( for N-Z characters )
Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names go to the other post, and N-Z names comment here.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

Is anybody out there? Anybody?!

Above you, scraping sounds are heard, and the voices grow nearer. They're right above you. A creaking sound begins, and suddenly you're blinded by bright light. Your vision clears. You get a look at your surroundings.
All of the men, save the younger one, are wearing a black uniform. One of them, face indistinguishable from the others, hauls you out of your hiding place. He's gripping you tightly by the shoulder. It hurts, his fingers pressing into your muscles, almost like claws.
The woman's crying now, appearing terrified, despite the defiant look on her face. The other male-- Bellamy, you realize-- is being restrained by two of the uniform clad men. He's yelling louder, fighting to get to you or the woman...
Your mother. Your veins suddenly turn to ice. What have you done? She'll be floated, released from the Ark's airlock, into space. Execution. All for what? Having a second child?
All of this hits you at once. A scream erupts from you, silent until now. There are no words, just fear in the form of a throat burning scream.
The man drags you away, claws tearing into your flesh, your protests brushed aside like a light breeze. You mean nothing. You can do nothing. Everyone you love will die, and it's all your fault. He drags you to the doorway, and as you go through, you black out.
---
Darkness. Silence. Fear.
Then voices. Again. What do you do?]
no subject
My... my mother...
And then, he's in the darkness, hearing voices again. He doesn't even breathe now because he's so worried. And he wonders, if this where the men brought him? Or is he back - did he actually go back?
Ultimately, Kurt decides to wait quietly and try to listen, to see if he could recognize any of the voices speaking from what just happened, and to try to make out what they could be saying.]

A couple minutes pass. More talking, more footsteps, some almost on top of you. But eventually, they leave. You feel more relaxed.
The hatch above you is slowly lifted open. You're free to get out now. When you do, the area around you isn't at all what it should be.
There's a giant metal ship behind you-- the drop ship, sent from the Ark-- and a camp surrounding you. Tents and the occasional shoddily built hut stem out from giant metal ship. Enclosing the camp is a fence. Sharp stick, pieces of metal, poles, rods, almost anything possible to salvage is used. It's safe.
A young man walks towards you. It's your brother-- No. Octavia's brother. Bellamy. He stops in front of you and reaches out. Except it's beside you. Turning, there's Octavia, only different. They hug like they haven't seen each other in weeks. You go entirely unnoticed.
His arm still around her shoulder, they begin to walk away. You watch them, and Octavia looks back, eyes staring right at you. She knows you're there. No one else seems to. Only now does it register; there are dozens of others milling about, all teenagers.
Where you go now is up to you. Inside the dropship. Into a tent. Out a hole in the fence. Or just stay where you are.]

Hello? Hey! Earth to Octavia!
[She looks at him at least, she makes some eye contact... but she leaves. He sighs and decides to head into a tent for cover.]

Beside the pile of furs and leaves that serves as a bad, there are three different, objects: a book, a sword, and a mask. Since you're here, you might as well take a look at something.]

There's a fight.
You're circling a man, much larger than yourself. But at the same time, you see yourself--Octavia?-- circling him, same sword in hand. It's confusing, but understandable. For whatever reason, you don't dwell on it much. The two exchange strikes with their--your-- swords. You feel the strain in your arms, almost to your teeth.
A sharp kick to your side or your leg, and you're thrown down into the mud. It hurts, your vision blurs, but you're up again. You go for him, full well aware of the outcome.
Again and again you're beaten down and up once more. You even get a good punch at his face. Then it's over, life spared by a woman-- Indra.
The blows and blood and bruises are everywhere, you'll be feeling them for a long time. It's okay, they're worth it. Soon, the crowd disperses, and you're hoisted up by a man, Kane. He asks what you're trying to prove. Through coughs, you rasp: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." It's a good lesson.
---
Medical. It's what makes sense. You're getting patched up, still very sore and in pain. The door hisses, and you look over. It's Indra.
What does she want? She states you fought like a child, but you didn't give up. You have spirit and strength. She can teach you, as her second. An apprentice. You agree, and you'll start tomorrow.
As Indra leave, you can't help but feel something. Maybe pride, maybe accomplishment. No matter what it is, you've earned her respect.]
no subject
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Sounds like a good one, he agrees with that. Alright alright alright alright
And then he feels the pride at Indra's acceptance. In fact, he pumps a fist in there.]
Yessss! We made it! [He proceeds to do a goofy victory dance, sword in hand and all.]

Hey. Hi... Do you see me? [He sets down the sword and steps towards her in concern.]
You okay?
no subject
Guess you saw that, huh?
no subject
Um... Yeah. I saw... a bunch of things.
[Then he adds, as if it's his fault.] Sorry...
no subject
Nah, not your fault. Honestly, I'm glad you only picked up the sword. Hell, anything in here isn't that bad compared to some others.
[Octavia pats the spot next to her.]
no subject
It was really cool. You were awesome! [And then he heads right over to sit on the spot indicated by her patting.]
no subject
I got the crap royally kicked out of me in front of most of the camp and ended up being closer to your natural color than my own for a few days.
no subject
It was still cool how hard you tried... and how you earned that person's respect.
...Sorry, that must not be the most pleasant thing to relive.
no subject
Stop moping, it's fine, I promise. It hurt like hell, but it was worth it. I'd do it again if I had to.
[Octavia angles her head so he can see her grinning.] It's one of the better ones you could have seen.
no subject
If you say so!
Man, if that was one of the better ones... You really must have been through a lot.
no subject
Me and everyone else who came down from the Ark and lived.
no subject
I'm sorry. I wish there was some way I could help. But... there isn't, is there.
no subject
Now you're just being stupid. [She actually laughs.] Trust me, you do help. It's good to know there are people I can turn to in the fleet, and I really appreciate that.
no subject
Well, I'm here whenever you need someone to turn to. Okay. [And he says that with the placing of a hand on her shoulder.]
no subject
[Her expression softens as does her smile.]
Thanks, Kurt. It means a lot. Vice-versa, too, okay?
no subject
[And that helps him to smile in turn.]
Fine then! Consider that vice to be... versed!
