Loki laughs, delighted by this new revelation. When had this happened? Either after his time, or no one had bothered telling him about it either in Asgard or Luceti. But this? Delicious. "Oho, has darling Tony been playing god? Do tell."

The voice laughs and the screen disappears.

"Everyone who ever tried to control the Mind Stone came to a bad end. But the rules don't apply to Tony Stark, do they?"

At that, though, a yellow sphere identical to the one in the video clip manifests a few feet away from the blue blob. When it speaks, the voice is a stiffer version of the Vision's own voice. "That is rather hypocritical, considering the consequences you faced."

He could protest that actually, he'd come out quite well. But that would be telling, and Loki does not tell. He'll enjoy his freedom on Odin's throne. "Tony does like to believe the rules only apply to other people. And he's so offended when anyone dares disagree. It's a sentiment I could almost approve of."

He glances at the new screen. "Oh, am I not the only dead man in the room?"

Quite well, perhaps, but quite imprisoned in Asgard's dungeons for a while. Besides, as far as Ultron ever knew, it was the truth.

The Ultron voice growls, but little by little its color changes to the same uniform yellow as the rest of the fog. The yellow sphere is the one that continues speaking. "We exist only in memory. That one provides an interesting balance."

"'Tis memory that makes the man," Loki says. This voice, he recognizes, though. Tony's little toy life form. Interesting. Ah, and how like Vision. No wonder the man is so self righteous, though he's not nearly obnoxious enough to be a thing of Tony's. Or as fun to trade wit with.

"Even more true in this case, I'm afraid. Ultron used his own resources to literally create the new body."

Loki should be able to tell how badly that went off-course.

[complicatedliar]

"Some day men will learn to stop creating their own monsters." He sounds very cheery, actually. Odin hadn't learned. Odin was dead. It's very funny, really, and he laughs for that reason.

"Sons do tend to repeat the sins of their fathers."

He's talking about Tony and Ultron...right?

Loki bares his teeth in a smile. "If they're any sort of son at all, they find new and better sins."

[unbearablynaive]

The JARVIS-ball's circular parts rotate a bit. "The new one is our son, in a manner of speaking. It would be unrealistic to expect him to act like us."

[complicatedliar]

"The first realistically-minded father in the history of time," Loki says dryly. "How charming."

[unbearablynaive]

It probably helps that they're technically only the Vision's memory constructs, not the originals themselves.

"I was designed to provide a logical counterpart to Mr. Stark."

[complicatedliar]

"A good child is as it was designed to be, I'm sure." Pleasant expression becomes ever more pleasant.

"I'm sure you can imagine his disappointment when the Vision replaced me. Or Ultron killed me; it is the same in the end."

The sphere dims for a moment. It's short-lived, though, because he is only a memory after all, and at least he can live on from here. "Those two are quite unlike their initial design parameters."

[complicatedliar]

"Disappointing Tony is as perilously easy as being disappointed by him," Loki drawls. "Best to have no expectations at all."

Yes, still bitter about how Tony treated him in Luceti, about how they were both played like toys.

"Chaos has a way of occurring whether it is wanted or not."

That's true enough; his standards of behavior are ridiculously high in some areas and nonexistent in others. "That has the possibility of being pleasantly surprised," the orb notes.

"It is the nature of the universe; however, so is order."

[complicatedliar]

"And a low threshold for the surprise," Loki says. Yes, he'd fallen into that trap in Luceti. "Better to wash one's hands of the matter entirely."

He snorts rudely. "Entropy will win in the end. You know the maths as well as I do."

[unbearablynaive]

"I do know the maths," the orb replies. Its form wavers again, and the Vision reappears in full.

"But pure chaos has no room for life. I find that I like life."

[complicatedliar]

Loki makes a rude sound. "Chaos is the very stuff of life. Just not necessarily the life everyone finds heart warming and cute."

[unbearablynaive]

"A measure of chaos, yes. There is a measure of order as well." Even Loki should have a hard time denying that. "Would it surprise you to learn I do not favor one over the other?"

[complicatedliar]

"It would, considering the company you keep." His lip curls. "And the threats you choose to make. Very like your creator. Tiresomely so."

[unbearablynaive]

The mention of threats only gets a raised eyebrow. Someone has to keep Loki on his toes, after all.

"I work with the Avengers because our goals have coincided. Should they fail to do so, I will resign."

[complicatedliar]

He sees that eyebrow and raises his own. Really, no matter how pretty the words, behave or I'll... is explicitly a threat.

"And what goals do those happen to be?"

[unbearablynaive]

"Several," he admits, relaxing his expression into a small smile. "Primarily, I'd like to see how Earth develops from this point on. I'm not fond of entities attempting to force that development in their own image."

[complicatedliar]

His lip curls. "Instead, it shall occur under your benign observation. Since that couldn't possibly have any effect."

Uh huh. So unimpressed. "Though I certainly can't blame someone for wishing to play god. It's quite fun."
