I am here. Where is the cake?

[He's putting the finishing touches on the cake, arranging the fruit attractively on top and dusting with powdered sugar, when Loki enters. He glances up and puts a finger up. There's just one last thing he needs to do - he picks up flecks of edible gold and sprinkles it over the top.

Then he straightens and reveals the car with a flourish.]

And as I said, a trade: knife for the cake.

Cake first.

[ says the tiny boy, a master negotiator. ]

[Taako raises an eyebrow and taps the counter.]

Put the knife on the counter. You don't have to let go until I have the cake cut, but I'm not serving until I see it, homie.

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki weighs this. he still has a few illusions and shapeshifting tricks he can do. warily, he approaches the table, placing the knife on top, cocking an eyebrow at taako. ]

[He's never been great with children, but knowing that this is just a miniature god makes it a little easier. The only problem being that this is a little trickster god.

Taako does a quick Detect Magic on that knife just to make sure it's actually his knife before he starts to cut two slices from the cake. He isn't about to give something for nothing after all. ]

[ loki watches carefully, keeping track of taako's movements. he is a prince after all. he knows the kind of value he holds among strangers. while spoiled, loki keeps his quiet, remembering his manners perfectly. ]

You need to bite it first.

[abracafcku]

[No problem about that, but he nods to the knife.]

I take a bite, you slide that my way and I'll slide your piece to you. Deal?

[ he nods. ]

[abracafcku]

[The word of a trickster godling, sure.

But whatever; he wants his knife back. Taako spins a fork in his fingers and takes a bite of his slice of cake. Moist, delicious and a perfect balance of all the ingredients. Rolled a nat 20 on baking today. He motions for the knife now and plucks a berry off the top of his cake, popping it in his mouth. ]

[ loki slides the knife over before waiting for his piece of the cake. ]

My piece?

[He reaches over and takes the knife by the handle at the same time as he slides the second plate over. With the knife secured, he checks again that it isn't an illusion, then goes to wash it.]

So why so paranoid, little godling? Couldn't you just magic your way out?

[ his shoulders hunch a little. ]
