[McCoy has a blanket wrapped around his shoulders when the broadcast flips on; he's still cold, by God, and he's not above looking a bit silly in an effort to warm up. There's unoffensive music playing in the background and McCoy's eyebrow is fairly twitching in time to it.]

Two questions, for whoever's listening. [He's read everything he can get his hands on, but some things are better from people he can actually question. He holds up his index finger.] Where in the hell are we? I can't make heads or tells of what I'm seein' here.

[He holds up a second finger.] Where can I get a drink? Doesn't have to be good; it just has to burn.

[Kitty tilts her head, giving him a little smile.] I don't remember if the Marsiva has alcohol and you're on the Marsiva which is the name of that ship and it is located in space. Which is about as much as I can narrow it down.

[He chucks his thumb over his shoulder, somewhat vaguely indicating the viewports behind him.] Yeah, I figured out that part about space. That's nothing new to me; I'd just like to know what sector I'm in.

[And she doesn't seem like anyone who has that information. Unfortunate. At least she's trying to be friendly.] I'm Leonard McCoy.

[ McCoy has the right idea, because it is cold and nothing like how it gets chilly in Georgia. The music playing nonstop is a little creepier than total silence would be. Not one to stay still in an unfamiliar place, Carl takes to roaming what parts of the Marsiva he can get to. Which is how he comes across McCoy.

Carl doesn't encroach his space, keeping distance, still holding the piece of ship that he managed to break off. It's probably not very threatening even if he were a threat right now. ]

How can you be sure someone's listening? It might be static.

[ He's still not convinced that this is real. ]

[This kid needs to sit down and take a breath. McCoy's not exactly relaxed himself, but at least he's not carrying around bits of the ship. He shrugs one shoulder at the question.]

I can't be but this is a sort of technology that I'm used to. There's no indication that the call's not going somewhere.

[Sorry for eavesdropping there, but she's kind of in disbelief. She'd been looking for someone to bully answers out of but instead she found this perfectly reasonable guy looking for a drink.]

You got kidnapped and the first thing you're worried about once you get answers is getting a drink?

[McCoy turns in his chair, adjusting his blanket as he goes, and raises a brow.] Oh, I'm worried about a million other things. I could list 'em, if you'd like.

[What he is doing is getting people out there listening to talk about inconsequential things. Sometimes, those conversations lead to actual useful information.] I don't know who's out there listening.

[Or who's standing right there listening.] Leonard McCoy, Chief Medical Officer of the USS Enterprise. You are?

[ winn may still be a little buzzed from last night's halloween party and the general lack of sleep he's been experiencing pretty extremely lately. he hasn't actually been to bed yet, so excuse the bloodshot eyes, the dark circles under them, the pale complexion, and the goofier than usual attitude. ]

Good news - I know where you can get a drink. Bad news - not right now. Good news - they're not half bad. Bad news - nobody can make heads or tails of where we are yet. Good news - [ he pauses to think it over and for a second it might even look like maybe the network froze or something because it's taking too damn long...and then he breaks out laughing. ] Sorry, I wanted to end on a good note. Okay okay - I can do this! Good news! People are really nice here and we throw kickass parties? It's really not so bad.

[That's a hell of a lot to keep up with, but at least it's information. McCoy tilts his head to the side and idly scratches his jaw with a couple fingers.]

Then again, he was a hundred and twenty years old, so a lot can change in that time. Either way, she can't help but be a little excited that he's here, both because he was such an inspiration to her but also because Jim will be happy to have his best friend back.]

As to the first, sir, the short answer is you are on the flagship Marsiva, part of the fleet we all find ourselves attached to. The long answer, sadly, is far more sobering, for I do not know, and indeed, I am given to understand these stars are unfamiliar to all of us, for we are captives of an unknown audience.

[ A wry quirk of a smile ] As to the second - when you are released from the Marsiva, seek out the Iskaluit and it's bars. I would recommend the one where Lord Tyrion works.
