dreams in digital
( for A-M characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

Three, to be exact. Though in my opinion, the Eugenics War should count among them. Each came with its own reasons and faults.
[ He coughed. ]
Sorry. That's not a very upbeat subject, is it? And for all I know, it might not even happen in your world.
no subject
[Yes, he knows war, but he also understands what happens to people in war. And frankly, he didn't want to talk about that]

If it’s... not to personal. Can I ask why? Why you wanted to become a vampire? And even when you did why you let it be thought you were dead - at the time, at least?
[ He moved to take a seat, watching Dama curiously. His question is sincere, as most his questions are. ]

It has been a common rule for a long. Vampires can have no attachments when they are changed. Certainly not children. When an entire continent is looking for me, that's something more.

[ Those reasons made sense. Though he had to wonder at what that sort of thing did to the mind - living forever. He had seen what it had done to Krall with his extended life, but that man had also been stranded, largely alone. Anyone would go mad. Dama was not. ]
Have you found what you were looking for? When you asked to be changed?
no subject
In a way, I have. Not everything I was hoping for but I'd be pressed to complain about it.
no subject
Well, we can't get everything we want, right? I think it would get boring if we did.

[ He laughed. ]
Do you? I had always thought from the history books that you were someone to appreciate a challenge. Or did they get that wrong?

[ He laughs and sits back in his chair, watching Dama with a quiet marvel, letting it sink in that this man was... Alexander the Great. The Alexander. It was honestly mind boggling, really. Never in his life did he imagine he would meet someone like this. Though, considering where he had been living the past three years, that Alexander the Great had shown up in any form shouldn't be that surprising at all. ]
I'll keep it quiet - you being Alexander. I can understand why it's not something you go around sharing.

Besides it is far more amusing to not tell them who I am and see what happens.

Oh and I would never dream of taking such delight from you! Perish the very thought.
no subject
Yes, perish the thought. There are so few things that give vampires my age such pleasure.
no subject
Something tells me you always find a way to amuse yourself though.

Well, as the Cheshire Cat would say - “We’re all a little mad here.”
[ Which sounded slightly ominous given the situation, but when one had an opening... ]

[ He chuffed and smiled softly at the vampire. ]
Well, I think I've pried into your personal life enough for one dream, yes? Though I hope you might do my the honor of telling me more stories, sometime. You must have seen so much.

[If he has a good incentive, he’ll be more likely]

I look forward to it. Your insight is always appreciated, Akeldama.
[ He doesn't have one as of yet, but he'll come up with something to make it worth the other's time. ]
