[He glances over at Biffy once the memory ends and they are alone in the drawing room together before his attention turns to some random point in the room. There were no knickknacks and baubles like in his own house aside from the ones prompting memories, but he's still looking at something like he's expecting something to be there]

Quite. For me, it was just another insult to the fact that I couldn't protect those I was supposed to.

[He realizes now Lyall had been trying to reassure him Biffy hadn't suffered and the care that was taken to make sure he survived it, but at the time, it had felt like a slap in the face. First the potentate and swarming, then Biffy almost dying, and then him being changed to a werewolf. Nothing had been in Akeldama's control that week]

I know it is many years too late to say this but I never faulted you. Never believed you failed me. Not even for a second.

[He sighs a little.]

Is there anything you wish I wouldn't see, my Lord? Already I have invaded so private a memory.

[Lord Akeldama doesn't say anything in response to that for a long moment]

It is still a lot to believe that, you understand. It is the responsibility of a vampire to protect his drones. Because of what happened, I disrupted all of them, all of my agents.

[He's trying to not make this about their relationship back then. Biffy is married now and he is really okay with it... as much as this memory makes it seem like he isn't]

I do appreciate the sentiment, darling. It pleases me that you didn't hold it against me.

I believe that is the only one I wouldn't have wanted you to see, but it has been. You can see whatever you wish.

I should have asked. I apologize for the rudeness on my part, my Lord.

[He shakes his head a little, looking around at the other items that are present there.]

These rooms can be terribly invasive it seems.

No, darling, it is well. 'Tis a part of me that I must deal with and if someone must know, I'd rather it be you.

These rooms are inconvenient to say the least.

They really are, aren't they.

[He smiles sadly as he looks at the item again before sighing softly.]

Then let us do it like this. What would you like for me to see next?

[Now when he turns to him there is a warmth to his look, a calm steadiness that invites Akeldama to walk this path with him as a friend.]

[Akeldama studies the objects that are displayed before he finally speaks]

Why don't you take a look at my weapon on the mantel, dear Biffy.

[He looks over at it and nods. Walking to it, he reaches up to lift it off the mantel so he can see what memory it will show him.]

[The drawing room was now replaced with a very Egyptian looking room, complete with hieroglyphic markings and drawings brightening up the otherwise dark walls. Somewhere in another room, there was music playing, but it was not in this room.

In this room stood a pale man in Egyptian clothing, beside him another in less extravagant clothing, nowhere as pale as the first. By the entrance to the room were several men in Greek style clothing, one of whom looked like he was about to collapse, really only held up by the men on either side of him.

The Egyptian spoke first]

You are wasting your time. King Matakara will not see him. Will not see any of you.

[One of the Greeks spoke next]

He is dying. They cannot cure him. We made the jour-

It would have been better to not burden his health by bringing him here.

[Another Greek continued]

She will not see him? After everything the king has done for her. He has made her home safe from werewolves. He was promised.

You can't demand metamorphosis from the ruler of the Ptolemy Hive!

[The music in the next room stopped. Finally the ill man spoke]

I want to hear it... from Matakara.

[His appearance was markedly different - darker hair and eyes, a natural looking skin tone despite looking ill, and what were clearly battle scars visible on his arms and legs - but the voice was familiar. It was Akeldama.

Without any conversation, a tall, statuesque, pale woman, dressed in what was clearly royal Egyptian attire, walked into the room. Following behind her was a young woman, dressed nicely]

Bastet, you embarrass me. Taking this matter upon yourself.

[The woman bared her teeth, showing of two sets of fangs. Clearly a threat to the other vampire. As the vampire known as Bastet gave her proper reverence in response, she walked over to the foreigners]

I have done your work. You said... you would. Whether you do... or not, I don't have long left.

[Matakara stood over him, considering him. His comrades seemed almost concerned, but even barely able to stand, he still was attempting a commanding air]

Then I suppose we have no time. We have nothing to lose for it.

[She made no move, but one of the servants brought in a chair, which she immediately took. Bastet moved to stand beside her as the Greeks brought the other man over. Once they reached her, Bastet practically snatched him away from them and helped position him so that he was supported and his neck was visible to Matakara. She started to lower her head but then she glanced up at the men still there]

I expect from you that no one will know how the King of Macedonia died.

[They seemed to agree and she turned back to the task at hand, opening her mouth and sinking both sets of fangs into the man's neck, blood trickling down as she started the process of trying to change him]

[So this is the moment of his transformation. To any other werewolf it might cause revulsion but he only watches with the utmost calm and respect for what is taking place. The King of Macedonia...Alexander the Great...becoming Akeldama. Well, one day that would be his name.

He smiles a little bit as he watches. He can see why the vampire would have wanted him to see this. This moment when he became all he is today.]

When you desire something you go to claim it. It's something I've always admired about you.

[It is important that Biffy see this specifically. Out of the two that were left, he had picked this one. He also appreciates that Biffy doesn't look away despite the fact that it is not how werewolves to do it]

Of course, my darling. I always have. It was so bittersweet, but it has lead to so much more.

It really has, my Lord. I'm honored that this is what you wished for me to see. Thank you.

We have been friends for quite some time. I felt it was important that you see how Lord Akeldama came to be everything he is.

You would not be yourself if you were not surrounded by those that love you. Even back then.

Of course. It may have been promised it, but I would not have survived long enough to return to her had it been me alone.

Who would you be without a large amount of followers there for you? [He laughs softly.] It's a shame I couldn't see what you were like at the height of your time as king.

[Lord Akeldama brought his hand to his chin humming softly as though he were actually contemplating it] I don't know. I really don't. There's only be a short period of time where I have not.

Hmm... that is a shame, but that's not one of the ones that's here.

That is alright. Sometime when we are able to have tea together again would you mind telling me some stories about that time?

I would love that, my darling fluff. Once this whole kerfuffle is taken care of and we are back on our ships, we will make it so.

I look forward to it already, my Lord.

[Because its Biffy, he's more likely to get straight answers than anyone else]
