[Only Richie can, and he isn't here. In reality, Santanico had been freed before, but she still feels like a prisoner inside. She will as long as Malvado is alive.]

[Eyebrow raise.] But this is your dream-world, right? Or something close to it? So... technically... logic shouldn't apply to us here.

That might mean it'd be easier to leave. [That she wouldn't be so tethered to this place like she had been back home.]

I haven't been in a ton of people's dream worlds, but you're calling the shots here, so... [He grins] There's a back exit, right?

Fire code kinda dictates that you've got to have one.

I imagine there must be now. [She hasn't tried to escape in years, she knows it's futile now.]

[So Shawn takes another look around, and well. There doesn't seem to be a fire exit (or even those glaring neon signs pointing to one) - so he re-focuses his attention on her dressing room table.]

Ooor maybe not. [He reaches for the nearest item, hoping there'll be something relatively useful here.]

[He grabs one of her bracelets and it's enough to send them into another memory.

They're in a car. He's in the driver's seat. Technically, it's Richie's seat, but that's a minor detail at the moment. Santanico smiles because she's out of that place. She's free.

(she'll never be truly free until Malvado is dead but that's another story)]

You did it. You found a way out. [She grabs his hand, giving it a small squeeze.

[Oh. Shawn really should've expected another memory, especially as the room turns into a--a car? He's driving again?

He bites on his lip, to keep himself from laughing as he looks back at her. As she squeezes his hand, his cheeks grow slightly red too - he can't remember the last time she's ever smiled like that. I kind of want to see it more often, is what he'd say out loud, but he figures that's a conversation for another time.

So instead, he says, with the biggest grin he can muster,] Hey, give yourself a little credit. You helped me help you.

[Focusing his eyes on the road ahead, he takes that steering wheel and holds it tight. If he's gonna drive again, he's gonna do it right.]

[This is how she got out the first time, driving into the sunset with Richie.

But instead of Richie Shawn is in the driver's seat now. There haven't been a lot of things for Santanico to smile about in her life, but freedom is one of them.

She has plans of course, to make those who made her suffer suffer in return but for now she's happy.]

We can call it a combined effort.
