[Hey, it's vacation time! Thanks to his and Asuna's, uh, paycheque-boosting shenanigans, Kirito has enough disposable income this month to spend some time on the expensive asteroid. He'll be spending a good chunk of time self-indulgently shopping, both with Asuna and on his own- though the solo-shopping is mostly to find something pretty for his lovely wifefriend. While on this asteroid, he'll mostly be using his Spriggan avatar, even if the wings don't work here, considering it's sort of a cave.

He's still sort of clueless when it comes to presents, so if a Fleeter happens to wander by, he might just grab an arm for their attention to ask-]

Hey, uh- do you think a girl might want something like this?

[It's Kirito, and he has really weird taste, so it's a 50-50 shot that the answer ought to be "no". He might not even know what it is. Please help...!]

[Eventually the funds start to run a bit lower than he likes, which means it's time to move to a less pricy asteroid. He spends some time on the Paisley, but cabin fever is a very real thing and it isn't long before he's out and about looking for ways to cushion the bank again. There's plenty of options, of course- he does some random labour since his strength's been properly boosted, escorts, guard duty, transport. Basic stuff.

And then conversation on the Paisley turns towards the local love for music, which in turn brings up the fact that they have some actual talent on board... honestly, it's mostly Freyja's fault. And he was only going to set up the sound system at first, but then his GGO avatar came up, and suddenly...

...well, suddenly he's in said avatar, shuffling through racks of fluffy outfits most definitely designed for girls, wondering how the hell he's in this situation again. He does want to help them earn more money for the ship, so that part isn't the issue, but the rest??]

There's no way I can learn the words for that many songs in a day. Even if it's just lip-sync... ahhh, I'm screwed...

[He's just mumbling to himself at this point, so he's easy to interrupt. Or you could help him shop!!]

[Okay, enough of that idol stuff. At some point he finds himself off in the wilder part of the settlements, taking a stab (quite literally) at hunting for a while. He's garbage with a bow and guns are too noisy, but he's acquired some handy throwing knives, and with the Spriggan avatar's stealth skills, he can easily sneak up on the local critters wandering around. Actually carving the meat off is... definitely a learning experience, and the skins are useless to him so they'll get sold, but the meat is what he's after.

Once he's got enough of a collection, he gets a nice campfire built up on the outskirts of town, and he's just hanging out roasting meat to try it out. Come and join the barbeque! There's no way he can eat this much meat by himself. (Though any leftovers will definitely be going back to the Paisley's fridge.)]

[It's been a few hours since they separated to do their own thing, but thanks to her menu function, she's easily able to find him again. The smell is potent enough that she's able to smell it from the air.

Landing a few yards away, Asuna walks over to his little set up, a smile forming once she sees how intricate it actually is.]

I hope you weren't going to eat it without any seasonings.

[Find Mon-El trying on some various leather jackets.] I wasn't expecting so many skulls or studs or any of this. [He looks critically at the spikes wondering how people don't hurt themselves.

Later, he finds some pet rocks to marvel at, watching them intently because the sales person swore to him they move.]

[He can't really explore a new system without trying out their sports and activities. He's already come away from that being all he does, but without much else to throw himself into, there's no reason it can't be part of what he does, right? So, he gives stalagolf a try, often hitting the ball much too hard for a putt. At least once he accidentally sends a ball through one of the barriers, breaking it. After that he decides the ATVs might be safer, and Kate was challenging his ability to drive vehicles, so he could use the refresher.]

[He wasn't planning on trying to perform, but he was looking at something similar to a guitar that was for sale and a small crowd formed around him. The next thing he knew he was singing one of the songs he'd learned from Winn's karaoke while using the "guitar" as a prop more than an instrument. He does get into the performance aspect though, having fun singing it acapella style. Seeing someone from the fleet might snap him out of his Back to the Future-esque moment.]

[Natasha's in the audience, easy to miss in a leather jacket, her makeup and hair a little more rock n roll than she usually prefers. But she likes blending into the crowd, at least as much as she can.

She'll be part of the applause he gets, though, not as enthusiastic as some of the crowd but not insincere.]

[ Elena happens to overhear his comment about the skulls and studs. She's considering a pair of leather pants that she's not sure she's got the courage to actually wear. They seem a little too...evil, or Keith Richards. The guy's comment makes Elena smile. ] This place has definitely got a style. I'm not sure which decade, but...it's a style.

[She was confined to ships long enough that she was getting antsy, so when she gets the chance to stretch her legs she takes it. She visits as many asteroids as she can, taking in their sites and offerings, and mentally planning dates with Winn. But that doesn't mean she won't share an adventure with someone else over some natural areas with rock gardens or urban areas with their shops and restaurants. You might even find her looking pensive in an art museum. You know her ex-husband used to paint.

If you're very lucky you might see her phasing her way through the back wall of a jail after doing something terribly illegal on Meston. Might want to walk faster if you want to talk there. She's guessing if that ridiculous offense can put her in jail, escaping jail will be even worse.

She'll also be doing research on the bioluminescent plants in hopes of bringing some back to the Twin Roses' cargo bay garden. She sees potential uses for the ships.]

[Most of her shopping is responsible stocking up of foods and other supplies. There's also always an eye for gifts. You never know when someone might have an anniversary or she and Winn might invent a new anniversary. But she definitely finds herself looking at clothes on this planet. They are a little more her style than they have been on a lot of planets. Of course, sometimes her past tastes were suspect. She does better now, but every now and then she just has to try on the ripped fishnets or spiked collars or studded, chained, zippered, and spiked everything. There are some keepers though. You might just find her while she's modeling things she tried on in the mirror. Why don't they just put those inside the dressing rooms?]

Telluria -- I make this look good

[It's nice to get out after being stuck on the Iskaulit for a month even before they'd been drifting, and Felix is satisfying more than one kind of boredom in the busy, colorful streets of Telluria's markets. The point of fact being that he finds his wardrobe a little more limited than he would like. Now, most of the fashion here isn't quite to his liking (far too much black and a penchant for artistically ripped pants), but with a little digging, he finds some exciting options.

Most of it involves some manner of ruffles or sparkly lace and very tight pants. Find the wizard modeling one outlandish number or another looking excessively pleased despite himself, even if he has no idea what fashion this even is. It's loud, and complicated, and he loves it]

Meston -- look but don't touch

[Telluria has an allure, but the smaller colony has far more reasonable prices on other essentials he's been hunting for, to add to the library and still under construction lounge. With any luck, he'll finally find what he's missing here.

Sadly, no one bothered to tell him than the merchants here are twitchy about handling the merchandise, and that unfurling a rug to get a better look is against the rules.]

A fine? Don't be ridiculous! If they wanted me to ask the merchant first there should be a sign! [His voice is climbing in volume every second and he's probably dangerously close to getting arrested for shouting]

Either - I love the nightlife

[While he's a bit out of his depth, Felix has to admit that he loves how alive these like rocks are. While the rougher parts aren't to his taste or ability, he spends time wandering, taking in art galleries and shows everywhere. Whether street show, coffee shop, or club, Felix can be found sitting there with a bemused but somewhat skeptical look on his face]

I'm not sure if the music here is better, or I'm finally getting used to all this noise.

Nightlife

[Fenris is only here to work, in all honesty. Doing whatever job he can pick up. He does notice Felix, though, and at least knows the man well enough to respond. ]

It is not the worst music I have heard since leaving Thedas. I wouldn't say it's better, though.

Beverly Crusher | OTA

[For most of the first couple of weeks, Beverly is spending her time on Meston - following the laws, even if they are a little strict, proves to be no problem for her. She's certainly encountered more... extreme ones than this. And it's more than worth the price of relaxation after the stresses of the previous month. You'll be able to find her in any number of places around the asteroid:

• The spa - From hot stone massages to mineral masks, Beverly's going for it all. Deanna would be proud.
• Art Museum - It's a monstrous shade of pink and more than a little misshapen, yet it is unmistakable as... a flamingo. (But is it art?)
• Shopping - Specifically, for scripts and musical scores. Rock operas dominate the selection of course, but the genres are as wide ranging as any she'd find at home and she is in heaven.
• Plant hunting - And, of course, she wouldn't be Beverly if she wasn't scouring the parks and orchards for new plant species. Never has she seen forests like these, glowing blue and green, creating their own kind of starscape of leaves.

But eventually she hears word of the special compounds in the soil of Vingloria that she'd like to collect for the gardens on the Iskaulit and on the Blue Fish. And well... she discovers something very alarming: a wanted poster plastered to a wall next to some colorful grafitti, looking for her and a certain other Starfleet doctor. Cursing under her breath, she rips it down and looks around to see if anyone has taken note of her presence.]

[He doubts very much he's going to find anything useful for himself here and the clothes are... he makes a face at some of the fashion choices of people here, ignoring the fact that his clothes are incredibly old fashioned to most people in the fleet. Eventually, he gives up on that and starts exploring the parks and also looking at plants, wondering if anything can be used for potions.

His cloak might catch onto a plant nearby any she's looking at while they're both there.]

[Beverly isn't alone in searching for music, Ezri picking up a few things she finds and leafing through, humming a few notes as she looks to get a feel for some of them before putting them back. After looking at a few though, Ezri spots a familiar head of red hair and beams.]

[the only reason she's here is for shopping and to visit the bars. That's it, because she's a simple woman with simple needs. The fashion is something she finds interesting and, at best, more tolerable than most things she's come across, and most importantly - it looks warm. If she sees someone she knows, she may even ask their opinion on what she's looking at - watch out, it's flannel.

Then there's the bars, and . . . well, there's no excuse or reason there other than she likes to drink. Certainly not as much as when a certain boyfriend wasn't there, but she's a creature of habit. And if she happens to pick up a quick job or two while she's at it? It all works in her favor]

b. Meston

[while more along what she prefers, she quickly tires of the overzealous authority and their ridiculous laws. All it takes is one fine - how in the hell did they know she was cursing anyway - to sour her mood, and . . . well, she has a temper, and if she happens to fight back and almost get arrested . . .

She's a criminal, what do you expect? Like she's paying for that shit.

So if you happen to run into her here, she's keeping herself to the darkest corners, hood up completely to mask her face. What a shady individual]

Telluria

[This place is crowded, fast-paced, and expensive. Yuan doesn't particularly like it very much - he's never been fond of the pretensions of high society, and loud music hurts his sensitive hearing.

Still, there is something to be said for the dramatic fashions. Run into him in a shop trying out a new style of cloak, or maybe the shopkeeper is trying unsuccessfully to talk him into some tighter pants.

If you're not much of one for clothes shopping, he can also be found in any of a number of bookstores. Fortunately for his poor ears, they tend to be a little quieter than the ambient background noise of the city, and he could always use something new to read.]

Meston

[Most of Yuan's time off the ship will probably be spent here. He's keeping away from crowds for the most part: being inside a ship is one thing, but somehow he's finding living inside an asteroid to be uniquely claustrophobic in a rather unsettling way - something about being in a wide open space where the air moves freely and yet still looking up to discover a ceiling is discomfiting.

The rock gardens are nice, though: natural enough to be somewhat comforting, without risking encounters with wildlife that he doesn't want to have to put in the effort of fighting. Find him sitting and reading by the light of a glowing tree beside a fountain.

At least until a little girl accosts him and begs him to help rescue her toy which she's dropped in the water just out of reach.]

Where are your parents? Make them get it. [Tears well up in the girl's eyes.] Okay, okay! Just don't cry. [And so he reaches out as far as he can, just barely brushing the toy with his fingertips...and pushing it a little further out.] Dammit. [If he gets up onto his knees on the lip of the fountain, maybe he can reach...but the position he's now in is pretty precarious.]

Vingloria

[Of course, exploring the system means going everywhere, and honestly Yuan is probably a little more instinctively comfortable here among the rougher types than he is in the center of high society.

His demeanor may be comfortable, but his clothes stand out: it's only a matter of time before he finds himself cornered by some people who clearly don't intend to ask him politely for his assistance.

The way he's smiling at them as he draws his sword isn't very nice, but he's still outnumbered, and probably wouldn't decline a little help.]

[It's safe to assume that he will go anywhere, if only to snoop around, and/or try almost any activity at least once, so come at me!]

[It's okay, friend. Yuan is now saved from having to be even more undignified by a new figure appearing and just wading into the fountain beside him, unconcerned with getting wet. He might recognize Asuna soon enough, after all, how many blue haired, pointy eared residents are there? ... Actually, that's a good question.

Regardless, she manages to obtain the toy. She turns around and greets Yuan with a quick smile, offering him the item.]

A. Off the Bloody Ship! - Telluria Hotel
[Having spent a good portion of last month confined to his ship because the other option was to flounder around like an idiot due to that little fact of not being able to swim, Arthur had a bag packed and was out through the docking station as quickly as he could arrange a job and a place to stay. Even an island could get claustrophobic at times.

And apparently even he could get lucky now and then, because the hotel Tellurium based hotel he'd find would have been far out of his price range if their house band weren't temporarily missing a member. Some 'dumb' stunt with an ATV, he'd heard. And the instrument was close enough to a guitar.

While he tried to get out and see the city during the afternoons, mornings and evenings (outside of show times of course) were spent enjoying the hotel's amenities. Particularly the imported tea in their greenhouse cafe.

Arthur was pretty sure nothing could spoil his good mood, and actually had a smile for anyone coming to say hello or join his table. If it weren't for the... somewhat punkish clothes he had on in the evenings for the nightly performances, he'd almost pass for the perfect gentleman.]

Better than that fishbowl of a planet we stopped in last month, isn't it?

B. Shopping
[Arthur didn't really have anything in mind he wanted to buy (except maybe a crate of the tea the hotel served, but that was a little too expensive sadly so he had to do with just a few boxes), but the chance to get out and stretch his legs was too hard to resist. He'd seen indoor shopping centers before, but this... this was different.

Keeping a close hand on his wallet, he let himself go where his feet and whims took him, pausing for a break in a local park filled with glowing trees before going back to his shopping. Maybe a record or two?]
