Who:Okuyasu Nijimura and Josuke Higashikata
Broadcast: Open, Video
Action: SS Bloodsport
When: RIGHT NOW!!
[The video starts out with a very… distraught looking japanese school boy, who… actually looks kind of like a punk. Face marks, dollar signs on his chest, the words BILLION and MILLION on his sleeves…
Yeah. He looks like the kid of guy you don't want to meet in a dark alley. But that is all looks- because right now he looks like he's in near tears. To his right is another school boy about the same age as he is, his face only really showing up on the edge of the screen, but the pompadour on his head is taking up a lot of space on the feed above both of them.]]
They have vanilla!
Dude-
They have chocolate!
Hey-
They have spicy chili!
Man, chill-
Where is the strawberry flavor?! How am I supposed to deal with this, every morning, having only chocolate ice cream?! How am I supposed to start off the New Year this miserable??
[OKAY RELAX PAL, the other schoolboy moves closer to grab his shoulders, giving him a few shakes.]
Hey, c'mon! Don't freak! I'm sure they have strawberry somewhere. We'll...we'll just ask, alright? Chill out.
[So...he looks directly into the camera.]
Hey, yo, so...little help on the strawberry front? We can like....work something out, cuz we're new so we don't got any cash or nothin'.

I'm not sure anyone's actually managed to grow any berries quite yet. I know we haven't... sorry about that. You're both brand new to that ship from the Marsiva?
( That's at least four without hearing anything from the mysterious people who said last week all their sweaters were going to explode. )
video;
[Even though Okuyasu isn't...that far from him, he kind of holds one hand up to the communicator's side and harsh whispers, as if that'll totally keep their conversation private.]
I mean, I dunno man- I don't see how you can grow berries in space. I don't wanna break it to him he might have to make do without it; he's already a mess over this.
[#priorities]
permavideo;
At least one of the people here has managed to grow vegetables. I wouldn't give up on the idea yet. We're bound to hit another way-station or planet in the next few weeks, too, and if you leave your ship to check the markets there, you may find something comparable for your friend.
( Or who knows, someone might have a berry stash that would make this all that much easier! )
Think of it as... an endurance test? Either way, it shouldn't be forever.

( Speaking of, she glances up at one that's offscreen. )
If you wanted meat or something of that kind, I could help with that. If you don't mind long-bird. It does come with a cost, however...
( Straight face. Very solemn all of a sudden. )

I'll grow 'em myself if I have to! I don't like making things from scratch- but if it's what I have to do, I'll do it! I can grow a garden in space, right?
no subject
Yes, you can. I'm not sure what's involved in the process, but there's at least one person who's been growing vegetables, so there must be more than one way to try. Getting the seeds or young plants might be the bigger hurdle to start with.
no subject
[His seriousness on this issue is somewhat ridiculous, but he really means it.]
How do I get plants? Or seeds?? What about dirt? I never thought I'd miss dirt this much!
no subject
All right, all right, I'm not so sure? There's the shopping network thing that makes my head turn. As for dirt, maybe through there, too, and you'd want fertilizer... I think. Mandy always did, in the herb garden.
( Wracking her brain trying to think this through. )
I don't know if you'd have better luck at our next way-station or not. As for who's been growing vegetables, she sometimes wears this large bone mask, and she has freckles?
( ... for the life of anyone, her name just isn't coming to mind right now
since I can't remember if they ever got to introductions)(no subject)

Alright, so this girl got me thinking...we could try and find some alternative, right? Space alternative. Like...whatever weird fruit they got up here. There's gotta be something similar.

Or maybe it's all dehydrated seeds? You just add a drop of water and you get instant fruit, like in that other movie.
All I'm saying is, you gotta keep an open mind.

I wish Tonio was here. He could make this gross space food good.

say hello to your kind of shy shipmate--it's more than likely that he hasn't been seen since they've arrived on the ship, but he is the first security officer by the way he's wearing the flexi-armor. ]
Strawberry? What's so--
[ good about strawberry, he almost says, and then clears his throat. right, not everyone is a chocoholic. ]
What kind of strawberry? Ice cream, candy, cake...?
no subject
Ice cream! It's what I have for breakfast every morning! I can only deal with just chocolate for so long!!
no subject
[ excuse you!
but, calm. be calm. ]
Maybe if we upgrade the kitchen, we could get more flavors... but that'll take a while.
