( for N-Z characters )
Before you post your topcomment, please:
1. Check the first letter of your character's name as its written in our tags. A-M names go to the other post, and N-Z names comment here.
2. Make a note in your topcomment if anything especially triggering or graphic might show up in the Calibration. If you're not sure if something's worth noting or not, we suggest listing it anyway, just to err on the side of caution.
3. Put your character's name (it can be shortened or different from the tag, this time) in the subject of your comment. This will help visitors find you easily, and help us update the list below.
4. Post your comment! It's fine if everyone's Calibrations end up looking and reading very different from one another. As long as you're having fun and following our guidelines, you're good to go. :)
5. If you have any questions or concerns during Calibrations, you are welcome to send them towards the mod team at any time, as always.

crowns are a weighty subject on their own. he isn't particularly interested in touching the murky one, the one made of bone, or the one that is literally on fire. his eyes wander over them and then keep wandering in the hopes of finding something... a little less dangerous to look at.
which is how he comes upon the shelf of masks, in the other direction. he'll wander towards those instead.]

Robin is can look over the array of elaborately-crafted masks as much as he wants. they aren't so varied in style or material as the crowns were, but are each of a very different shape from one another.
some are toothy and monstrous, and some are of beautiful, stylized faces. some seem male, some female, some without many identifying features of any kind. one of the simpler faces has a set of slashes carved over one hollow eye, while another has large, innocent eyes outlined with tiny, sparkling gems.
one thing that they all seem to have in common, however... is that the eyeholes don't seem entirely empty. it's hard to tell for sure with how they are displayed on the shelf, but it almost looks as if the bit of space glimpsed behind each set of eyes is tinged with a different color, as if viewed through tiny stained glass lenses.]

and at least the masks are a decent distraction on their own. masks hold their fair share of heavy symbolism, but at least none of them are (he repeats,) on fire. he spots the slashed mask immediately, but doesn't linger there for long. he's still not there, yet.
but it seems like these line up with the mirrors. he picks up the one with large eyes, following his theory... and if nothing terrible happens, he'll even hold it up, pointing towards him, to peer backwards through whatever strange tint they have...
yeah, this isn't how you use a mask, but he's not about to go sticking this on his face yet.]

if there is anything sinister to this particular object, there's no sign of it yet.]

however, after a moment or two, a small monster pops its head up out of the center of the nest and stares back with big, startled eyes. it's the size of a very large dog (or maybe very small pony), and is actually pretty hideous, despite having the proportions of a juvenile. its talons are oversized, it's got that gangly look of something that hasn't grown into its own limbs yet... but it has all of the charm of a gnarled, spiny baby bird.]

...slowly... gasps...]

[the dragonling's spines flatten, and it ducks its head down close to the blankets!]

[shoop. it flattens down even more! now there are only a few spines along its back showing!]

and there's a little bit of shuffling, maybe, but not much more than that for nearly a minute.
until finally, there is a muffled string of chirruping and muttered growls. it's probably words, but Robin doesn't have a chance of understanding it, especially with how mumbled it is.]

it repeats the garbled-up sentence, and Robin is at least able to make out one word this time-- 'trespass.']
no subject
No, no... I'm just visiting. You let me in, remember?
no subject
the fact that Robin understood the words probably helps. he seems like he knows what he's talking about... and he doesn't seem very dangerous...
it responds with a questioning chirrup?]
no subject
[he's... so... cute. now Robin really can't help his silly smile, holding his own face.]
Hi! Do you recognize me? You are Tekhetsio, right?
no subject
the eyes are right, the hair is the right color but full of scruffy waves. they even have the little wrinkles of bone marring their face, and the fresh new tattoos curling at the corner of their eyes.]
...Tekhet.
[stated with more confidence than they're really feeling right now.]
no subject
Tekhet, sorry... How's it going? I like your hair.
no subject
I like yours.
[--and even in just a few words, it's clear that there is quite a bit of an accent there. and the kid touches their own bangs to help specify.]

Does it grow like that? [ah, the points of tiny, sharp teeth peek out when the little dragonkid talks.] I know you? What's your name?
no subject
My name's Robin, like the bird. And I dye my hair this color.
