( for A-M characters )
Before you post your toplevel comment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names comment here, and N-Z names go to the other post.
2. Make a note in your comment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

[ his eyes trail towards it. ]
That is not the real thing. That is simply pain.
no subject
Your pain?
[Her voice is quiet.]
no subject
For a long time, my pain was ignored. Dismissed. So I keep it in the light. And I hide what is truly important.
no subject
If that's Thor's, then maybe some sibling rivalry involved not being Mom and Dad's favourite. Hmm.
She considers these things thoughtfully for a moment, then withdraws her arm from his, offering her hand out, instead.]
Show me, then. I won't ignore it. What is it you wish people would acknowledge?
no subject
Do you think I'm worthy?
no subject
[She glances back at the hammer, her gaze casting over the text. It's meaningless to her, some sort of boast or enchantment or maybe just a legend. It's obvious that it means something to him, then.
Finally she shrugs.]
I don't know. Worthy of what, picking up a hammer? Just because it's meant for somebody else? Who's the one judging if you're worthy or not, what the hell does a hammer know about that kind of thing?
no subject
If it cannot be answered, then it cannot be lifted.
no subject
[She doubts her word on the subject would ever matter, because she thinks the whole restriction is kind of dumb, but this place can't dictate her thoughts, so fuck it.]
no subject
Give it a try.
no subject
Sorry, Thor, but your hammer has dumb rules attached to it.]

except the stars come alive. bright sparks that spin wildly to create the scenes you see before you. they seem to form images out of starlight, akin to the flicker of a camera reel, but the light, the light sinks into your skin like a breath of fresh air. electrifying, golden and so full of . . .
. . . full of . . .
it's overwhelming, this singular thought, free of all doubt, all pain, all suffering. untinged, untouched, pure.
eventually, the light comes back to the observatory. ]
no subject
She knows this feeling. There's no other in the universe that she'd ever understand more than this feeling.
She closes her eyes.]
I'm glad... that you love your brother. And I'm glad he loves you.
[There's so much else here, fear and loathing and that awful, awful emptiness down below. She'd started to wonder where the good in his life was, because he doesn't make it easy to find.]
no subject
So long as no doubt touches that place, it will be safe.
no subject
[Because that's important, at least to her. Her situation right now may be... complicated... but she still shows it in subtle ways, whenever she can. Remind him how precious he is to her. He can't know how much, not yet, but he doesn't have to. A little something can count for a lot.]
no subject
That is not as important. What is important is that I know and hold onto it.
no subject
[She spreads her arms, spinning in a slow circle, gesturing at the other objects around them.]
Think how much brighter this place could be, if you could spread this feeling out a bit more. Think how much better you'd feel! Don't just bury that shit like it's a secret.
no subject
Love only makes things worse.
no subject
Oookay, I'm gonna forgo my knee-jerk reaction to that and ask... why?
[Because that's hella bullshit.]
no subject
You should read the books if you truly wish to know. All of this . . . it stemmed from love.
no subject
[She doesn't think that all of this is for her, not really. Whatever this is, there has to be a reason, a focus.]
no subject
This place holds to the ideal of chaos and free choice. Nothing is barred.
no subject
You're gonna give me an aneurysm with all these non-answers, my dude. What would you do if I just parked myself on the ground and asked you to play patty-cake for the rest of the night?
no subject
[ still he gets her frustration. ]
Everything here has been twisted and untwisted. It's not possible to give a straight answer.
no subject
Anyway, re-focusing. Riddles aren't exactly her thing - she prefers more direct leads and experimental science - but this sure feels like a puzzle to be solved. Which means she's probably fucked, but whatever, she'll give it a shot.]
Arright, my dude, I'm gonna follow your lead on this. But you're gonna have to throw me a hint if I end up where you don't- [want] ...where it could hurt you.
[And then she approaches the books.]

The Tragedy of Loki
1. The Giant Killer
2. The Discovery
3. The Fall
There are a few that are unnumbered called Death, Rumours and The Fleet
when you open up the books, you notice that there are no words. They’re all drawings of a childlike nature. As you flick through the pages, they start to move and change, taking on an entirely different scene. ]
