( for A-M characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

It must've sucked balls, having all of that happen at once. Sorry... you guys had it rough.

[ to put it mildly. ]
The past no longer matters as much, but this was the narrative that framed me.
no subject
[Because sometimes the two don't coincide- that goes for anyone, not just him.]
no subject
[ only what the mind tells you. ]
But it is close.

[Oh well, might as well follow through. She reaches for the last book- and it's truly the last, because she's not sure how much of this she can endure. Damn that dangerous curiosity of hers.]

And so, the younger sibling kills one father to save another. Pride fills him at last. At last the golden realm could love him. Could not discard him. He had done what no one else could. They could see that he was a true son of the golden realm. But his brother had returned, changed. Gone was the Giant-Killer, here was the gentler brother he had tried so hard to reach and failed, every time. Wrought with anger, fear and pain, they fought on the bridge between worlds. The bridge shattered under the weight of the hammer and they fell — nearly.
Nearly . . .
The younger son told the high king what he had been trying to do. He asked for understanding — he was a fool — he thought his family would take him back — but he wasn’t theirs — they saw him for his monster that he was and said no. And thus, the monster was defeated, plunged back into the depths and the golden realm was saved . . .
The rest of the pages are filled with celebration and a single spread page with Thor and Odin standing over a mound of blue. And a pitiful voice whispers, I could have done it, Father. I could have done it. For you. ]

That was... a lot.
Finally she turns to look at Loki again, still frowning.]
Is that what you meant? Making it worse?

It is the start of all things. After that, the mind was fractured. Trust was difficult. Even the narrative spun circles around the mind. What was true? What was real?

[She glances over towards the void where she'd originally found him, her lips pursing into a tight frown. She wants to be mad at him, for the stupid and cruel plan the books revealed, but as he says things could be... twisted. And there's something seriously messed up about this place, that much she already knew.
Enough of that was real and clear that she's... annoyed, for sure. So she pushes herself to her feet, stepping over to him, and gives his cheek a little pat- not a slap, but nothing tender about it, either.]
Dummy. Love didn't do that, you did. Love's just an emotion. Love's what helps people forgive the fuck-ups, what helps you right the wrongs. Don't blame it for the choices you made.
no subject
Then I am unworthy.
no subject
Nah, you just fucked up. And whoever it is that said that is dumb, too. Or are you going to try and tell me that your brother doesn't love you?
no subject
Thor is a fool.
no subject
Yeah, probably. But that's not what I asked.
no subject
That's not important here.

[She hums, hands clasping together behind her back, and goes to examine the hammer and whatever just happened to it. She doesn't touch it, though- not again, thanks.]
no subject
Not particularly. Reciprocity does not matter in this place.
no subject
no subject
If you say so.

[She has no idea how this place works, or what this even accomplishes, but if she remembers after this, then it's something she'll keep in mind. Stubbornness is a trait of hers that he ought to get used to.
Seemingly satisfied (or bored) of whatever happened with Mjolnir, she gives the area another scrutinizing look.]
...How the hell do I even get out of here? I'm the nosy sort, but this is a lot, even for me.
no subject
That should lead the way out. The other is the Void, which I do not recommend as an exit.
no subject
[She takes a step towards where he'd gestured, pauses to reconsider, then approaches him and bumps her fist against his shoulder.]
Hey. You're carrying a lot, and it's a lot of bullshit, but I think you're doing okay, so... hang in there? You big godly nerd.
no subject
. . . Thank you.
no subject
[And with a wave she goes to the tapestries to find herself an exit.]
