[ tadashi considers himself a pretty simple guy, and that much probably shows through in his rooms. visitors might find themselves in (A) a small robotics lab, filled with all manner of small gadgets and gizmos and fastidious notes in enormous quantity.

they may also find themselves (B) in the dining area of a small, cozy cafe, with the noise and color of san fransokyo whizzing by outside the large windows. faceless, nameless patrons dine pleasantly around at the tables.

or, it's also possible visitors will find themselves (C) actually in tadashi's bedroom from home. if so, he'll likely be bent over his desk, idly sketching up the blueprints for something. ]

[well, he knows where he is now.

[upon entering the bedroom, hiro freezes dead in his tracks. this isn't like those virtual reality rooms; this feels so much more... real. and there's his brother, there's his bed, and regardless of whether there are more objects to look at, the very first thing he intends to do is fling himself on top of that bed.]

[ishere]

Hello to you, too, Hiro.

[ tadashi doesn't even have to look up to address him. in fact, he doesn't even turn around -- he just keeps at his blueprints. ]

You're gonna ruin this experience, shut up.

[but he sits up regardless and finally looks at the rest of the room. this might not be real, but it sure is nice.]

[ishere]

I'm going to ruin the experience of you crashing on my bed?

[ he finally spins around in his chair. his face is soft and fond and honestly pretty happy. ]

[everydayhero]

Exactly.

[he stretches a little, then places his hands on the bed on either side of him, feeling the bedspread. it's been a while.]

What're you working on?

[ishere]

Nothing in particular. Just kind of doodling until inspiration strikes.

[ really, he's just enjoying himself. ]

Got any suggestions?

[She's become more accustomed to technology of this kind since her arrival to the fleet and it's these that catch her attention more than the notes.

She picks up one especially shiny looking gadget, turning it over in her hands.]

[ishere]

[ the memory it transports her to isn't anything groundbreaking or earth shattering. she'll just bear witness to a few minutes of a young tadashi, on the floor with schematics and parts spread out in front of him, putting something together and clearly loving every second of it.

when she reappears in the lab, it's grown, expanded. there are some half-formed robots on the ground, and tadashi is digging through a toolchest with his back to her. ]

[He may have grown, but there's no mistaking this is the same person. If not by his looks then by context.]

Who knew it was possible for you to get cuter?

[That will. Likely not make even the slightest bit of sense to him given they've never spoken, but Isabela's not one to let something like that stop her.]

[ishere]

[ uh. he stands up to face her, expression drawn in confusion as he does. ]

Sorry, I didn't hear you come in.

[ did she just call him cute? his face seems to suggest he's trying to suss that out. ]

[pirasea]

[Yes, Tadashi. Yes she did.]

That's hardly surprising. You seemed rather absorbed by your work.

[ino]

[ ... Sneaks up behind him, and covers his eyes from behind. Because she can. ]

[ishere]

[ tadashi knows that move -- or at least in this weird dream-like thing he does, because he's reaching to catch her hands with his with a smile. ]

You're here.

[ino]

[ She laughs a little ]

I'd be pretty surprised if I didn't end up here eventually.

[ishere]

You think so?

[ he gently draws her hands from his face, turning in his seat to look at her. ]

I've had a couple of visitors. It's- hard to remember.

[ino]

[ Now that he's looking at her: hey look, she's older and hotter looking, how about that. At least her mental version of herself can match up. ]

Is it?

This is kinda, like. What I do, you know? The mind stuff.

I mean, usually it's on purpose and with permission, but -- you know.

[kotatsu]

[ okay, this is a nice change of space. the cafe is a lot more familiar than the other rooms nanako has been to so far and while the city outside seems much, much busier than the quiet streets of inaba, there were still a few cafes similar to this one scattered here and there. taking a glance around the place, she eventually decides to sit at a table next to the window.

nanako isn't sure what she's supposed to do, or who she should be talking to, but for now she's content to simply stare out the window at san fransokyo. ]

There's so much people... [ it's mostly muttered to herself as she presses her hands against the window to get a closer view. ] Is Big Bro's city just as busy?

[ishere]

I'm sorry, what was that?

[ tadashi will slide a small plate onto the table in front of her. it's got two little pastries on it, heaped high with sliced fruit. he's really not sure how they're going to taste - or if they'll take like anything at all here, wherever they are - but it's worth a shot, at least. ]

[kotatsu]

Oh-!

[ nanako jumps a little in her seat when she hears his voice and when he slides the plate in front of her. she wasn't expecting free food ok! and so much too. are they really for her? ]

I said, I wonder if Big Bro's city is just as busy as this city.

[ishere]

[ well, it's not like money is any good in this weird little dreamworld. tadashi will just give her a gentle smile as he takes a seat across from her. ]

You have a big brother? I have a little one.

[kotatsu]

[ she nods, smiling when he sits down. yes, good. let's talk about souji and not weird mind room dreamworlds. ]

Yeah! Well, technically, he's not actually my brother. He's my cousin, but he treats me like I'm his sister. He's really nice!

[mylegacy]

[It's perfectly ordinary, nothing much to gawk at, until he looks out the window and sees - all of this, all of it, in bright technicolor, moving too fast and too strangely. Somehow it's odder than the technology of the Fleet, because it's placed in contrast to the ordinary scene within the cafe.]

[It makes his head spin a little bit, and, because a lot of times his reactions to things are very predictable, he frowns sharply out of the window as though the people and vehicles moving past outside have personally wronged him.]

[ishere]

Pretty neat, isn't it? [ where did tadashi come from? it is a mystery. regardless, now he's standing beside him, wearing an apron advertising the cafe itself as he does. ] I could make you some tea if you'd like.

[mylegacy]

[He blinks, turning around to look at Tadashi now - seriously, where did he come from? - and looks up at him with a pinched expression.]

Neat . . .

[It comes out like a totally foreign word, which, in fairness to him, it actually is.]

It's very busy. [A beat.] What kind of tea?
