[ She moves away from her post at the counter, almost gliding over to join Nova at the zinnia she's found. She taps her chin, thoughtfully. ]
Hmm ... yeah, I think the two of you would get along.
[ She retrieves a pair of floral scissors from her apron, ready to cut a blossom off for her ]

Hey, everyone's got to pick a favorite. As unbiased as I try to be, even I have a favorite flower.
[ She'll cut the stem with a sharp snip before holding it out for Nova to take ]

The first thing that's clear is that Ino is sitting in front of her, back to her usual younger appearance. As the picture becomes more clear, she can see that Ino is sitting at a desk with tall, intimidating stone walls surrounding her.
She's writing in some sort of fancy journal, it looks like -- and if Nova cares to peer over her shoulder, she'll see the following journal entry being written:]
I was just thinking today about how long it's been since I saw you last. So I guess I decided to write you a letter.
A lot of things have happened since I got here. A lot of crazy things. Hell, the last year itself has been crazy. I've made a ton of friends, and most of them have left. But that's just the way things are here, I guess.
It was tough to deal with for a long time, as you know, but I think I'm finally learning. And with the war waiting for me when I get home, I have to wonder if that's the kind of reality I'll face when I get home. But I can't be so negative. Even if things look tough, I can't give up, especially when the fight hasn't even begun yet.
I have a boyfriend now. We've been dating for four months today. His name's Gale, and he comes from a terrible place, where his family doesn't have enough to eat, and he has to work unbelievably hard to support the people that he loves. You'd probably get all overprotective, and try to intimidate him and ask him stupid, embarrassing questions to make sure he's a good guy. But I think he would pass all of your tests.
[ She pauses, letting out a little amused exhale, before she finishes the rest of the entry ]
But what am I doing talking to you about boys? You were always so awkward about that stuff.
Anyways. I miss you so much. Maybe I'll write to you again later. I wish you'd hurry up and come back already.
[ She puts down the pen, staring at the entry for a moment ... before the small smile she had on her face fades. She folds her arms on the desk and leans down to bury her face in them.
... And then Nova is back to the flower shop, as though nothing happened. ]

[ She'll spin on her heel, turning to walk among some of the other plants ... before stopping at an arrangement of acacia ]

[ She peers at the zinnia in her hand again, before turning to clip off some acacia. She holds it up next to the zinnia, for Nova's approval ]

Ino is much smaller this time -- she looks no more than 6 or 7 at the most. This time, however, she isn't alone -- she's standing in front of a smaller girl with pink hair, who is sniffling and crying behind her. She has her arms outstretched, as though she's protecting the other girl from something.
She yells, calling after some other children who seem to be running away from the scene, now ]
Y'know, it'll save you a lot of time next time if you just skip to the part where you go crying to your moms!
[ But once she seems satisfied that they have, indeed, gone crying to their moms, she turns towards the other girl, crouching down to be more on her level. ]
Hey ... c'mon, they're just stupid bullies. Don't pay any attention to them.
[ This doesn't seem to help the other girl much. She's rubbing her eyes furiously, the ends of her long, stringy bangs wet with tears and sticking to her face.
Ino reaches over with one hand to smooth back those bangs, though, revealing the other girl's face properly. ]
They're only making fun of it because you're trying so hard to hide it. You should be proud! You've got a cute face, under all that hair.
[ The other girl looks at Ino with wide green eyes, clearly not expecting the compliment ... before the two of them fade away and Nova's feet are firmly planted inside the flower shop again. ]

The other kids used to make fun of her 'cause her forehead was kinda big. It was pretty cruel of them, honestly ... but I guess that's the way a lot of kids act sometimes.
