...Why didn't I think of that? If I had a spacesuit, that could make things a little easier! ...as long as I don't accidentally teleport out of it.

... Yeah, don't do that.

I mean. Is that really a danger? Have you done that before?

[digthefuzz]

Well, no, I never tried that before. But I know my powers well enough to have a pretty good idea of all the unfortunate ways it can go wrong...

[resnipstance]

... Well. Can't argue with that.

[digthefuzz]

Right! But, ah, it's just part of the life of being a mutant. There's lots of ways things can go right, too!

[resnipstance]

Yeah? ... You should tell me about them.

[digthefuzz]

Well, all the places I can get to, I can go there in the blink of an eye! And I never have to worry about walking too much, or locking myself out of a room!

[resnipstance]

[A short burst of laughter]

That's true! I never thought of that. You'll never have to waste money on a speeder or talk public transport, either.

[digthefuzz]

Um - right, sure! Except even teleporting can tire me out eventually...

[resnipstance]

Makes sense. Everything we do consumes energy, right?

[She moves over to the record player. She's never seen anything like it.]

What in the universe is this thing?

[digthefuzz]

Heh... That's a record player! It's a really old school music player!

[resnipstance]

Really? This thing? It's huge!

[She pokes it once experimentally...]

[digthefuzz]

Really!

You know how people say you should start off small? With technology, it's kind of the opposite!

[The record player will turn on but doesn't play anything. There are no signs of any records, at least not in plain sight.]

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka wouldn't even know what a record would look like to look for.]

Guess so. [She flicks it on/off a few times...]

How do you get it to work?

[digthefuzz]

Heh. You're doing it right now! ...Except there's no record there to be played.

I'm sure there's got to be one somewhere around here... It's a black disc that's just big enough to fit in that player!

[If one looks around, some of the areas large enough to potentially hide the record include: the drawers of the desk, the backpack hanging from the chair on the desk, the ominous closet and the couch.]

[resnipstance]

A black disc, huh...

[She checks the drawers, first. Most obvious location, right?]

[digthefuzz]

Right!

[Indeed! Most of the drawers will just contain generic papers that don't mean anything, countless memories of homework assignments that Kurt has wiped from his mind.

But in one of the bottom drawers, under a few of those papers, there is exactly one record to be found. It has a scratch across it, and right underneath there's a flyer for a Sadie Hawkins Dance at Bayville High.]

[resnipstance]

[She has no idea what these things are supposed to look like, or what a Sadie Hawkins Dance at Bayville High is, so she just holds it up in Kurt's direction once she finds it.]

Is this it? This is the only thing that looks like a black disc that I could find.

[digthefuzz]

[Kurt nods and gives a thumbs up.]

You got it, dude!

That one's kind of sappy... but if you're cool with that, let's rev that baby up!

[resnipstance]

[She shrugs.]

It's just music. Besides, I'd like to hear what music from Earth sounds like.

[It takes her a second to work out where it goes, but after that she places the record on the record player and pushes the on button. ... That'll work, right?]

[digthefuzz]

Then go for it.

[He smiles.

And so, the record spins and a song starts playing. A song that can be heard in the background here.

As the song plays, Ahsoka will find herself slowly being immersed in the memory of the dance. The sights, the sounds, the human-looking Kurt dancing with a lovely young lady.

"Sorry about the gloves. Oh, I feel like such a dork! I mean, getting a rash the day of the dance... must be my nerves!"

"I think they make you look handsome and debonair!"

"Really? You don't think I look like a butler or something?"

Her giggle sounds even more musical in his memory. "No. I'm glad you came with me."

"Well I'm glad you asked."

The memory fades out for the moment as the song continues playing, but another memory will come later in the song if it keeps playing.]

[resnipstance]

[She lets the song keep playing, entranced with the warmth of the memory. Attachment to another person. So this is what she could have had, if she hadn't been a Jedi...

When Ahsoka speaks up again, her voice is softer.]

... She seems nice.

[digthefuzz]

That's Amanda. ...It - it was nice. [He says softly, nostalgically.

And as the music picks up again, the more memories flow through. The dance continues.

"Kurt... I have to confess something. I know about you. That you don't always look like this.

"Uh... yeah! I know. This is one of my good days! You should see me in the mornings."

"You know what I mean. The real you, that you hide. Ever since I found out, I can't stop thinking about you."

"Amanda! I don't know what you're talking about. I'm... I'm what you see. That's all!"

"Okay, Kurt. I can wait. Until you're ready to show me."

And so the image fades with Amanda holding an uncertain Kurt, and the record scratches to a halt.]

[resnipstance]

[Oh. She lets those emotions flow over her, too. Warmth, love, anxiety. First love. It's... good.]

... Did you show her? ... In the end.

[digthefuzz]

Yeah, I did. [He says softly.]

You know what she said? "Blue's my favorite color".
