Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names go to the other post, and N-Z names comment here.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

I've cleaned up worse. [ mild -- more deflective than competitive, and said below her breath as she rubs her blood-slick fingertips together. dream-logic is convenient, at times, and so she produces a cream handkerchief from her blazer pocket and wipes her hands clean.

she stays near the dresser, but half-turns her body so she can watch the specter on the bed. ]
Are you here to play a game?

[ asking, of course, about the cards. ]

Ain't we all in the grand scheme of things, just have to play the cards life deals us. [There is a chuckle as Remy flattened the deck into one palm again, they seeming to vanish from sight as he did so.] If ya wanna get really metaphoric 'bout it all.
mucked: (☂ 'cause the hypnotist entranced him)

[ a soft hmph as she considers his figurative embellishment: both verbal, and physical. ]

I rather prefer the tangible and concrete, I'm afraid. [ and yet she's in no rush to leave, nor to abandon this quick-and-dirty game of wits. ] Besides, we're rather lacking enough bodies for a proper game.

[ poker. bridge. whist. anything, really, that's worth playing. ]

Not a fan of pick up 52 then? Gotta admit, I only like half of it m'self, 'nd not so much the cleanin' up side of it all.

[Remy spread his arms out in front of him.] Make yaself at home, or as much as the space provided 'llows for. Not m' first choice in 'ntertainin' guests, but could be worse places. Would rather get the chance to offer a lady a drink before bringin' her back to my bedroom, but beggars can't be choosers now, hein?

[ hmph. but she takes his statement for what it is -- a joke -- and gives it the meagre laugh it deserves. ]

No, they most certainly cannot. [ she eyes the work-desk, with its accompanying chair, and gestures: ] May I?
    cajunspice: (:))

    [personal profile] cajunspice 2015-11-04 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Remy waved a hand to that same chair.] Please.

[ the sensation steals across her body all at once: of work, and of tasks undone. it's enough to make her tear her eyes off the man and focus instead, quite sharply, upon the desk. she feels her bones settle into the chair -- and knows she's into it for the long-haul. there's things what need doing.

but her glance across the desk's contents make her think only one thing. blueprints? artefacts? jewelry? ]
    A heist, monsieur?

[ by now, she's half-pinned the accent. french, but not exactly from france. french-canadian, perhaps. her mind is nowhere near the southern us. ]
    cajunspice: (>))

    [personal profile] cajunspice 2015-11-10 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose ya could call it that, mademoiselle, [No denying it because there really wasn't any point in it.] I normally just call it a job, but a rose be a rose 'nd a steal be a steal, no matter the name.

[Remy continued to eye Peggy, but more as curiosity of how long the desk would hold her. He felt a little bad he hadn't warned her, but it was short lived. It wasn't harmful, it wasn't dangerous, it wouldn't cause her pain once she stood up from it, and even then it was only the ache of sitting for so long than anything long lasting. It wasn't his favorite part of his room, but it was a certainly a place of loyalty for him, of things that had to get done and to tough through the negatives that came with it.]
    mucked: (☂ you have made)

    [personal profile] mucked 2015-11-11 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ her short glances turn to longer lingering looks. peggy dares to card her fingers through the gathered intel, as though the nut is hers to crack as well. a spy's mind isn't that far off from the mark -- for what is tradecraft except the delicate removal of facts from where they're meant to be? she begins to grow absorbed with the work on the desk. ]

And what's the ballpark payout for a job like this?
    cajunspice: (cross-armed)

    [personal profile] cajunspice 2015-11-14 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Picking himself up off the bed and on his feet in one smooth movement, Remy trailed the couple of steps needed to see the work on the desk, eyeing it up for a moment and placing it in his memories.] That one got me 'bout quarter of a mill' out of it. [Moving to point out another of the blue prints.] Half for that. [And another] One hundred grand for that one, was more straight forward.
mucked: (☂ i laughed and shook his hand)

    [personal profile] mucked 2015-11-25 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
Quite the payday. [ hmm. ] Suggesting, I suppose, that you're rather good at what you do.
    cajunspice: (>))

    [personal profile] cajunspice 2015-11-27 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I like to think I am. [And he liked to say he was even more so, even if it wasn't true. Ego was a powerful thing, and Remy really needed others around him to keep it under control.] Sadly, may be a little rusty now days, been trapped too long without a good run at something.

Might I ask ya then, since we sharin' career paths, what might ya do then, cherie?
mucked: (☂ away from the streets and signs)

    [personal profile] mucked 2015-11-28 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, mon brave, I imagine it's much the same as what you do -- only with a far more modest paycheque and enough bureaucracy to choke a few horses.

[ so, tradecraft. normally, she wouldn't be so quick to admit it (or even allude to it) except that this workspace makes her feel so...focused. and the confessed felt like work that needed doing. ]
