But in response to that, a soft wind does start to blow. And in fact, some of the clouds start to shift and change around them.]

[ Well, how about that. Haruka watches, sniffing in amusement. She won't address the little whale, but she will glance, smirking, at him out of the corner of her eyes.

The place performs for visitors? ]

[jamminshield]

[It's performing alright. And then the whale continues to speak in the child's voice.]

Somewhere windy? I can give that to you!

[actsmagnificent]

[ That gets a laugh. Okay, she'll bite. Nothing for miles but a whale that sounds like a little boy, so she might as well. ]

Don't go out of your way.

[ She looks intrigued through the cool bluster, all the same. ]

[jamminshield]

Don't worry... I'll just go in your way!

[And the clouds shift completely. Suddenly, everything looks like a beach in the evening light. It's mostly barren except for two objects. One is a certain kind of metal detector lying unused near her feet, and the other is some kind of iphone that is half-buried in the sand several yards away.

And of course there's a calm ocean breeze blowing in this area...]

[ Well, how about that. Haruka tips her head into the wind for a moment - this is her favorite kind; it might even beat out the wind that blows across a racing circuit - and then, getting a lungful (this might be a dream, but ocean breezes will be in short supply in her life for a while), she takes in the rest of the scene.

Beach comes with its own props, apparently. And...is the whale still floating there?

Either way, Haruka wanders over and nudges the phone with her foot. ] You included litter?

[jamminshield]

It's not litter, it's my phone!

[He's still there alright, anf he laughs.]

[actsmagnificent]

Fancy that. [ Haruka picks it up. This doesn't look like any phone she's ever seen. It's just a...it's just a box with a screen. No keypad.

The nineties have struck.

Deciding it's not important enough to fiddle with, she keeps it in one hand as she looks back out to sea. ] It's a good view.

[jamminshield]

[A touchscreen!! A shame. If she did look at the screen, the options include a CONTACTS LIST and a MUSIC PLAYER.

As it is, Steven drifts nearby as she looks at the sea.]

Yep! Good views are a great part of living at Beach City!

[actsmagnificent]

[ The name makes her chuckle. ] Above or under the water?

[ You're talking like you live here, but when last she checked, sir, you were a whale. ]

[jamminshield]

Above, really!

[He laughs, and then the whale does shift a little, so now he's his normal human self, plopping down into the sand.]

[actsmagnificent]

[ That's a good trick. Haruka laughs and hands the kid back his phone now that he has, y'know, the proper appendages for it. ] Don't lose this. Who knows when somebody's going to call for a change of scenery.

[jamminshield]

[He chuckles as he claims it.]

Thanks! I don't think I'll be needing it right now, though. Unless you want something!

[ She's good. "Beach City", huh? Cute. ] How about your name?

[jamminshield]

[He beams at her.]

My name's Steven Quartz Universe! But you can just call me Steven.

[ Think small, why don't you, whoever named Steven. It's enough trouble having a secret alter ego named for a planet.

She starts walking down the Beach City, well, beach, enjoying the sights. Considering the last thing she remembers is being stuck spacenapped... ] I take it you're not actually living here now.
