Yeah -- I'm trying to be better about those. [ after he got a talking to from their favorite captain. ] Plus I - do have something to run by you. [ and he hasn't bugged her all day and that's just wrong. ]

You remember I told you about my vampire friend?

Well, I asked him if I can tell you and he said yes so - his name's Sascha, he's like - a little kid, really hyped and he's never had friends before he got here, people were always afraid of him cuz of what he is which is why you know - well you do know - not telling too many people about it. Anyway, he thinks I'm like the best person out there, so I promised him I'd introduce him to some better people. He's gonna come by at 9 - he's nocturnal - and I promised I'd ask you if you'd come meet him.

Gosh, Winn, maybe your calling is creating a home for wayward youngsters. You really have a knack.

[ he's not qualified for any of this. he can be the fun one. ]

Just a heads up -- he's very affectionate. I get knocked back when he's hugging.

Really? How strong is he?

I - don't really know. He restrains himself usually and he never really developed his abilities cuz he was trying to hide. The most I see of it is when he gets excited with his hugs, but I was actually talking to him about maybe helping him figure out the extent of his abilities.

I think it's so sweet you've created these friendships with people. More people get to see what I see.

[ oh god kara, how is he supposed to respond to this sudden sweetness? he actually laughs a little from the sheer surprise of it. ]

Don't get too excited, you're stuck with me forever. [ he may have a lot of friends now, but he only calls one his best friend. ]

But yeah, I'm more than happy to meet Sascha. I talked to Margaery a bit, too, already.

She's sweet. I had to explain superheroing to her. Her world sounds complicated... I feel like it'll be slower process in getting her to understand she doesn't have to live that way. She's very sharp, and she knows there are a lot of differences between the worlds.

Yeah, she catches on quicker than I do sometimes. [ he nods. she's definitely way smarter about people than he'll ever be. ]

Also, Jim came to talk to me.

Oh good? How'd -- that go?

[ he really hoped he got the right message across, he thinks he did but well, he's pretty bad at this sometimes, and his talk with jim was an emotional and trying one. ]

He apologized. We hugged it out.

I just have to accept that he's going to be Disappointed Dad sometimes, and he got a better understanding about who I am.

He's not the only person to see clumsy and ditzy and discount me, here. It's hard to manage. Sure, I can be a little scattered and goofy, but that's all they see.
