dreams in digital
( for A-M characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

Being on her bridge again was bittersweet considering what happened to the poor girl, but Pavel was pleased to see her regardless. He utterly disregarded the table that didn't belong and went straight for his place at the navigation console.]

[ Kirk stepped down onto the bridge floor, smiling at Chekov. It felt so normal, so natural to look at him from this view, even though he knew neither of them was exactly the same as they had been the last time they saw each other like this. Years ago. In another time. Another place. Another world, maybe. ]
How does it feel?
no subject
Like being home.
[But it wasn't real, was it? Pavel's smile fell as he touched the familiar controls.]
You must miss her.
[He knew that he did. And not just the ship. He missed the way it used to be, without all of the extra years and experiences and doubts. Back when home was a relatively uncomplicated idea and there was a place to belong.]
no subject
Yes, yes I do. I miss her and everyone on her. I miss the adventures, too.
[ His smile was wry as he watched Chekov. ]
Though I'm not sure how you feel about that last one.

Can you imagine Jaylah in this situation? I could see her and Looma getting on grandly, don't you think?
no subject
[He toyed with the console screen in front of him to see if it would do anything.]
no subject
Yes, that is what I meant - they would fight. And frankly, I can't say who would win.
[ Looma was taller and stronger, but Jaylah was quick and whip smart. She would give Looma a run for her money. ]
no subject
[Like, he'd put his money on Jaylah since speed and smarts win in his book, but.
Pavel pushes away from the console and goes to inspect the table that doesn't belong.]
What is this?
no subject
[ Kirk followed him, looking at the table with its dance of planets, knowing in his heart what each one was. He pointed to a red-orange planet, laced with yellow. ]
That's you.
no subject
[He gives the planet a closer look, trying to divine some further meaning from its coloring or its relationship to the other planets.]
I should touch it...?
[It sounds more like he's asking for permission than proposing a plan of action.]
no subject
[ Kirk motioned with his hand in a gentle "go on" kind of way. ]
By all means. They're memories of you if you're touching your planet, after all.
no subject
[He cautiously poked the red-orange globe.]
no subject
[ The memory is a fast one - people panting, steam hissing, metal crashing and groaning. It sang of desperation, of a certain type of fear, and then relief when Chekov appeared, saving the day in his red shirt like one does. The memory faded and the planets resumed, as if nothing at all had happened. To them, nothing probably had. ]
You're really good at that, you know. Pulling my ass out of the fire.
no subject
That's what crew is for.
no subject
That's what family is for, Pavel.
[ He smiled warmly at him. ]
