[ he's getting the star treatment here and he doesn't even know it: on a good day Sascha is totally incomprehensible when it comes to certain things. Having Kitty as the go-between more or less fixes everything. ]

Weirdly, that's the real answer. He'a a giant wolf with a human-looking form and claims to be from fairy tails.

[ frowning. amazingly, it's not the giant-wolf-with-human-looking-form part he's struggling with, it's the big-bad. because kitty is good, so surely they don't meet ate-little-red-riding-hood-and-her-grandma-big-bad, right? ]

Nah, he used to be super-bad! Or he said so. He ate people before... [ And so has Sascha and any other vampire he's met, so he tries not to think much of it. ]

I didn't actually ask. I haven't heard about any attacks within the fleet though and he's been here longer than me, right? [At least she thinks that's true.]

[ you're really not. if his father showed up and didn't kill people within the fleet for a couple months, it wouldn't undo the murders he committed before, and it wouldn't keep him from committing a next one when it strikes his fancy again. ]

[Maybe it's the hour, maybe it's the upbringing but she looks at him with some confusion.] Why do you need reassurance? [She doesn't say it to be hurtful. She's just a little lost.

Sorry, am I the only one hearing 'super bad' and 'ate people'?

[ how well does kitty know him? how much time does she spend by his side? is he going to have to add 'fear of her being eaten' to his list of phobias? you know what, he already has. ]

[You know what? You're getting a look for that Winn. Because of course you just hurt Sascha's feelings and while apparently threatening to kill him is fine and appropriate the other is not. Then she turns to look at the vampire.] Hey, he's just adjusting to this idea. I'm sure he knows that people change and have their reasons and context for their past if there is a past, and that they deserve second chances. He wouldn't be with me if he didn't. And you don't want to hurt anyone, right, Sascha?

[ he nods quickly, confirming that he would definitely not do that. He wants to be liked and be around people more than anything--hurting them would put him worse off in that regard than he already is. ]

No way...!

[ he's filled with guilt and confusion at that look - there's a clear difference between the two in his mind ok - sascha's got blood pills and he looks like he wouldn't hurt a fly, not if given a choice. that's kinda different from someone who proudly proclaims he was 'super bad' - that doesn't sound repentant, you know? doesn't sound like someone who didn't have a choice, who did it to survive.

but that doesn't matter right at this second - he'll talk this out with kitty later on their own, try to understand who that guy is. what matters right now defusing the situation. ]

Yeah, no, I don't think you're bad - I mean some people hurt people too, and it's not like they have to do it to survive - you got your blood pills, you're - clearly a good vampire and that's awesome!

[ he needs coffee. ]

[His girlfriend was talking about herself in there too. It's not like she hasn't killed as well, so she can be kind of on edge around this sort of thing. But she just doesn't know enough about Bigby. She doesn't trust him, but she doesn't trust anyone she just met. She doesn't even entirely trust Sascha. There's so much about him she doesn't know, but she's taking him at his word that he is who he presents himself to be the way she does for most people. It's a luxury. She can afford to do that because she has training and powers and friend with training and powers. Winn only has that second part if something goes wrong.]

See, all good. [She idly pets Sascha's hair.]

[ And just like that, he goes from surprised and taken back, to briefly surprised and preening under the attention. It only takes a moment for him to get over it and lean into her hand, making a pleased sound--and Kitty should feel honoured, because that's more than he's managed with anyone else who initiates contact of the affectionate kind with him rather than the reverse. Between the gravity ball and the dance lessons he's become much better at handling it without having his chest squeeze itself into a tight ball of emotion.

His heart still skips a beat of course, but he doesn't latch onto her or anything. ]

...all good. [ better safe than sorry, right? his own chest is filled with stress, like he just realized he's walked into a mine-field. he doesn't want to upset kitty, that's step one on the road to losing her. he needs to collect himself, so he pushes himself off the bed again. ]

I'm -- gonna get some coffee. Anyone want anything? [ because sleep is not about to be had. not by him, at least. even if sascha went home right now, and kitty went back to sleep, he wouldn't be able to do it. ]

So, definitely no more sleep? [Abandon all hope coffee. It's a special brand!]

Are you okay? [She wouldn't normally ask this with company, but it's Sascha. Speaking of, is that what's wrong? Is it because she's touching him? She didn't mean anything by it. She withdraws her hand from the vampire and looks at Winn.]

Oh, oh! Raw steak...! [ If...if you know, he's going for stuff and taking orders. He can't very well ask for blood comfortably with them here. maybe with Bigby, but they both know it wouldn't come from the Fable.

He doesn't think about Winn's discomfort, because he honestly isn't used to thinking about anything like. Most people back home for him are pretty uncomfortable around him by default. He doesn't even flinch when Kitty pulls back, although he does look at her. ]
