[but Tekhet is really thinking more about teeth than hair. ducking a little when Robin touches his own mouth and then speaks, it looks like the kid might be trying to see into his mouth.
then, out come all the teeth! the kid suddenly bares sharp little fangs at Robin, probably hoping he'll do the same.]

he says like maybe two words before giving up, because he can't actually talk while he's showing off his flat human teeth.]

[should he have told the truth? well... probably not. the truth is confusing. how do you explain to a baby dragon that you are the sole remaining creature of your kind alive, and that you don't really know what that kind even is?

[he gets where the child is looking, and turns his head so that he can see--his ears are round just like every other human. and, on a whim, he decides to try talking in the dragon's own language, using as many of the tips Tek gave him as he can recall...]
How long have you been able to look human? [but then he swaps back to common--] Well, not human, since... The face and the colors... [he points to his own face, his smooth nose and his human (if not severely paled) complexion.]
