Sweet dreams are made of these...
( for A-M characters )
Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

He wanders around the area, taking in the sights, though it's kind of weird and creepy without, you know, people.]
Hey, is anybody here?

But it's only the sound right now. And why is that happening? Well, the answer is because of how Clay's remembering this. He's at one of the arcade stations, back to everything, his focus on the game and not on the rest of the bowling alley at all. There is one other person beside him playing a game, but that person is more like an entity than anything. Something that's just shaped like a human with clothes on, because Clay doesn't know who they are and hasn't looked at them to figure it out.
Upon closer inspection, it looks like Clay's playing Space Invaders. Of course.]

The observing ghost nearby is kind of creepy, but Clay seems to be enjoying it. What in the world is going on...?]
What's all this?

Clay plays for a bit longer until, just beside Kirito, a teenage girl suddenly appears. It's hard to see what exactly she looks like in the darkness, but her shape shows that she has curly hair down to the middle of her back, is a couple of inches shorter than Clay, and is dressed in jeans and... the very shirt Kirito had touched to start this whole thing, the word GAVINNERS glowing in the dark. Her appearance is very sudden, and she reaches out to lay her hand on Clay's upper arm.]
Clay, it's been your turn for a while.
[Clay barely glances over, seeing how he's on a pretty hard stage right now.]
Hold on, almost done.
[The girl looks irritated by this.]
Come on...
[But Clay doesn't answer, too absorbed in the game. The girl sighs, crosses her arms, and lowers her head for a moment before she raises it up again.]
Clay, could you come with me for a moment? We need to talk.
[And... those are always the most dreaded kind of words. Clay pauses and turns his head to look at her, though the sound of his ship being destroyed in the game does make him glance at the machine, wanting to continue... but this is important, so he gives a slow nod.]
Sure, Halley... Lead the way.
[The girl, Halley, takes Clay's hand and starts to pull him towards a more closed off area. It's only now that Clay's turned away from the game that people start to show up; several of them are at the arcade machines, many are at the bowling alleys, and some come out of the golf course with big grins. Still, everyone looks fuzzy and unrecognizable. Clay doesn't know any of them, after all.]

Outside, it's getting to the point where it's almost sunset, but not quite there just yet. Clay and Halley stand a few feet to the right of the door, Halley with her back against the wall and gaze to the side, arms crossed uncomfortably, while Clay stands in front of her, hands in his pockets and trying not to look nervous, but failing miserably.
Now that it's lighter outside, it's easier to see the two of them. Clay does indeed look younger, and while he's definitely toned, he's not quite as built as his present self. His hair looks even messier, and the visor and bandage he's always known for... are still there, of course. Halley is different, though. She does indeed have curly hair down to the middle of her back - dark blue curls and with what seems to be glitter that can be seen when she turns her head. She has green eyes, a small amount of makeup, and light blue shades on her head that she won't be needing in another hour or so. And, under this light, it's pretty clear that the shirt Kirito picked up belonged to her, as she's wearing the exact same colors and everything with it.]
You, uh... wanted to talk to me?
[Halley lets out a sigh, one hand moving up to rub at her neck.]
I really don't want to do this. Believe me, I don't. You're so sweet - You're the sweetest guy I know, and I think you're great, and I just - [She winces and bites her lip, the fingers at her neck curling.] I wish this could be easier.
[Yep. "We need to talk" really are dreaded words, and Clay looks about like he knows where this is going. He looks a bit stricken, and he reaches his hands up, only to drop them slightly, like he's unsure what he should be doing.]
Halley, what are you...
[Finally, Halley looks up at him, and she looks so sad about what she has to say.]
We need to break up. You're sweet, and I still love you so much, but... You're so bad at paying attention to what's important. And - And I know, your dream is so important, and I hope you accomplish everything you talked to me about doing. But you need to focus on this, everything that's in front of you, not... what's up in the stars.

And of course he'd have the Worst Timing Ever and stumble upon an awkward break-up scene. Bad enough to witness this sort of thing with anyone, but when the person is someone you hardly know?
Unfortunately, he's here now, and as it seems to be Clay's memory, he's stuck here. All he can really do is awkwardly glance away, trying (but failing) not to listen too closely.]
