Eternal life. Being able to pursue knowledge for longer than most people were ever alive. Not wanting to have to experience death. Take your pick.

It has been a common rule for a long. Vampires can have no attachments when they are changed. Certainly not children. When an entire continent is looking for me, that's something more.

I would appreciate that. I know there are some here who wouldn't even begin realize the significance, but there are still some who would. I would prefer not to be disrupted anymore than has already happened.
