Eithan Paine | OTA
[ He really didn't mean for this to happen. But at some point during evacuation, a bunch of new friends decided to hitch a ride in his coat. So, well, here they are now.
Eithan's sitting on top of a crate in the cargo bay, with an apple and a knife, cutting the fruit into little bite-sized pieces. And that's because around him are five brightly-colored lizards! Two small, rainbow-speckled ones are also chilling on the crate, two slightly larger rainbow-speckled ones are lounging on the floor in front of him, and one tiny one that is probably just a baby is actually latched onto the side of the crate, hanging out all vertical-like. No big deal, you know.
Erm, come say hi? ]
B. Wandering Around
[ Eithan gets around the ship quite a bit. Maybe you'll catch him in his room with the door open, all inviting-like, either idly playing or actively practicing with his guitar.
You might happen to see him in the kitchen. When he's not drinking cup #329048284209 of coffee for the day, you could see him making a face at a blood-red pill in the palm of his hand before he actually pops the damn thing in his mouth - but not without a little bit of whining, of course.
Sometimes, if you swing by the cargo bay after most other people have gone to bed, you'll find him wide awake... and holding a palm-sized ball of volatile, wildly crackling fire in each hand. Sure, it probably looks and sounds alarming, especially at first - but stick around long enough and you'll see him bending the flames into swirls and shapes in the air in front of him. ]
C. wildcard!
[ and if you have your own ideas, come at me~ ♥ ]

Billy would normally be asleep by now, but, y'know, insomnia. it's a thing. he went to get himself some coffee in the kitchen, because that's a great thing to grab when you can't sleep, and was about to head back to his room when the noise in the cargo bay catches his attention. he watches a bit, curious (read: nosy), though he stays quiet until Eithan finishes whatever gesture he'd been in the middle of. you don't want to startle a guy holding fireballs.]
I thought fire was a bad idea on a spaceship?

Yeah, that's why I waited till the captain went to bed. [ he grins. ] Kidding. Actually, so far it hasn't been a problem. I'm guessin' Atroma's just that good at keepin' oxygen levels where they should be? Or somethin'? Beats me.
no subject
Probably better not to think about it. You don't seem too alarmed about being caught, so... I take it you're open about the whole magic-fire thing?
no subject
[ At least, it feels that simple to him. ]
Meanwhile, you don't seem too shocked about seein' it. Are you used to magic bein' a thing, too?

You remind me of someone I knew. Only, he had a chocobo chick, not lizards.
no subject
Yeah? What's a chocobo? Some kind of bird? [ He did just mention a chick, after all. ]
no subject
[He holds his gloved hands about six inches apart.]
Chicks're only that big.
no subject
[ I mean at least the chicks are teeny tiny but holy crap adults are huge what the fuck!? ]

Looks like it's our ship that has stowaways this time.

[ He drops a piece of apple in front of the lizards on the crate. They appear to be torn between trying the food, or just continuing to nap. (Relatable, honestly.) ]
They just kinda clung to me when I was helpin' evacuate people. I think they knew. Or somethin'.

[Riona bends down, watching the lizards intently. Despite being reptiles, she has to admit, they're kinda cute.]
Even animals can't ignore that comet in the sky. And I wonder if they were able to hear the planet. Some said they could hear it sing.
no subject
Good point... Didn't think about if animals could actually hear it. Hell, maybe they could hear it better than us... they say animals and kids hear ghosts and spirits better too, right?
[ At least, that's what they say in his world. ... Also, yes, being all mage-y means he definitely heard the planet from time to time. Also that damn nightmare... ugh. ]

Maybe you can teach them to do tricks.
no subject
Yeah? Maybe! At the very least, they're real close to playin' dead, with how little they actually move.
[ Case in point: he plops a piece of apple beside one of them, and it kinda looks at it... before deciding that nope, sleep > food. ]
no subject
I mean more like...jumping through hoops. You know. Something entertaining.
[Man, even Appa like...FLEW.]
no subject
Hah, that'd be pretty cool! But uh, they could stand to be a little bit more motivated by food, maybe. Might make it easier.
[ He pokes one. It skitters around to the other side of him. ]
... Yeah I'm pretty damn sure people just got these things 'cause of the shiny colors.

[ But he sees the lizard on her shoulder, so he holds out a slice for Shay to take. Sharing is caring! ]
Looks like you found a friend too, huh?

I wasn't aware we had our own personal bard.
no subject
Heh, may as well! Can't say I've written any songs about the fleet yet, but I bet I could come up with somethin'.

Hello!

He returns the smile, raises his coffee mug like a kind of salute. ]
Hey! I'm not in your way, am I? 'Cause I can move, promise.
no subject
[ But she does move closer, tilting her head, before - yes, she leans forward. ]
My name is Aerith.
