[When the ship finally lands, Riona is out of the ship in a shot, Kiter in tow. The little pup darts around, happy to be off that tin can and able to run around. For the time being, Riona avoids the forest proper, and actively has to shoo Kiter away from the woods.
Barred from exploring, Kiter will happily run up to other people, with wide puppy eyes in the hopes of entertainment or, even better, belly scratches.]
B. Exploration/Searching for that SOS
[Riona finds it hard to ignore the call of the wilds for long. With Kiter safely on the ship, she sets off, armor on and sword and shield on her back. The urge to romp around in the wilderness is strong and she's been cooped up too long to ignore it.]
So, what shall we do? Get lost or try and find the source of that distress signal? I've no bloody idea where that might be, though.
B.
I'm curious about the distress signal, but...it'd probably be bad to just run off into the woods without a clue.
no subject
[Was it recent? Or had it been sitting there for years, ignored and forgotten?]
Perhaps we should just head into the forest and see what's in there first. As unsettling as this place seems.
no subject
[With a basic message like that with no following responses? It's probably just running on automatic, if that was his guess.]
Good idea. Won't know until we look, after all.

B. They'll totally find nuggalopes and get distracted >.>
He's geared up as well, laden with Champion armor and his custom staff on his back, plus rations and potions just in case. No lyrium, so he'll have to be careful, though he does have those leaves that sort of help. Thank goodness for the elfroot though or he'd have to think twice about this.]
I've got an idea of a general direction, but that's about it. Still, we should be able to find it that way eventually. Plus we can map our way as we go for the rest of the fleet's use later.
yes good
[Though she'll stick close by. He might be armored, but she's the one with a shield.]
Let's hope we don't get lost. Something about this place makes me uneasy.
no subject
[He grins, but it's entirely a joke. He's so used to leading and since there are only two of them anyhow, they can walk side by side save for where the underbrush is the thickest.]
I don't think we'll get lost. The sun's at our left, so to get back we just need to put it to the right.
[Provided they can still see it under all the mushroom cover. But that's a problem for the future Champion and Warden Commander.]

I have a bad feeling they wouldn't be mutually exclusive of one another. We can get lost looking for where it comes from.
Ugh, this would be a billion times easier if we had someone on Communications.

[Luckily she has an okay sense of direction.]
Yes. I sort of wish my augment hadn't changed.
no subject
[He glances around, squinting.]
Oh well, we'll just work with what we got. Try and make a map while we go so we don't get lost.

heedless of the dirt, sansa drops to her knees to better scratch the pup's belly. funnily, most of her more rigid manners seem to melt away when there's a dog to coddle. ] Kiter's growing well, [ she comments. ]

Mm, he has grown a little. Believe it or not, though, he's not as big as he should be. I don't know if something was done to him, given how he was brought here, but he was larger when he was this age back home.
[Mabari grow very quickly. He's still quite small, comparatively.]
A full grown mabari will reach my waist in height.
no subject
Mayhaps he enjoys staying pup-sized. He gets more scratches that way.

[Her tone is teasing, but frankly, Riona doesn't want to get lost either. It's just usually what happens.]

I believe we should try to find that distress signal, naturally, but I also think we might want to find a way to mark our pathways out, so we know where we are going, where we have been ... and most importantly? How to get back.

[Finrod kneels down, offering his hand for Kiter to inspect before complying with the request for belly rubs- and grinning up at Riona.]
Your friend here is quite charming.

Meanwhile, his mistress laughs a little.]
It's almost rather confounding. Just a flash of the puppy eyes and he has people wrapped around his little paw.

B. /slides in late with nugs and happiness
We could wind up doing both if we try to find the signal. We need to narrow down a direction, if possible.
\o/
[She doesn't like not knowing what they're going into. Sure, that happened plenty of times during the Blight, but she could at least have some educated guesses. Here, who knows what's in this forest.]
no subject
[Leliana can't really find all the answers right away, with such little to go on. Riona's right. If they get lost they could very well stay that way for a while and with little supply. The last thing they need is Sokka or Allen becoming more stressed on their behalf.]
Then I suppose we'll just have to test our luck.
[She grins, feeling a bit adventurous for a change. She'd grown cynical over the years and overly cautious. Somehow being with the Warden made her feel bits of her old self slipping back into place.]
What do you say? We don't have to wander far, just enough to perhaps explore an hour or two and then come back.
[There was minimal chance of getting lost that way, she thought. Not to mention if they stayed in a radius where Kiter could lead them out - it wouldn't be so bad, right?]
