( for A-M characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

"What?"
Kirk pulled away, though not far, reaching up with his other hand to cup Kurt's face, slipping into the thick hair along his jaw, brushing over the curve of his cheekbone. His brows knit in confusion, those bright eyes stormy with worry and concern.
"What do you mean your world is dead?" he repeated, the hold he had on Kirk's tail tightening, as if afraid the other might turn to smoke beneath his touch.

"I was in the process of sealing us shut from the rest of the multiverse to prevent the things responsible from doing the same everywhere. Considering we're here, I assume I succeeded." He quiets, leaning in to rest his forehead against the other man's. "Jim, I'm sorry. I thought you knew."
no subject
He hadn't known and he felt terrible for that, because he should have known, shouldn't he? Because he should have known and been able to do something, even though he knew the logic of that was flawed because what was he really supposed to do for Kurt? He couldn't affect his world. Couldn't stop what had been done.
His eye grew wet, though he held back the outright tears, shifting his weight so he could press in closer to Kurt.
"Well, looks like you're in need of a new home then, aren't you?" he said through a shaky breath.
no subject
"There are so many worse ways to die. It's alright." The implied offer he's choosing to ignore, ostentatiously in favor of comforting his--Jim. And that is foremost in his mind, but close behind is the sinking feeling that he's going to break this man's heart, and his promise to Remy. A Darkholme to the core.
no subject
How could he not? It was true that in terms of their relationship being anything physical, anything more than friends, had only been going on for a short while, but he did care for Kurt. Quite a bit. To know that he had nothing to go home to, that he simply had dark and loneliness - it hurt. It hurt so much. Broken a piece of him. Even if they weren't lovers, he would be making the same offer.
"There might be, that doesn't mean you have to accept it," he said, swallowing thickly. "When we find a way back to our worlds, you can come with me. You'll fit right in on the Enterprise, in my world. I mean, you're already science officer blue." He smiled shakily, letting out a sniff as he held back the tears and the clenching of his heart.

Except, given time to heal Kurt knows damn well he'd have kept going for the dream, his X-Men and their rotten universe. That realization is why his smile, though gentle and warm as it spreads across his face, is weighted with sorrow. He doesn't answer verbally, choosing instead to lean in and seek Jim's lips for a gentle kiss.
no subject
Not quite an answer, but not quite a complete rejection either. It was not what he hoped for, but it was also better than the worse case. He pressed into the kiss, winding his arms around Kurt, fingers still twisted around the space of his tail. He sucked gently at Kurt's lower lip, pulling back with a quick nip, as if to admonish the other.
"Think about it, okay?" he asked him.
no subject
When he looks into Jim's eyes and thinks of gold, the nagging familiarity clicks. "You remind me of Sascha, right now," is his whispered answer.
no subject
He kept the other close, taking his weight willingly, silently encouraging the other to let him take it, that with him he was safe. His fingers shifted to stroke Kurt's hair, not quite petting him so much as teasing the feeling of the dark blue locks, silken compared to the fuzz of his fur.
no subject
"Mhm. He said he wouldn't let it happen either. Ready to fight the universe, believe it or not." There's no bitterness in his voice, or laughter; simply a deep fondness tempered with wistfulness.
no subject
“Well, I’ve actually done that, and won,” he pointed out, continuing his gentle petting. He bent his head, kissing the top of Kurt’s head for good measure, able to take a sweet breath of him.
“A few times, actually. Hasn’t Chekov told you?”
no subject
The question gets a soft chuckle, more air than sound and mostly noticeable by the shaking of his shoulders. "Loathe as I am to crush your ego, Pavel and I don't often talk about you." He hesitates before lifting his head, an impish grin flashing at the other man. "Mostly we swear badly in the other person's native tongue."
no subject
"Or has he been convincing you that everything under the sun is Russian made?" he trailed his lips along the other's jaw, nuzzling into his beard, fingers twisting Kirk's tail higher up his wrist.
