Sweet dreams are made of these...
( for A-M characters )
Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

...Things change. We were happy for a while, but... I guess it wasn't meant to be. Her parents moved far away with her, a-and we had to call it off...

[She puts the record carefully back where she found it.]

Which is to say, Ahsoka wanders around the room for a bit, giving that statement room to breathe, before saying:]
... I can't help but feel like there's another reason I'm supposed to be here...

Idly, her foot scuffs through some of the papers on the ground, and she crouches down to inspect them.]

The other seems to be a child version of this girl.]
no subject
Is this... your birth mother?
[I mean. They're both blue. It's the logical explanation.]
no subject
Yes.
[He answers that in a fragile tone and then looks away immediately.]

[She stands and moves back over to rummage through some of the drawers, in search of some sticky tape.]
no subject
She can eventually find some clear tape to use.]
no subject
I guess it sucks when we can't easily define things though. Some relationships are just... like that.
[Eventually she does find the tape and sticks the photo back together.]
I don't even remember my parents.
no subject
[Now that the photo's taped together, it may unlock a memory if tapped.]
no subject
Truthfully? I barely ever thought of them until after I left the Order. As far as I was concerned, the Order was my family.
[She leans back then to admire her handiwork. Then she picks the photo up to find a frame for it.]
no subject
[It does seem like there's room to fit it into the frame that has the picture of young Kurt and his adopted parents.]
no subject
The X-Men... that's the group of other people like you, right?
no subject
[Well, once she puts that photo in, the frame glows. It looks like a memory will be starting any moment now.]
no subject
[She braces herself for it, this time. She's getting used to this.]

[He says that warmly, but then he winces as he sees what will happen next.
And then, flashes of memories begin to play. First it's just flashing of hard-to-make-out images and a woman's voice.
"Monster! What have you done to him?" She flees with the baby, fleeing wolves and a man in red, to a rickety old bridge.
But then, one wolf bumps into her, and the baby falls from the bridge, straight down into the river. She looks down as this happens and screams. "Noooo!"
And then, the baby being found further up the river and being recovered by the two people who would adopt him...
Then, a flash forward: Kurt, now a teenager, arriving in a construction site.
"Okay, so I'm here."
"Hello, Kurt." The voice from the earlier memory speaks as she appears, garbed in a cloak.
"You! You're the one from Rogue's dream. Who are you? Why don't you show yourself?"
She pulls down her hood to reveal the blue face from the photograph. "You already know me. Son..."
"No! No, it can't be! It's impossible!" As he speaks, she looks distraught and reaches out with a silent gasp, but Kurt continues speaking angrily. "What happened to me?! Why didn't you..."
But then, the Blob drops down from the sky and the conversation is cut off.
And so there ends those memories...]

... This woman in the photo. What's so bad about her...?
no subject
She's one of the mutants who... aren't so good. And want domination over humans... and she's attacked and betrayed us X-Men so many times. Once, she even blew up the mansion...
no subject
What-- even though you're her son?
no subject
...I mean, she never attacked me directly! [He says with a slight perking up, as if that makes things so much better.]
But... That was the only time she tried to talk to me. About... that.
no subject
no subject
...I never got to find out.
