Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names go to the other post, and N-Z names comment here.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.
Stefan (Alesci) Salvatore
Looks like you've arrived on move-in day! Cardboard boxes of several sizes (small, medium, AND large) are scattered across the room, each neatly labeled with the owner's contents and begging to be unpacked. Strangely enough, no two box has the same label, and as you get closer to a stack, they seem heavier than usual. Unpacking these boxes may take more time than expected.
As these boxes take up the bulk of the room, it may be harder than usual to notice Stefan, but he's by the bookshelf with a box labeled "??????, ????". Every few seconds, he picks out an item from the box - a stake, a popular nonfiction novel or even a stuffed cat - and tries to add it to the shelf. Instead of resting on the edge, however, each object disappears in a flash of light, returning its essence back to the box as quickly as it was taken out.
Although Stefan grumbles with each item he picks up, he has yet to notice how full his box remains. (Nor does he look any different from how he might appear on the Fleet, save for slightly different attire - a rolled up dress shirt and black slacks.) So what's your first move?
A) Opening a box to see what's inside
B) Exploring the room (+ the contents already unpacked)
C) Bothering Stefan
D) Looking out the balcony
E) Something else altogether!]
C
Hey, is this your room?
[There was no way she wasn't going to notice Stefan straight away. She'd pick him out instantly even in a Where's Waldo? book, and especially when he's dressed up like that. Was there some special occasion she didn't know about?
Smiling, she goes over to the leather chair and plops herself right down to watch him unpack. She toes at the nearest box, trying to figure out what's in it.]
no subject
Kind of. [Not an answer he would like, but one that'll suffice for now. He shakes his head, before he adds--] Sorry, I need to get the boxes out by tonight.
Think you could help out a little?
[The box at her feet reads Salvatore, 1942. She'd have to get up to pick the next-nearest one, Salvatore, 1912 - but unlike the box at her feet, it's significantly bigger. There's even bits of dried blood, though it looks faded, rather than anything new.]
no subject
[She slides out of the chair and lands on the floor next to the "Salvatore, 1942" box - right now, she's too lazy and relaxed to get up and move to a larger one.]
What's in these?
[She gently pulls up the top for a peek.]

This is totes a move-in day; Max is an expert on those at this point. She's moved from Arcadia Bay to Seattle and back to Arcadia Bay - she knows how this goes. ]
Yo, dude, need some help unpacking?
[ She heads over to the nearest box. Without reading the label, she goes to open it up. ]
no subject
[Stefan shoots her a grateful smile, actually taking a break from his efforts.] That would be great, but don't go to any extra trouble on my behalf.
[The closest box to her is labeled "Alesci, 2014." As she opens it, she'll find a stuffed vampire bat, a Tokyo metro ticket, an open house ad for a gorgeous house in Locke City, New Jersey, a blanket covered in cat hair, and a copy of the Qu'ran. Which item attracts her attention first?]
no subject
[ She kneels down to get a good look at the objects in here. A... stuffed bat, really? Looks way too cute and cuddly for Stefan. ]
Hey, what should I do with this? [ she asks as she picks it up... ]

[So she just looks at him and sees - a guy. A guy with a serious bookshelf problem, and if her first instinct is to annoy him a little bit, that's because she thinks his hair looks silly, not because she thinks he actually deserves it.]
[She's at his elbow in a few quiet steps, arching one eyebrow as she watches the stuffed cat poof out of existence and back into the box.]
You know, labeling a box with question marks isn't very efficient. Neither is buying a bookshelf you can't actually put things on.

Moving in's supposed to be way more stressful, right? As he looks over at her, trying to place where he might've seen her before, Stefan furrows his brow. He's got nothing. Maybe this is a friend of Bonnie's.]
You don't have to stay. I've still got a lot to unpack. [He looks at his box.] Is the stress getting to you too? There's no question mark here.
no subject
[Weirdly enough, the serenity bothers her. It reminds her of the way she looks when she's lying, and she doesn't like that.]
I'm not stressed. Things are just changing, that's all.
I'm not leaving, either. I want to see what happens.

[So it's not terribly surprising that he goes for the boxes first. There's a stack of three by his foot; he leans down to open the top one and dig through the top layer of contents inside.]
no subject
If nothing in the box appeals to Caesar, the other two boxes in the stack are Alesci, 2001 (cw: islamophobia, discrimination, etc.) and Salvatore, 2009.]
no subject
[And, when his hand hovers between Alesci, 2001, and Salvatore, 2009, his choice comes from a muted desire to believe in the humanity of a man rather than the monstrousness . . . so he opens up the one labeled Alesci with tentative curiosity.]

[She's referring, of course, to the disappearing items.]

[Stefan shoots Ahsoka a strange look as he pulls out a book titled "Ramadan Reflections." Unlike everything else he's pulled so far, it remains on the shelf.]
Typically, when you move in, you unpack everything. [Gestures towards the rest of the boxes] Though it's taking a lot longer than expected.

So Stefan is moving... where and why? Vima puts her hands on her hips, considering, and then decides to combine her options: say hello while peeking into a box.]
Looks like you're getting ready to ship out.
no subject
The opposite, actually. I'm gonna live here for a while.
[The box Vima opens is labeled "Salvatore, 2009." Inside are a football jersey for Mystic Falls High, an old flannel shirt, a diary, a gorgeous silver spherical necklace, and an Italian cookbook. Which one grabs her attention first?]
no subject
I wonder what that could beVima just thinks that it probably would be fun to read about, but only when you can close the covers on it.]You are, huh? [She takes another look around.] Well, it looks like a nice set of rooms. Cozy.
[Since he hasn't objected to her opening the box--and hey, if he's moving in she's practically being helpful--she decides to poke around what's in there. The diary is noted, but what grabs her more is the necklace--she has one too. She reaches for it.]
This is pretty. Where'd you get it?

[But at least this one doesn't seem as dangerous as other ones he's been in. And hey, he sees his friend right away- so he'll go over to talk to him instead of snooping around]
Hey Stefan...have a lot of stuff to unpack?
no subject
[Stefan grins, setting his current box aside as he turns to look at him. His last attempt - that dumb demigod book - is dangerously wobbling on the edge of "existing or not existing," but he's ignoring it for now. Whatever bad mood he was in earlier, it's gone.]
Unfortunately, yeah. Sorry about the mess - I thought it would've been all clear by now.

Yo, Stefan!
[ He makes his way over, but very nearly trips over a box on his way. He manages to not fall over, and gives a little bit of an embarrassed chuckle as he properly shuffles his way around the obstacle to close the rest of the distance between him and his friend. Then, when he gets to see one of those objects disappear, he frowns. ]
Whoa. What the heck? How's that even happening? Is it doing that to everything?
no subject
[Stefan waves him over with a smile - which, of course, morphs into a grimace when he too looks at the empty bookshelf.]
Only the stuff I touch. Honestly? I've got no idea, but at some point, it's gonna stay put.
[He sighs, setting his box aside.]
Think you could help me out a little?
