[ Calibration Rooms ]
( for A-M characters )

Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

[The girl on the screen introduced herself as Mariemeia, heir to Treize Khushrenada, the former world sovereign. She proceeded to then claim rule over the Earth Sphere, stating that Operation Meteor would still take place with the remnants of colony L3-X1999. If anyone tried to stop her and the Barton Foundation, they would kill Vice Foreign Minister Dorlan... formerly known as Queen Relena Peacecraft.

The announcement faded, and the video was more like a memory again. Three Gundams, a black one with bat wings and a scythe, a bluish green one with a half clown mask on its face and gatling guns on its arms, and a blue-grey one duel-wielding curved blades, were battling against an army of mobile suits. Not far from them, two other suits, a smaller white suit with a pointed head, and a blue and white suit with a golden crested helmet, also fought against this army. The memory was with the pilot of the black suit... Duo.

They were running out of steam. One of the blades from the blue-grey suit had broken. The blue and green suit dropped its gun, having run out of ammo. They backed up against Duo's suit as Duo lost power to his scythe.

The other two suits were also back to back and surrounded. It looked bleak. They discussed the option of self-detonating their suits, but that would take out too many innocent lives in the city around them. Was this the end?

But then the proximity alarm rang out. Another suit? Where? Above them! They looked up. It was Wing Zero... a white suit with red and blue markings, badly damaged, hung in the air above them. The angel-like wings on its back seemed to be falling to pieces, and it held a massive gun with the one operational arm.

It fired. Several times. The beam came crashing down on a bunker not far from their location. Then... an explosion. Duo heard Quatre cry out Heero's name, and Noin say, "No!" He clenched his jaw. That couldn't be it, could it?

But now, crowds of people began surrounding them. Bystanders, blocking the way of the enemy suits, protecting the Gundams that had fought against them. People on foot... in the streets, clogging access. Duo spotted another suit on his radar.

It was another Gundam. Green, with red and gold, both arms capable of extending, but it stood motionless, also surrounded by the protesters as if they were protecting it with their bodies. It was was also badly damaged.

By now, the army couldn't move without killing innocent people, and they stopped fighting, waiting for orders from their superiors... but those orders never came.

    The battle... was over.

The memory faded, shifting to Duo with two others standing on a hill overlooking his Gundam along with the other two he had been battling along side. He raised his hand, a small device similar to the one he had used when attempting to destroy Deathscythe before Operation Meteor, and pressed the button. The three Gundams exploded in a flash of light.

Tim might recognize the blond boy from the staticky memory he had watched earlier. Duo called him Quatre. The other, a taller boy with a bluish turtleneck and hair that hung into his face, talked about if he still had a name. The other two insisted that Trowa was a good name for him. He seemed to accept that. The three of them seemed to come out of this as good friends. The memory faded away, leaving a black screen.

Tim would hear the distinct sound of a soft slap, like someone catching something in their hand. If he turned, Duo was leaning on the counter, tossing an apple and catching it. He glanced over.]

Sorry most of what's here is actually more about my life back home. It's been a while. I guess I was feeling nostalgic this time around.

[Tim turns to look at Duo]

Why am I here? or rather why are you here? If you've left the Fleet I shouldn't be able to be here. In your mind? If I'm right.

    [personal profile] divine_braid 2019-02-25 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you're here because it's calibrations. I'm here because, well... I'm guessing I got caught by the Atroma. They've been trying to get us back since we got away.

But you're right. I shouldn't be here. But, since I am, the only thing I can think of is that they succeeded in getting me back.

So, yeah. You're in my head.

[Duo was trying to play it off as nonchalant, but there was definitely an undertone of frustration, and maybe a little fear. After all, he couldn't imagine Atroma was going to be nice about them having gotten their freedom for as long as they had... and they were going to want answers and leads to get the rest of the Interceptors back.]

You seem very calm for someone who has been recaptured by the people you've been running from for so long.

[Tim pulls up a chair to sit in and leans back into it]

And those words on the last channel. 'We can't let them know. So many died' You argued to tell us something.
    divine_braid: (Yup)

    [personal profile] divine_braid 2019-02-27 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
What should I seem like instead? Quaking in the corner? Clutching some pearls? Running around in circles screaming in panic? [Duo shook his head.] Nah. This ain't my first rodeo when it comes to being captured. It likely won't be my last. I went through all of this all the time back home, too. I always find a way out.

[He smirked, but then turned somber again at the mention of the channel in question.]

Yeah. That. See... I want to tell you guys some stuff, buuuut the leader of the Interceptor Fleet says we can't, yet. Atroma is always watching, got it? Me an' the Dr Mrs being here in calibrations? It means Atroma wants something in our heads... likely the method we used to escape. So, as much as I wanna tell you, I can't. Not here. Not like this.

What I can tell you is that, once we find a way to tell you what we did, you guys need to find a better way to do it. Not only is Atroma gonna try to beef up how they act against it, but the method we used wasn't failproof. [Definitely serious expression now.] People died when we did it. And none of this dying and coming back like what happens in the Fleet. They're gone. It wasn't pretty. I highly recommend against it.

Well no, I wasn't expecting panic but at least a little concern. But I guess as you said, you're used to this at this point.

So let me get this straight, you guys got out but the Atroma actually don't know how you did it but want to know. So they've caught you again and are using calibrations to get into your heads to find out.

But even if you tell us or the Atroma find out, it doesn't matter because that way was too risky and got too many people killed so we shouldn't use it anyway.

Why could you not tell us this while in the mines or over the network? Even if you don't tell us the method, the information that the Atroma don't know would have been nice.

Quite frankly I'm still not convinced you're not Atroma plants.
    divine_braid: (Kind of Worried...)

    [personal profile] divine_braid 2019-03-04 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
[At the last statement, Duo narrowed his eyes.]

So, it's okay for you to sit here and pry it out instead? How do I know you're not a plant? I don't know anything about you other than you're here... supposedly part of Drift Fleet. But, if you want to think people are plants from Atroma, they could already be in among your group. It doesn't have to me or her. It could be the captain of the ship your on.

I get not wanting to trust people. I'm the same way. So, I'm not expecting you to take any of what I'm saying without a grain of salt. In fact, I think you're doing the right thing.

As far as sharing, though? [Duo shrugged.] It wasn't my call on if I could or not. And as long as those augments are a thing, we can't trust anything in anyone's heads here in your Fleet.

If you want out, the door will wake you up.

[Tim sits and waits for Duo to get his insulted reply out. He can understand the anger towards the implication but it doesn't change the possibility of all of this being part of a setup. Once Duo is done, he doesn't even really acknowledge the rant. It would counterproductive since Duo is obviously on the same page by the end of it]

I'm presuming that despite the fact that you got away with the Interceptors that you remain fitted with the Augments we're all given? I've heard a couple of people have attempted to remove them unsuccessfully. Have you heard any different?

    [personal profile] divine_braid 2019-03-12 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
    [Duo sighed heavily.]

The technology is really advanced, and it's embedded in something that's kind of an important thing to have, your brain. You tell me if it's going to be safe and easy to remove.

    [He shook his head.]

We did try. With really mixed results. [He rubbed the back of his head, low, behind his left ear, right where the augment would be... but it was hard to tell if he still had his or not.] Some weren't even brave enough to try removing it or let it be attempted on them. Just trying to find a way to break the connection had triggered some really bad glitches and reactions in some people.

I'm not saying it should be attempted without great care and research. I was more curious to see if it had been done successfully once you were out of their sphere of influence. Although I suppose if you're still wearing it I'm not sure you ever left it.

I wonder if the installation for it is done on the Marsiva? and if therefore that would be the only way to get it off.

Have you encountered any talk or knowledge of the Atroma during your travels?
    divine_braid: (Worried Thoughts)

    [personal profile] divine_braid 2019-03-26 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
That's another reason we're being less than forthcoming with some of the information.

We woke up with it, just like you guys did, and sometimes, if you show up far enough ahead of the ship assignments, you're in this hospitality deck on the Marsiva. It would make sense that's where things are done. It's just that some people arrive so close to getting the assignment for their ship, it's easier to just send them straight there after they get their augments.

Not much more than you guys. We did catch wind of that computer data a while back, and used the cover of the party to raid the guy's secret storage. The Floot Loops thing, too... but they seem to not know much about what happened either. A lot of the systems along the route didn't seem to recognize us, either. It's weird. It's like the show isn't as big a deal as they're makin' it seem.
