_{[ Kirk shrugged off the cloak, looking down at the piece of red in his hands. He glanced down out towards Loki standing further out on the bridge, back at the robe. He laid it back down where he had found it, taking a deep breath through his nose. He meandered towards the edge of the "door" as it were, this time keeping his hands more to himself. ]}

It's a beautiful view.

[ Loki seems a little … different. Someone seems to have taken a brush to his face, because there are swathes of blue in a zig-zag pattern and one of his eyes seem to be a dark, blood red. His form seems to flicker on and off as if he’s not truly there and his voice tends to distort, like radio static. When you step onto the bridge, you can hear the siren song of the V̵̙͓̦̺͆͗̋ͩ̒ͅo͓͓̹͎̪ͪ͂ͧ̓ͨ̋͞i̭͎̹͍ͤ͊̆d͏͓͔̭̜͚, calling for your oblivion. ]

Is it? I'm rather used to it.

_{[ Oh. Was this... Loki? Some image of him? Was this how Loki saw himself perhaps? It was hard to tell in these things, but Kirk found that they tended to reflect mentality pretty well. He frowned softly, pondering that as he stopped a polite distance from the other. ]}

This is your homeworld, isn't it?

[ loki turns to look at the gleaming observatory. ]

It is one of them. A home, I suppose.

Which one? Does it have a name?

_{[ It was certainly something, all right. Kirk had never seen anything like it. ]}

Is winter a good thing or a bad thing?

Does constant winter sound like a good thing?

Guess that depends on who you are. Sansa seems to enjoy winter quite a bit. Me? Not so much. But I blame that mostly on a bad experience on an ice planet I had once.

[ loki grimaces. ]

Places of constant winter are nothing but cold and dark. There is nothing worthwhile there.

_{[ He looked back at the golden dome he had walked from, a shining beacon unlike anything Loki had described. ]}

[ loki glances at the ceiling of the observatory, neck tilted upwards. ]

This is the Bifrost. The bridge between worlds. The bridge to all walks in the universe.

So where would it take you, if you could use it? What's your favorite place in all the universe?

[ that is an interesting question and it oddly makes loki pause, a feeling he's not familiar in this space. ]

Asgard. It was always . . . Asgard. I loved Asgard.

[ he turns his gaze back to kirk. ]

It just never loved me back.

Why do you say that? You're not that bad.

[ loki looks skeptical. ]

_{[ He looked over at him and shrugged. ]}

I'll admit we're not the best of friends and I would best described as a "snarky asshole" - but those aren't reasons to hate people. Be annoyed with you, sure. But make an entire city of people hate you? No.

_{[ Kirk watched him for a long moment. ]}

Look, I have been up some crazy and honestly awful shit back my world. Galaxy ending kind of stuff. And you - you are a delightful annoyance.

[ he's not sure if he's insulted or not. ]

I'm quite sure I merit higher than an annoyance.

Maybe. Sometimes. My point is - you're still not all that bad. You have redeeming qualities.

I wonder. I am less certain of such these days.

And if you don't like where you are, well, you got a bridge to anywhere, right? Find a place that makes you happy. You know, once we all escape from the Fleet.

This isn't a real bridge. And those . . . options are no longer open to me.

So if you could leave the Fleet right now, then, where would you go?
