I do enjoy taking up space.

[ one of his favourite things to do. but fine, he'll take a look at another object. like the double-bladed dagger. loki reaches for it. ]

[When Loki touches the weapon the sunny day vanishes and replaced with moonlight. He's standing in an empty field and some distance away is a group of twenty men holding onto a woman tied up in ropes. You instantly recognize this woman as your sister. She doesn't look concerned at all to her fate. Smiling as if this was some kind of game that was being played. Her mind damaged long ago so she can't see the very real danger she was in.

The twenty men are here because of you. You killed their ring leader's brother and he wants you to fight all twenty of them gathered here today, one on one, in exchange for your sister's life. The problem is that your heart just isn't into fighting anymore. Ever since that old crone put the immortality worms into your body fighting has lost all it's meaning. So instead to quicken the pace up you offer to fight them all on together. You'll even fight them barehanded if that's what they really want so long as they just let your sister Machi go free. They are less than impressed by the offer.]

Enough with this bullshit man! Don't give me this 'barehanded' crap! You're a goddamn samurai! You do that, where does that leave me? I got twenty guys together to fight the one of you!

[You just scoff.] Why don't you all play tag? If you're good boys I'll watch you.

[He snarls and places his hand on his sword as if he's about to draw it. Then suddenly his face softens and he orders his men to release the girl.] The hell with it. I overestimated the guy. I don't waste time on trash like him.

[Someone cuts Machi free and she starts to run towards you. Happily crying out your name as she does. This doesn't sit right with you. Something about it all seems off and it's too late to stop it once you realize why it feels that way.

The ringleader – he gave his name earlier but you didn't bother to remember it – draws his two blades. the very blades Loki had touched to start this memory, and strikes out towards Machi with them.] This ain't my fault, I warned ya I'd have some fun with her! Didn't I, Manji?

[Too far away to do anything about it you can only watch as he slices her in two. Her face more surprised than pain as she falls to the ground in pieces. But it wasn't enough for the bastard. He leaps into the air to strike at her again and you throw yourself over the top of your sister's corpse to protect it from further damage.

With a grunt of pain you can feel his swords sink deep. Ramming through all the way out the other side of your body with nearly all four prongs of the twin bladed weapons.] The sister dies, the brother follows. [He gloats above you, thinking that he has won this.] See ya, pal. In the next life you two can hang out together. You satisfied fool? This pathetic way to go good enough for you? It's all your own damn fault!

[Slowly you rise to your feet while getting your breathing back under control. It always hurts like a bitch when someone strikes your lungs like he just did. There's little satisfaction to be gained from the surprise and horror to his voice as you steadily stand on your feet yet again.] Son of a bitch! What the hell ARE you man!? Some kind of freaken zombie!?

My fault? Yeah. You're right about that. Her husband dead. Her losing her mind. It's all my fault. And the funny thing is, she couldn't even hate me for it. She didn't know how to anymore. [You turn towards your sister's murder with a bitter smile.] Thanks baldy. I guess it really is my only choice. I feel better now.

[He seems confused, but also hopeful at your unsettling calm exterior to what has just happened. Inside? Inside you're full of rage ready to be released.] Cool! So you're gonna fight? One on one?

Naw. [You give your arms a quick flick and the twelve different types of blades fall out of the sleeves of your kimono.] Instead I'll show you whether I can still do a hundred. So keep your eyes on the blades, buddy! See if you can count 'em.

[You don't make this an easy way to die. Moving so quickly and attacking him with such a wide arrange of weapons he doesn't even have any sort of chance to respond to you. In the end his head splits open with his stupid looking face of shock still on it. Before he even falls your body has fully healed from the earlier attack you took.

The memory will fade out as Manji throws himself at the remaining men. It's a long and bloody battle that Manji simply won't be able to lose just because of one fact that the other men were finally understanding: He cannot die.

When he moonlight is gone and the sunny day is back, Manji still sits inspecting his weapon. Apparently please with the work that he has done.] Just needs a polish. Hand me that polisher there. [Only he doesn't point at the polisher does he? But he is pointing at something. What would Loki like to pick up next from the items that remain as the swords are now gone, but all the other items are still there. Or would he like to leave now?]

[ loki had expected to feel more grief. his sister had just died after all. but there was nothing but cold anger. he wonders briefly if this is what thor is going through. if this is what thor feels after loki's subsequent death. he's . . . not sure what to make of this. ]

Why are you polishing these?

[Manji just grins devilishly at the question.] So it can cut through someone better.

[ dryly. ]

How droll. And when you're done, what do you do?

Done...? [There's a long pause as the dream apparently wasn't ready for this type of question.] Done cleaning then we'll...

[The samurai stares at Loki for a good long while. Trying to figure out why this picture didn't seem right despite what the dream state was telling him. The dream telling him that this is normal for Loki to be here, but Manji knows better. It shouldn't be a man. It should be a teenager.

Right? Isn't that right?] When I'm done? [He's having such a hard time holding onto that question in his head.] When I'm done then I'll finally be allowed to die.

[ loki frowns. ]

And death will grant you peace?

There is no peace for me. [He's not sure what he believes of the afterlife, but after all he's done? He doesn't expect it to be good.] But I can at least be done here.

[ loki recalls the girl. ]

But will the people you leave behind be done with you?

They'll be fine. Probably better without me. Eventually. [He can't die until he helps Rin take care of her revenge. He understands that she will likely be killed if he dies first, but after that then it will be fine.]

[ sounds fake but okay. loki's hypocritical enough to let it lie. ]

If you say so.

Now, if you're not going to help then you can just go and chop some fire wood. Your scrawny arms need it. [Rin. Is the name he leaves unspoken.]

[ loki scowls. ]

My arms are not scrawny.

They're twigs. You want to beat this Anotsu guy on your own? Then you better make your arms twice the size they are now. So either help or get choppin'. Those are your options.

[So is leaving. The exit is if Loki just walks away, but Manji doesn't know that so he won't offer it as an option. He is of course welcomed to stay and continue to cause mischief if Loki desires!]

[ who??? loki just surveys the room. it seems rather empty. not what he expected for a mindscape. he wonders if his powers hold any weight here. after all, he is a decent manipulator of the mind. his fingers flex idly as he observes the other objects. ]

[He is welcome to try! Manji thinks he's normal dreaming and is a rather simple man. Loki's magic will likely work.]

Did you not hear me kid? Make yourself useful or you're not going to get any food tonight.

[ loki nearly throws his hands up in the air. ]

I'm not who you think I am.

Well, you're either someone who wants to have dinner tonight or you're not. So if you want dinner either help me or go chop wood. If you don't want to eat tonight then get out of my face.

[ you know what. now he's annoyed. he flicks his fingers, coating the objects with dirt. ]

Enjoy cleaning. I'll be taking my leave now.

HEY! [Manji finally shoots to his feet the blade he had been cleaning in hand.] What the fuck was that for?

[He should know that this isn't normal. That people can't just throw dirt with a flick of their fingers like that, but he's stuck in a dream. Manji doesn't question it much like how any of these items are suppose to help him clean his blade. Instead he just goes along with it.] I don't even know why I'm trying to help you.

Last chance you spoiled brat. Clean up your mess or leave, but know this, if you leave there is no coming back. I'm not going to be there to save your ass anymore when you eventually get yourself killed.

Why should I care if I get killed or not?

[ barring that this is a dreamscape, it's still bold to think loki gives 1% of care over his own life. ]

[Manji scoffs.] I don't know. That's up to you jackass. If you want to die then die. Just don't do it here you'll make a mess.

Please. This place is already a mess. You hold onto all your blood and pain.

[Manji scoffs and waves a dismissive hand at Loki before turning his back on the man.]

[ sounds good because loki is going to leave manji to his mess. ]
