See, for regular people who don't have the same shiny mental defenses, the thought of havin' someone else in your brain is right terrifyin'. So I guess I'm still a bit confused by you throwin' open the doors of your mind for a tea party, even though from what you're sayin' it sounds like ya just think of it as... convenient.

[He nods, though he does look...not confused, exactly, but concerned.]

Should anyone here actually be powerful enough to harm me in my own domain, defenses would mean little in any case. Still, I suppose it would be strange to someone without telepathy to begin with.

[A brief laugh.]

Maybe a 'lil bit. [Holding up a gloved, even in her mental projection, forefinger and thumb to measure.] Especially since we can't just... force ourselves out of our heads at random.

[...dramatic glance around.]

[He sounds amused at that; but then, how much of his life has been usual?]

[There he goes again!

Trying not to respond to the inherent... well, strangeness of the offer, Rogue does her best to just... listen. She's good at listening.

And he had said something about wanting company.

She does, fortunately, possess enough tact to not... outright... say that.]

...well, I appreciate the offer. [She makes a show of glancing around.] Though, gotta say, your place wouldn't be harmed by a couch or somethin'.

[He smiles, both at her acceptance and the feedback. In this place which is a reflection of himself, there aren't any objects or images of friends, enemies, or close relationships as most of the others seem to have. The isolation of the crystal in the center of the room isn't just for show.]

To be more welcoming? Hmm.

[And almost as soon as he says it, a modern-deco couch materializes next to the wall, all in yellow but solid to the touch.]

Oh, nice.

[Rogue likes the smooth lines of the couch even if, well, yellow is not a favorite color. She chooses to move toward it and sit.

She knows what it's like to be lonely.]

[Needs more... well, less yellow.]

[Yes, well, yellow is a theme here. The only other color that doesn't appear on himself or visitors is light blue, and that one...she doesn't need to meet that one. Nobody who remains pleasant needs to meet that one.

He does smile brightly that it's comfortable. These things aren't always so easy to determine. Still, if he intends to entertain visitors, he supposes he must supply something to entertain them with. Another gesture and a matching low table appears in front of the couch, along with a chair across from it that he takes for himself. As it's all simply condensed fog, it's still the same yellow color, but the textures seem to be accurate, at least.]

That is better, I think. I'd offer you refreshment, but I'm afraid it's all in our minds.

[Rogue blinks at the sudden materialization of additional furniture.

Okay. So. She was going to be visiting, then. Might as well enjoy it as much as she could, then.][It has been a long, long time since she has had chocolate now.]

[Something to eat anyway? Well, why not. What are those chocolates Mr. Stark always likes to order? He concentrates a moment and a box of extremely expensive Swiss chocolates appears; the box itself is in the same yellow shade, but the chocolates appear to be normal colored.]

Now this, I could get used ta. [She reaches out for a piece.] An' the best part is, no calories.

"That is an advantage," he acknowledges, smiling a bit. "Though I admit I'd have difficulty making anything I haven't eaten, and that's a fairly short list."

"Then ya should definitely have some of this," she said, after taking a bite. "We do not get quality of chocolate anythin' in the Fleet."

He takes a bite and chews, looking focused. "It is very different from the chocolate-flavored protein, more than the texture can account for. I'll keep a lookout for anything like it when we get to another planet or station."

Because they will; he's confident they won't be stuck on the Marsiva forever.

Rogue sighed, "They didn't seem ta have it where we've been so far... at least they've had coffee."

Coffee.... and another chocolate, yes, that would be good.

...how does one visit with a newborn android? (While in his mind, mind.) Rogue wasn't very good at small talk in general, and really had no idea where she was going with this, except that she didn't really like anyone to be lonely.

That's interesting in itself, actually - their hosts are clearly familiar with Earth culture, judging by the media available. Perhaps coffee (or a reasonable facsimile thereof) is easier to find in this realm of space than chocolate.

"I've acquired seeds or sprouts of many edible plants from the areas we have visited. I will try to keep an eye open for chocolate as well." Hell, it might turn out to be even more popular than the basic alcohol-yeast he and Eugene had found.

As long as she's willing to sit and chat he'll be happy to oblige, but the night will eventually end and they'll all awaken.

Rogue was not very good at polite small talk, but she would stay and discuss chocolate and food until the point where she couldn't anymore, and then finally take her leave.

It probably helps that he has enough control over the environment to provide her with refreshment, but all the same, he's glad to have the company.
