[you can find joel in the cargo bay this month in addition to hiding in his room, which is a fantastic change to last month. he'll mostly be carving pieces of wood he got into shitty shapes and sharpening his knife since that's something he got on mor last month. this is how he's relaxing after busting his butt every day on jobs. gotta keep in shape somehow, am i right?]

[ And there on the bridge is Jason, complete with the new crew confetti, happy music, and dessert cream. He looks less than impressed with this attempt at merriment, and will just be shaking confetti out of his hair for a minute. ]

[oh hey that sure is music. and confetti. he was just coming in to try to find the captain, since she sleeps in the pilot's chair sometimes, and... you are not tay.]

[ Look, it's a guy who communicates in ellipses and nodding. He's never had to deal with that before, nope.

He gives the stranger a sardonic little salute. ]

...I'm Jason, for the record. This happen every time new crew drops in? [ He indicates the confetti and chocolate thing. At least, he thinks it's chocolate.

Don't worry, he doesn't actually expect words in response: a nod will suffice. ]

[ Tay sighs when she hears the music, but it pays to know who's on her ship at any given moment, so she sticks her head in. Her mildly irritated expression shifts to actually kind of pleasantly surprised when she sees who it is. ]

Hey, whaddaya know, Jason with the custom knives! Welcome to the Paisley.

Captain Barnam. [ BIG GRINS ] It's Jason Todd, actually. Not quite as descriptive, but a lot easier to yell.

[ He tosses a wink Tay's way. It's good to have at least one person he's on good terms with. And this also means CONVENIENT SPARRING, YAY. ]

[ What is that wink? Who fucking winks? You know who winks? Her gay cousin when he's flirting with boys. That's who winks. What is that.

She's just going to pretend that didn't happen because wtf. ]

All right, Jason Todd, well, I can give you the tour, if you want. What augment did they give you?

[ lioriley instantly perks up at the sound of music™ that indicates the arrival of a new crewmate. who will it be this time, she wonders? will it be another cranky dude or another cranky lady? the possibilities are endless!

jason will soon be greeted with a dark skinned, glowing elf woman equal in height and weight to a 12-year-old, peeking around the corner with a bright smile on her face. ]

[ It's a good thing Jason's used to weird: small glowing women with pointy ears aren't enough to get more than a raised eyebrow out of him. The overwhelming cheer, though, manages to make his other eyebrow go up to join it. ]

Thanks. You know, you may be the single most cheerful person I've met since I got here?

[Koltira stands a little ways from Jason, arms folded over his chest. Everything about his posture suggests 'probably too tense'.]

[ Wow, creepypretty guy with pointy ears and an attitude problem. Well then. SMARTASS MODE: ACTIVATE. ]

Okay, let me guess... you're a member of race of extremely long-lived beings that feel the overwhelming need to roll your eyes at anyone under fifty because oh my god how can we ever get anything done with our teeny tiny lifespans, we should be in diapers or something.

[ raised eyebrow ] Am I anywhere near the mark, here?

[Alex follows the welcome fanfare, and spends a moment scouting the new arrival. She's still in de facto hibernation, wrapped up in a standard issue blanket and sporting excellent bedhead. After a few moments, she steps forward and picks up a piece of confetti.]

Took me weeks to stop finding this stuff stuck in my hair.

[ Teenage girls are, in fact, Jason's secret weakness -- not like that, he will STAB you -- so Alex actually gets something that could almost be considered a smile, albeit one filtered through several layers of, "Why yes, it does suck to be here." ]

Maybe that's the point. The festivities never end. Every time you pick a piece of confetti out of your hair, you'll be reminded all over again just how much fun it is being kidnapped.

[ because everyone on this ship is so anti-social and lioriley honestly doesn't even know if half of them are still around, or even alive (no offense koltira), she has started doing daily rounds just to check in on her crewmates.

it's as terrible as one might imagine. she - gasp - goes around to wherever everyone has passed out and just sort of... says hi and makes sure they don't need anything before going about her business again. TERRIBLE. ]

[ For once, Tay is not in the shuttle! She's also not asleep in the cockpit or under the kitchen table. Where could she be?

Well, she has been keeping the ship in the hangars on the station. Maybe she's outside?

[ that... is literally the last place she looks for her. and she's honestly surprised when she sees her doing whatever it is she's doing. ]

...Hello Tay. I did not expect to find you all the way up here.

[Knocking on the door of the largely unused sleeping quarters will earn her a vaguely human groan in reply. Alex has managed to push all the bunks together to create a sort of nest. Good luck trying to communicate with her at the present moment. She's catching up on approximately three years of good rest.]

[A seldom-seen creature has emerged from the bunk room, and is currently sitting in the galley, her feet propped daintily up on the table (what a lady). She's got one of her standard issue jumpsuits spread out in front of her, and seems to be holding some kind of stick to the fabric - clearly recognizable as a wand, to anyone familiar with magic. Whatever she's attempting to do to the garment doesn't seem to be working quite right, however. She mutters something, giving the wand a little flick against the jumpsuit, but all that happens is it turns a vague sickly green for a few seconds.]

Stupid space.

Okay, she recognizes the kid, she's on the ship, but they haven't like. chatted or anything. ]

[Alex looks over her shoulder, and spins the wand in her fingers. She's barely said one word to any of her crewmates, but Tay seems alright, at least.]
