Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names go to the other post, and N-Z names comment here.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.
Wanda Maximoff
[The room is made up of three tiled, stone walls, and one wall that is entirely glass. This glass wall, it soon becomes clear that it is meant for observation. A window through which the room's occupant can be safely studied. In fact, should you approach the wall to look out, shadows pass across it every so often. Silhouettes moving past and sometimes stopping in front of the glass but never speaking. There is something strange about the other three tile walls as well. They seem to give off this vibe, or emitting a sensation of suppression. It's a numbing feeling, being in this room.]
[The only source of light is a single fluorescent bar of light on the ceiling. The light it gives off is dim, flickering at times too. It adds to the feeling that this room is not very well cared for, like it's a part of some larger facility that is slowly falling into further and further disrepair.]
[At first, you appear to be the only individual in the room. There is a single cot against one wall, opposite is a small shelf hanging off the wall. On the shelf are a few objects. There is a small music box, currently closed and making no sound. Next to it is a raggedy child's doll, something that looks hand-me-down but also well-loved. The third object is a pale, red ribbon, it's color clearly faded from time. The fourth and final object is the most odd looking of the bunch. It appears to be some kind of metallic orb with odd bits spiking out from it. It also appears to be leaking some kind of pitch black liquid.]
[Aside from the shelf, the wall opposite the cot also has pictures, photographs stuck to it. They are faded, frayed around the edges. One of the pictures appears to be of a family, a mom and dad with their son and daughter smiling at the camera. What's perhaps disconcerting about this picture is that the mom and dad's faces appear to be scratched out. Another picture is of a young man with gray-white hair stemming from dark brown roots. He is looking at something not pictured, off to the right of the frame. He looks concerned, determined to do something about whatever he is looking at. A third picture is of some sort of scepter with a bladed end holding a blue, swirling gem in place. The fourth picture is actually a newspaper clipping, a picture of six figures, each one clad in a uniform of some kind. The fifth and final picture is of a cityscape. The buildings looking somewhat debilitated, but there is a certain warm feeling of "home" to it.]
[The wall opposite the glass one has a single, metal door. There is no knob to turn, instead just an iron bar. The door is otherwise featureless. Any attempt to budge it will meet with failure. It's clearly locked, and there is no obvious way to unlock it.]
[Turning back around to look out the glass window-wall, you suddenly find you are not alone in the room. A girl is seated in a corner that was once vacant. She does not appear to have noticed you, nor does she seem to show any desire to do anything besides play with the some wooden blocks she is levitating in the air in front of her. There is a vacant, dazed look to her expression, but she is smiling, clearly content to just sit and play.]
[The choice is now yours. Do you take a closer look at the photos? Do you pick up one of the objects sitting upon the shelf? Or do you try and interact with the girl?]
---
[[Content warnings: Death, neglect, torture, and just otherwise heavy emotional stuff. Wanda's backstory is simply not a warm, friendly one.]]

Ah.
[That explains it, and a quick glance at the other photos confirms his suspicion. A part of him had been here after all.]
Wanda?
no subject
[The girl in the corner, however, does not respond in anyway to his question. She continues to sit idly, levitating and rotating the wooden blocks around in front of her face.]

[You can't see the figure drawing close to you. His footsteps stop, you can tell whoever it is standing right next to you; yet, you still cannot see him. Then a voice, most likely the figures, echoes out from the darkness to your immediate right. The voice is low, a little raspy, the sound of a man in his early to mid 40s.]
Well, now... let us see if this one offers any potential.
[The sound of a machine whirling up by your head. It gets louder, the whirling faster. Then, suddenly a flash of blue light, and then blinding white. Pain. All you feel is pain. Everything in your body, your mind screams. It burns, every bit of you to your very core is stinging, blisteringly hot.]
[You try to open your mouth to scream, but you can't. Somehow, in all the pain, some small part of you is able to remember that you have been muzzled. Like an animal. That is the last thought that crosses your mind, before you give into the surge of white-hot pain and start to pass out.]
[As everything starts to fade to black, you hear the voice once more, now growing more distant, more numbed--like hearing someone on the other side of a glass wall.]
Promising... very promising... continue your tests doctor. And do not worry. Should the experiments fail... well, there are plenty of spares...

sounds good!

Wait!
[It's dim here, he realizes, but there is at least some semblance of light. Not at all the complete suffocating darkness he's known more than once in his life. That shred of logic is enough to make him pause. Breathe. Look.
He turns, slowly, trying to calm himself, taking in the wall of photographs but passing over the content when the girl finally catches his eye. Felix startles back, thumping against the wall in obvious confusion at her sudden appearance]
Powers! Where did you come from?

Carefully, he kneels down in front of her, careful not to touch her. He's not sure how she might react to having her play disturbed, and he's seen the kind of damage he's done to the ship. He's not quite as resilient.]
Wanda? Are you all right?
no subject
[But then, something odd happens. She doesn't look away from the blocks, but one of her arms stretches out, a finger pointing past Felix. She seems to be gesturing towards the wall with the photos and the shelf.]

He finds himself pulled back to the photographs, and leans in to study each one closer. There are two that draw his attention the most - the photo of the family of four, which brings a small frown to his face, and the photo of the grey-haired young man, which is the one he reaches out to delicately touch around the edge with the tips of his fingers.]

[People start to fade into existence around you, they are all running, sprinting towards something to your left. Their faces and features are blurred, but it's somehow clear that they are running in a state of panic. Turning to your left, you see large aircraft with an open tops, boarding ramps open and ready to accept these fleeing specters. Something tells you that these are rescue ships; in fact, a strange sense of joy and hope pass over you for a moment. But then, a new figure crosses right in front of you. This one's features are clear, easy to see. He is a brown haired man, with his trimmed close to his head in a sort of military cut. His uniform is unique, but it seems to be archery-related in theme. The glove on his arm, and the empty quiver on his back serving as further proof of this. The name "Hawkeye" swims in your mind.]
[The man run towards a small child, a boy lying trapped in the rubble. He's able to pull the boy to safety, scooping him up in his arms. He turns, begins to carry him back towards the ships. However, he stops in his tracks when he hears the whirling sound of helicopter blades, and the unmistakable revving of a machine gun warming up. Sure enough, the aircraft appears, swooping in on the man and child. The gun starts firing, carving a path towards them. The man's face is grim, accepting the fate that inevitably seems to be barreling towards him. He turns his back to the aircraft, attempting to shield the boy with his body. But then, just before the hail of bullets reaches him, a silver blur streaks past, and suddenly the man and child are gone.]
[In their place is the silver-haired young man from the picture. Bullet holes in his torso where the shots ripped straight through him. He stands, shudders, makes eye contact with the man and boy he saved, now kneeling safely behind a car slightly to your right. He says something to the man, but you can't make it out. The silver-haired one falls to the ground, dead.]
[Before you can even move or react to this scene, you hear a scream pierce right through you. You turn around, trying to locate the source of that agonized cry behind you. Instead, a wave of scarlet, blood-red energy washes over you. Everything goes black.]
[You are back in the prison cell now. Everything as it previously was, except now the little girl in the corner is now studying you with a curious expression. She doesn't speak, only stares.]

As he orients himself to the cell in which he's in, Shawn's gaze falls towards the girl in the corner. He can't ever ignore a person, no matter what kind of place he might end up in, so he takes a breath before he approaches her.]
That's uh, a pretty cool party trick you've got there.
no subject
[Suddenly, the girl swiftly twists her wrists and one of the wooden blocks splinters apart violently. Some of the pieces shoot past Shawn, hitting the far wall on which the pictures and shelf sit. A few pieces even pierce through the pictures, not damaging them beyond recognition, but certainly ensuring that they are good and pinned to the wall.]
[The girl herself is completely unharmed, but scratches and bits of wood litter the walls and floor around her.]
no subject
He flinches as some pieces fly past him - please, God, don't hit him, he is way too young to die! - before he allows himself to take another good look around. If the girl doesn't want to be bothered, he's not gonna try anymore.
Instead, he turns his attention to the pictures on the far wall. He'll talk to her once she's in a better mood. (Maybe. Hopefully.)]

he's been in rooms like this before. his instinct was to tuck himself against the wall with the door and slide down next to the bed. there, he lets himself sink into a little shape, hug his arms around his shoulders. a couple of times, he was held in places like this willingly... but the other times, it wasn't his choice, and he's only grown warier of observation cells since he left home.
he eyes the shadows passing by the window, and then all of the objects on the shelves, and then the photographs, trying to see if any of them are familiar... just as he picks up that this must be another one of those rooms, there's a girl in the corner--and she looks kind of familiar.
in a... spacey, strung-out sort of way. he knows the signs. he won't judge.
after a moment of deliberation, he decides that the best course of action is to scuttle closer to her... almost walking on four limbs, staying very low, and seeing how close he can get to her and the blocks before she gives any sign of noticing him.]

He spots the stuff on the shelf first, and he's just about to reach for something when he gets the feeling that he's suddenly not alone - sure enough, when he whirls around, he spots the young girl with her wooden blocks. He swallows down a sound of surprise, takes a deep breath in order to steady himself... and then, his eyes light up with recognition. ]
Wanda...?
[ She seems pretty vacant, if not enthralled by her wooden blocks. So he takes a second to turn back to those things on the shelf, and because he clearly never learned not to just randomly touch things, he picks up that red ribbon and holds it in one hand.
He examines it for a second, and then, he'll try to turn back around and see if Wanda has actually moved since he last looked her way. The ribbon remains in his hand. ]

[At one such table is a familiar looking little girl, standing in front of a display of ribbons. She has long, brunette hair, and she appears to be wear a small red dress, dirtied from frequent wearing. The child looks like she hasn't bathed very recently, and her overall appearance is a little haggard. She's fixated on the ribbons in front of her. They are all vibrantly colored, arranged in a rainbow display. She is most keenly looking at a rather brilliant, crimson red ribbon. The stall manager has largely been ignoring her, dealing with some other customer. However, when he sees her standing there, he shoos her away, shouting something in Russian. It's hard to make it out the wording exactly, but you can tell it is definitely not a term of endearment.]
[The girl shuffles off, looking hurt. She keeps glancing back longingly at the table; however, you quickly lose sight of her in the crowd. As you are about to follow after her, quick movement catches out of the corner of your eye. The stall owner had turned away momentarily to pick up something underneath another table, and in that time a small, brown haired boy had darted past his table, snatching a ribbon.]
[He's gone before the shopkeeper even looks up. In the little boy's hand is the same crimson-red ribbon the girl had been staring at it so intently. Following a few paces, you're able to catch sight of the boy ducking down a nearby ally.]
[Peeking around the corner, you see the boy handing the little girl from earlier the ribbon. She looks at it, looks at him. A big smile spreading on her face. She wraps her arms around him, giving him a big hug. She says something, also in Russian. Somehow, you know the words... she said "Thank you brother."]
[The edges of your vision blur again, growing dim and then dark altogether. When you come to again, you're back in the cell from earlier. The older girl from before is still sitting in the same corner, levitating the wooden blocks. Looking at her again, it's easy to tell now who the little girl in the bazaar was.]
no subject
Yep, that boy has it. He resists the urge to shout, following after him instead, into the alley and around the corner... And what he sees brings a smile to his face. Yeah, he would have done the same thing, honestly. "Thank you, brother." Oh, so... that's what's going on here--
He's back in the cell, and he looks at the ribbon in his hand again before putting it back down. That little girl, the brother... The other vision he saw, back in Wanda's room on the Starstruck... Pietro. It has to be.
He turns to Wanda again, sees her still happily levitating that block. He moves to her, sits in front of her. His eyes flick back and forth between her and the block, and after a moment of quiet, he finally speaks up again. ]
Hey... Wanda? You okay?
no subject
[After a moment, a small grin appears on Wanda's face. Does she recognize Yosuke? Or could it mean something else?]
