[The Space Bar staff made good use of the ever-replenishing alcohol supply at their last stop, and Nami and Remy got around to discussing the idea of testing various experimental mixes to come up with new additions for the menu.  I mean, add to that Nami hasn't made a decision which one of the applicants should take the main bar job, so clearly the best idea is to shove them all into one place and ply them with alcohol while they talk to each other and work it out after that.

No, it's a good idea.  Shut up.

...okay.  It may just be a good excuse for a party.  Sue her.]

I'm still working on a drink. I have to stay sober enough to carry you home the way you're going.

[She reaches over for her hand to cover his as he works on returning them to the bowl.] You know, maybe just throw those peanuts out at this point.

Pfft. Why not let yourself go! I'll be fine! I don't even have to go home here! Don't have to worry about freezing or overheating on a space ship!

[There's an excited shiver he feels tingle it's way up his spine when she covers his hand with hers.] O-ooh? You think so? But that would be a waste! Maybe I could eat them! They've only been on the bar a little bit. [He rattles off these thoughts quickly to distract himself from wanting to squeeze that hand.]

Maybe, just definitely don't serve them to the unsuspecting. [Listen, she's seen people eat a lot worse and they're probably still better than the rations. She doesn't like seeing food wasted either since safe food had been somewhat scarce back home. She withdraws her hand, not realizing the effect it had in the first place.]

And you saw first hand what happened last time I "let myself go." [Using that hand to help her make air quotes.]

Yeah, but that was drinking for a sad reason. Today we're drinking for fun! I'm sure it will go better this time! [Because clearly she regrets that "thing" he is refusing to think about right now. He is too drink to think about that right now. But he knows he's not who she wanted to be kissing so he's jumped to the conclusion that she hated it.]

Yeah, I'm not sure I do happy drunk that well. [Or maybe she just only drinks when she's not and that's the issue.] Clearly, you're the master. [She's embarrassed about some things that happened that night, but kissing Vash is...too complicated to just be embarrassed about.]

Well, then I shall become your teacher! As my first lesson my young pup-pupil! Ummm... [He trails off for a moment as he leans over the bar. Hands searching around as he knocks one bottle over and it falls to the floor before rolling away. Eventually he picks himself back up from the bar with a glass tumbler in his hand along with a bottle of white wine.] Huh. [Not what he was expecting, but it's alcohol so he's fine in the end.

He pours about a shot's worth of the wine into the tumbler with a grin.] Drink that!

Mmm, pass. [Not because she won't drink white wine, but more because being ordered to do anything sets off her stubborn side. It's a pretty big side. Also the last time she actually asked him to teach her something with the gun didn't work out so well.] Why's it so important to you that I drink more?

Eh, it's not. So I'll drink it! [He tips it back and empties the glass himself.] I just hope you're having a good time tonight!


...also I might be a tad drunk. [He's had some really strong alcohol tonight. Stronger what he's had in the past and it's surprised him. He probably could sober up right quick if he had to, but without a bounty on his head? He's allowing himself to relax a bit.]

I am. [Relaxing a little when he doesn't push it further.] Are you? [She can tell he's drunk. She just hopes that's not another form of hiding.]

[Usually it is. Or at least usually he pretends to be drunk in an easy way to deflect anything he doesn't want to talk about. Tonight he's just having a good time. It was nice.]

Haha! I'm hiding-- really good at hiding it, aren't I? HAHAHAHAHA! [He starts to take a drink from an empty glass before setting it back down.] But I really glad you're having fun tonight.

I'm glad you're glad. [She tilts her head curiously. And fear not, she is tipsy. Drinks have been had. She's just trying to keep it at tipsy and not out of control.] What are you hiding from?

Good at hiding being drunk! No one c-could possibly tell! [Good try getting him to talk.]

Oh, right. [She feels silly thinking he might have meant something more troubling by it. Maybe she's tipsier than she thought. But she jumps back in to play along.] Yes, you definitely hide it well. Everyone would be super shocked by the news you weren't stone cold sober.

[He nods his head.] I'm glad the ships have auto pilot!

HEY! Lets think of a new drink name! Imma on a roll! I named... uhh... two new drinks already!

Yes, I'm especially glad for that ever since I switched to engineering. [Not that she doesn't trust Vash to pilot. She smirks at him.]

What were your first two drinks named?

[He sits up a bit straighter and speaks with pride.] The Cosmic Stardust and The Stampede! But, trust me, you don't want to try The Stampede.

Why? What's in The Stampede? [Warned against something? Must know more about it!]

Whatever random things I found in the kitchen all mixed together. The pickles probably took it too far.

I've had a pickle in a Bloody Mary before. Was this anything like a Bloody Mary? [She's doubting it.]

Well, it had ketchup instead of tomato juice. Would you consider that as being close to a Bloody Mary?

Did you actually serve that to anyone? [And then mature concern turns slightly.] Oh! Chuuya. See if he'd drink it.

YES! We need to get Chuuya to drink it! Quick! Find me a fancy wine bottle! We'll pour some in!

[She laughs.] Does he usually drink straight from the bottle? And wouldn't the pickles clog it up?

Hmmm, you make a good point! [He pours himself out another glass and drinks it.] That would get stuck. Maybe we could ah.... blindfold him?

Yes, no way would he find that suspicious. [Amused.]
