[She holds his hand for a moment longer than she intends to, and then gravitates back towards the boxes. She knows now that she has to do this, for Stef. Her own hesitance doesn't matter, because this is his life. And he deserves it back.]

Okay, let's do this.

[She sits down firmly in front of the box marked "1864".]

[Salvatore, 1864 is the heaviest box of them all, with worn edges and old, weatherworn objects inside. More than a few items stick out this time, though - at the top, there's a old, slightly yellowed portrait, labeled Katherine Pierce at the bottom, along with an old diary and his lapis lazuli ring. It's a duplicate of the one around his finger (actually, if you squint, it reads 'D' in place of that S on his ring). Underneath those three items, there's the usual outfit - this time, a tan suit, with all the accessories to match. (The white shirt, though, has dried, faded blood.)

There's also, strangely enough, an old football near the suit. It looks roughed up, as if it's been used a lot. There's not a lot in the box, and yet, each item feels as if it's got the weight of the world.]
