[ooc: All her costume bits .
For Maglor
The offer of his arm gains him a pleased, flattered smile, and she slips her hand around the bend of his elbow.
"I never say no to real food, and I could certainly use a drink."
no subject
"I confess, I am puzzled by what they consider 'food' on the ships, as while I have certainly eaten worse, it was usually only from necessity! Is there anything here that catches your eye particularly?"
no subject
She glances around at the trays of food. "Do you think they have anything sweet? It's so rare to come across real confections."
no subject
"I have been here but a scant few days, but already I agree. Even the worst of my brothers could cook better!"
He considers the table thoughtfully and then nods towards one end. "There, you see? I think that looks like deserts. We are bound to find something sweet there."
no subject
For now, sweets! And she follows his direction to the end of the table. She sees something that looks like a small cake, and goes for that. After a bite, she makes a noise that is poor sinful enjoyment. And then she remembers she has company.
She blushes up at Maglor, dabbing at her mouth with her free hand. "Forgive me. Sweets have always been a luxury."
no subject
"I had young ones with a sweet tooth, once. If you wish it I can see if I can get ingredients to make honeycakes."
no subject
"I'm going to ask you about your skills as a baker in a minute, but first: you have children?"
no subject
"My mother taught me to bake. I never had children of my own, but I had the care for two, for a time."
no subject
"You loved them very much. I can tell."

For Arthur
"The dancing," she says with a smile. "The costumes are a close second though. I love seeing all the people dressed up. What about you?"

"I'm not. Look," she gestures out to all the costumed people, ladies and gentlemen, all splendid in their finery. "There's far more dazzling things to look at than me."

For Felix
Compliments are usually difficult for her to accept, but tonight she had put a great deal of effort into her appearance, and it's nice to hear the work payed off. Still, her cheeks color a bit and her eyes cast down briefly.
"Thank you. I tried." Her intricate mask is painted on her face in a very specific design and decorated with sequences and false pearls. She did more than try. "To tell you the truth, this is my first party."
no subject
"Really? Do you mean to say this is your first masquerade, or any kind of party at all?" She seemed far too outgoing a sort for that to be true.
no subject
"Any party at all, I'm afraid. My upbringing was very..." What's a good word for it. "Secluded. But you look like you were born to this."
no subject
It could be accurate to say that he'd never been shy, but his appetite for attention was honed far before he stepped a toe into the Mirador.
"I imagine they don't hold many balls in libraries." It's a deliberate reference to some of what he already knows about her, or has inferred from the memories. It might have been that the library was merely a metaphor, but something about it seemed too specific to entirely the work of fiction.
no subject
"Balls and parties of any sort tend to disturb the hushed studies, by which I mean, they held exactly none. Though I did see a real gypsy dance once, when they stayed on the fortress lands. I learned a lot from watching them, but it's not quite the same as being a part of things."
For Nami
"Me? Oh no. There's so many other people and costumes to see here, I'm just part of the crowd, I'm sure." Well her ability to be center of positive attention lasted longer than usual, but as expected, it comes to a quick end. Even though her presence has drawn some attention; when she danced with Maglor, and then again with Arthur. But that was because she'd been putting on a show of sorts. It couldn't be more than that.
"What about you?" Please let's talk about you, Nami. "Have you been enjoying yourself?"
